What a nice club! (Calling it a gym would be insulting). The amenities are bountiful and the space feels more intimate than that of other bigger athletic clubs. Mind you, with all the macho machines that is the center of the club, it somehow still has that feminine flair which I find favorable, for me! But seriously, it does have everything from cardio machines to weights (free weights or weight machines). Equipment that will help condition the body is also available.
There is a studio for group classes, has its own set of controls to dim the light and adjust the temperature. Large mirrors, and wooden floor for anything from yoga to dance lessons.
Sleek water filtration system, clean towels, antibacterial wet wipes are all included in the $59 a month membership. (What I'm not clear on is if classes are included; I'd tend to think not) Registration for classes is super easy. Although I didn't end up going to one, the process to sign up for class was seamless.
Door access, on the other hand, is not as straightforward. The link I was given became expired by the time I wanted to get a digital key. So the nice coffee house staff on the ground level buzzed me in (the athletic club is in the basement). The coffeehouse being so close is another perk!
Only problem I foresee is finding parking. Hopefully Sudler will have its own lot in the near future! If I lived within walking distance to the Sudler Athletic Club, I'd definitely become a member and enjoy the what feels like a semi-private space to work out in! read more
