Absolutely 100% recommend! We were on our way to Edmonton and so glad we tried this place. Ambiance we were right on the lake and sat out on the covered deck. There was plenty of inside dining as well!! They have a current menu and food choices. Our server Amanda was perfect! Eggs Benny were amazing and the house made hollandaise sauce made fresh everyday by cook Shelley was silky perfection. Also we had an omelette that was sooo good with hash browns made fresh.... we were so happy we stopped and was served a beautiful breakfast that made our long journey so much better. Lunch menu looked amazing too! A must try for anyone going through Clearwater!! Definitely will go again!! read more

What. A. View! On our road trip across Canada, our AirBnB host in Kamloops recommended stopping in Clearwater on the way to Jasper. We were ecstatic to find the Painted Turtle on Yelp because of the view and the food was almost as good. My friend an I split the PT Burger and Butter Chicken because the menu had quite a selection. The butter chicken was not traditional as the pita was more fluffy and it was served with tzatziki sauce, but it was satisfying nonetheless. The burger was also delicious and my friend was very happy with it. We topped it off with affogato and asked for the Expresso on the side to spend more time with the view and attempt to get caffeinated. I could have definitely eaten 2 more, but we needed to get hiking. It was definitely the perfect way to top off out meal. During our visit, we were one of the only customers there. Our server was very competent regarding the menu and very attentive (but not overly so -which is a tough balance sometimes). read more

This place gets one star for the absolutely beautiful view of the lake. The rest of the place is an entirely different story. We stopped in for breakfast on a pretty slow day. The service was prompt, but not particularly warm, and the staff could be heard complaining about each other. The French toast was pretty good, thick french bread pieces golden fried. The bacon was overcooked and the hash browns were burnt. My partner's egg benny was almost inedible. It was sandwich meat on a heavily over buttered English muffin with a small amount of clearly store bought hollandaise. The eggs didn't taste poached, but instead fried in an oval. We wouldn't return. read more

Painted Turtle has been thus far the worst experience in Western Canada. We were looking for a place to have lunch and decided to stop by. It took 15 mins to take our order and even though we were told the kitchen was running behind, beer took 30 mins and it wasn't what I'd ordered. When the appetizer finally arrived, we had no napkins / silverware. Another 5 mins to get us the "tools" to eat. The waiter seemed not to care at all. Well, if you're looking for a place to eat in Clearwater, don't go to Painted Turtle. McDonalds or any other fast food chain will serve you better! read more

Good food and great service! We stayed in Clearwater and went here twice for lunch and once for breakfast. Great and affordable meals. The changing lunch special was also great. For us it was a ham and turkey sandwich with guacamole, lettuce and tomato! It was a bit cold when we were there, but they also have outside seating overlooking Dutch Lake. My wife and I had a lovely dinner here. The setting is gorgeous with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains in the background. Wow!!!! This restaurant is unbelievable! It is a little funny to get to. When you get to the camp ground you just have to keep driving until you hit the beautiful lake and there's the restaurant. The staff is great, the specialty coffees are great and the food is just awesome! So glad we found this place. Highly recommend eating here. read more

Nice place on a small lake shore. Simple tasty food. I ordered greens salad which was basically a pile of green leaves with some vegetables on top. Other guest ordered butter chicken which he looked very much. Another guest ordered the vegetarian noodle salad, which was said to be not spicy but did contain chilly and was too spicy to eat. It was replaced by another dish and was removed from the bill. The kids enjoyed the ice cream treats at the end of the meal, which were only $2 each. Recently, the company I work for took its employees who had worked for them for 20 years on a Canadian Rockies tour. One of the stops we made was for lunch, here at the Painted Turtle. There were 54 of us in our group so we submitted our lunch order a day ahead and let them know when we would be coming. When we arrived, everything was ready and they served our entire group in less than 20 minutes. I was at the end of the line and completely impressed! The food was warm, fresh, and delicious. I had the spanakopita and a green salad. We sat on the back deck and enjoyed the amazing view. If I ever make it back to this area of Canada, I will definitely be stopping here. read more

So happy we were able to find this little gem hidden just off the highway. A beautiful view of Dutch Lake from a large and spacious patio. Brunch took less than 15 minutes to arrive, mind you there were only 4 tables seated. The food was simple but flavorful and the coffee is acceptable but came in a nice, big real mug. Our server was pleasant and friendly and was eagerly giving another table directions to a loval waterfall. I'll happily stop here again. read more

This hidden gem is worth stopping to relax and savour the delicious food and enjoy the view of Raft mountain and the loons on the water. You can sit outdoors on the covered patio all lit up with twinkle lights, or move indoors if you prefer. The prices are comparable with everywhere else in Clearwater for a nice evening of dining!
