It was our first time at High Five Diner, located in Little Fort BC. We were on our way to Kamloops BC from Edson AB, and we had found this little spot. High Five offers traditional diner foods and ambiance, and had good service as well. We ate the schnitzel champignon (French for mushrooms) - two large pork schnitzels, topped with mushrooms, gravy and mashed potatoes and gravy. The dish was very large, and we were happy to share the dish, rather than get something else with the meal. We have to say the dish very delicious!!! At the end of the meal, we took a piece of peach and berry pie to go, which was also very tasty. A spot to try if you are going through the area. read more

The place looks cool when you walk in, but there was a pungent stench of mildew. The menu is pretty interesting and the food was good and I would rate it 4 stars. I loved my schnitzel- and it was huge. My daughter's pieroskhi with sausage was good and my wife's lettuce wrap was fine. The girl who took our order knew nothing about the food and wasn't very outgoing. That smell and the fact that all the tables were dirty when there was no one in there brought my rating down. read more

VERY unfriendly "welcome". Restaurant was empty. Food was mediocre. I do not appreciate having to "tip" while I pay for my meal at the till before I've even sat down or eaten or been served. Unfortunately, just a couple of apple pies available. I've heard their pies are to die for, but we don't do apple. Went into the bathroom and it was absolutely filthy. Always seemed busy when we drove through so we decided finally to stop! Atmosphere definitely is worth the time to look around with a 50/60 feel . Our cashier was friendly and patient while we navigate through the menu. She did deliver our drinks to us and later ask us how everything was The bacon dill raps are definitely delicious well worth the try !! We got the mile high burger and WOW pictures here does not do justice!! Mushroom full of favour and the hamburger wasn't dry but moist and with flavour you definitely need a fork and knife for this burger bring your APPETITE ! The basket of fries are definitely hand cut and were crispy. Coffee was good as well The club house is almost impossible to eat with the thick multi grain bread the " roasted Turkey " was actually flavourful lots of turkey and bacon and tomato YUM! The Cesar dressing was as well homemade very thick but spot on for favour. The cherry milkshake we found a " little " lacking in cherry flavour. Not as thick as we like milkshake but don't let my review stop you trying it out. read more

The food I was served today was not fit for a dog. They changed the fresh pork in their schnitzel to 5" round pressed meat patties. Been going there for 15 years but this was the final straw. Bad enough there is usually signs of mouse droppings in the corners of the bathroom too. read more

Super cute diner! Had low expectations but actually the food was bomb! We had the beef burger as all you see around the area are cows, very fresh delicious meat! (Sorry vegans) Delicious fries and home made sauces!! I LOVE My sauce! We ordered a FULL pie to go, unfortunately I didn't get to try the apple pie but the cheesecake was so delicious, not too sweet, very creamy and cheesy. We were just so astonished and delighted as we were leaving North Thompson River Provincial Park and thought, why the heck not, pulled out Yelp and looked to see if there was a decent breakfast anywhere nearby and BAM! High Five Diner!! So many reviews, so many stars out here in what, to us, feels like the middle of nowhere! We rolled in to this vintage, dark wood, cozy quirky diner in the middle of this tiny town and were warmly welcomed and tucked into a gorgeous corner booth. Marc ordered the basic breakfast with the shredded potatoes, and I got the french toast with strawberries and whipped cream - turned out they were out of whipped cream so I got ice cream instead. Being forced to eat ice cream for breakfast while on vacation is a great way to make me a giddy happy camper. Marc's potatoes weren't hot, but he said the flavour and texture were the best he'd had, and my french toast were hearty hot and delish. The coffee was ok, not terrible diner coffee but still diner. I wish I'd taken one of those giant pieces of pie to go, if you are nearby don't make the same mistake I did!! Take the pie and run!! read more

All we got was the apple pie with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, but we watched some meals come out of the kitchen and they all looked delicious and a huge portion size - I could barely finish my pie. I don't know if I should even say anything about this hidden little gem which has become a road trip must stop on the way out to the west coast. All started out with one such road trip which intake of food was needed while traveling through BC. Happened to stumble upon a little diner tucked just off the main highway so we pulled in and good thing we did. The menu has something for everyone. Ordered our meal and when it came out, we were surprised at how tasty it looked and not to mention the portion size, be sure to come hungry! The food is fresh and home cooked like your mom always cooked for you, yum! And as for desert, the pie is delicious and a meal in itself. I loved the theme. Tried to have a meatloaf but all out so had the sheppards pie, which was poor. The meat was over spiced and almost no corn and it wasn't sweet. The potatoes and gravy tasted like it came from a mix. The salad looked good but they put heavy amounts of a mayonnaise based dressing that spoiled it. The portions were large but unfortunately I'm not an "all you can eat" kind of person. I like normal portions with subtle flavour. The burger was also heavily loaded with mayonnaise. I've been here before and it was great but after stopping in for breakfast yesterday I've got to say, I'm no longer a fan. I was really looking forward to breakfast as we were on our way back home and it's an 8 hour drive. Servers seemed more interested in playing with their hair and chatting behind the counter. Even had to wrangle up our own jams. Only had our coffee topped up once...near the end of our meal. We'd been there for about 45 minutes. The servers were more concerned with pleasing their "regulars" than making an impression with the people just stopping through. The food was lackluster. I don't think the cook bothered to scrap the grill at all because my eggs tasted like everything but eggs. The sausage I'm sure was taken out of the freezer and thrown right on the grill. Didn't taste fresh at all. And the toast, well I think the toast is what disappointed me most because how do you ruin toast? Well, let me tell you how. You toast your bread then leave it to go cold completely so that when you go to butter it the butter doesn't melt nicely into it. Oh! And make sure to put too much of that butter on there! Luckily I wrangled up that jam and was able to somewhat salvage our cold toast. :( We were considering taking home a pie but glad we didn't because it's $41.99 for a pie because it goes home in a glass pie plate. This is probably my new favorite roadside diner. It's too bad I live 9 hours away, but look forward to my next visit this summer. I had the big breakfast and it was amazing. Food was served warm and quick and the wait staff was really good to us. One draw back, they need a furnace in there because I just about froze! Oh well it was worth it... Cute 50 style diner with lots of memorabilia. Greeted right away by friendly warm people. This food is homemade and omg delish. The portions are huge so beware you might want to share. I had the maple bacon burger and the flavor combo of maple bacon and beef was great. Fried onion rings on top and all the trimmings. The burger is so big it comes with a steak knife holding it up. The buns are homemade too. You can get any side u want...even spaghetti! The fresh hand cut fries were the best...crisp and tender and at least 5 pounds of potatoes on the plate! Save room for dessert and do not miss the home made pie! I had the banana cream. A great experience and delightful people running the place.
