Dr. Shammout was gentle and thorough in his examination and diagnosis which actually meant I needed to see another practitioner because the site of the trouble was determined to be the gum, not a tooth. Absolutely fantastic. I HATE going to dentists. This was a NO PAIN root canal. I was greeted right away. I filled out all the pre visit paperwork. I wanted to make sure that my insurance was accepted and how much my copay was. They were very helpful. The doctor was amazing. He explained what he was going to do. He used numbing cream in my mouth. He massaged it in. after waiting a few minutes he injected the numbing agent. He waited several minutes and then, rather than just start drilling, he used an extremely cold cotton on my tooth to make sure it was totally numb. From beginning to end there was no pain. He explained that I might have some pain when the numbing agent wore off at the injection site and my upper jaw because of keeping my mouth so long. No pain at all. What a terrific experience. What a wonderful experience I had at this office!!!! Never, ever thought I would compliment a dentist because I detest ever going to a dentist. The Endodontis, Dr. Shamoot was excellent! Had anxiety about having a root canal done from the moment I found out that I needed one. Prior experiences produced apprehensiveness. I was referred here by my dentist to get a root canal redone. After my previous root canal that was done years ago I was very nervous because it was very uncomfortable, so I was not looking forward to this at all. Just thinking about it gave me anxiety. It was a breeze here! My anxiety quickly went away once I realized how smoothly it was going. It wasn't uncomfortable and it was quick! I'm highly impressed with the care Dr. Shammout took with my mom! He reviewed her medical history, something RARELY done by others, her medication, surgery, allergies, and recent dental history and current problem. Dr. Shammout thoroughly examined my mom's mouth, teeth, gums, in detail like NO other dental "professional" that she has seen since November '23, has done. My mom has seen at least three other dentists and endodontist, in the last four moths. She's been in pain despite the work she's had done by others (root canals), and was recently told, by some dentist, she'd have to have three teeth removed, and a bridge built using her wisdom tooth as an anchor. Come to find out, from Dr. Shammout, that the wisdom tooth has a large cavity and needs to be extracted! Why the other dentist recommended using it as an anchor goes to show that he did NOT assess my mom's teeth thoroughly. Dr. Shammout's plan of care is conservative, and does NOT require extracting the number of teeth that other dentist recommended (to make money, I'm sure!). Dr. Shammout's office staff, including Janet, the office manager, are exceptional! They're caring, honest, helpful, and represent the high standards that Dr. Shammout clearly implements. If you have options with your dental plan and Dr. Shammout is on your list, RUN to see him! If you don't trust what your dentist is telling you, ask to see Dr. Shammout for assessment and treatment plan. HE is your guy! read more

I had a root canal procedure done at High Desert Endodontics today. I had an unpleasant root canal done years ago at a different practice, so I was really anxious coming into today's appointment. This root canal procedure was the best dental experience of my life. Dr. Shammout explained clearly before, during, and after the procedure. His hands are skillful and swift; I felt nothing during the procedure. The entire staff was so friendly, relatable, and knowledgeable. I was in and out within an hour. This place deserves zero stars. They play games with billing and tell you one thing and back track and you cannot get straight answers on anything they promise and bill you for. We get one bill marked "final bill that's marked for collections" and when we call and complain we have not received any other bill they have no explanation. They will also send you one final bill marked for collections without making any attempt to contact you by phone. They like to immediately threaten collections on the first go round. The office manager gives you the runaround and wont explain hidden charges When you go in for work They will charge you for an "initial consultation" but the office manager develops amnesia at the time of your visit and neglects to mention this up front, and send you a bill a month after the fact. The office manager has no explanations and can only offer a "I'm sorry" response. They re not on the up and up on anything and I will be complaining to my regular dentist about this office and warn against referring patients to this fly-by-night operation. I highly discourage using this office and do not recommend them. I will not be going back. read more

Let me start off by saying this doctor is so gentle. I had a root canal a year ago somewhere else and I was literally in tears. I needed 2 root canals. Did one last year and one this year. I told my dentist do not send me back to synergy. So he sent me to High Desert. I cannot say enough good things about this place. First of all the receptionists are amazing. They are friendly and inviting. They don't overbook their patients I was seen at my appointed time. The doctor has such a gentle hand. I have a high tolerance to the numbing medication so I am normally numb for like 8 hours after my procedure. However it seemed he gave me less numbing medication exactly where it needed to be. So I didn't feel a thing during my procedure and a couple hours later the numbing was gone. I would HIGHLY recommend high desert. Thank you to everyone there for such a welcoming and calming experience. I literally almost fell asleep during my root canal. That's how relaxed I was and how I didn't feel a thing. If you are wondering about whether to go here or somewhere else. Go here. You won't regret it. read more

I had a root canal done yesterday and if your anything like me I would rather go round and round with a dancing bear than get a root canal. I heard the horror stories about root canals from friends , so you can imagine my anxiety knowing I needed a root canal. Well, let me tell you, when I went to High Desert Endodontics for my root canal, this was not the case at all. From the front desk associates to the other associates they made my anxiety go away. They were very professional, courteous, friendly and explained the procedure, listening to any concerns I might have. It was painless, not what I expected at all, I thought i was going to be a hurting, not so! The procedure was simple, quick and painless and most important, they cared and that matters a lot to me! Came here with a referral from my regular dentist. They are super nice and very understanding. Unfortunately they couldn't do my root canal due to an infection. They where very concern and made me feel very comfortable. I even got a call from them to see how I was doing. Place is very clean, inviting, and plenty of chairs in the waiting room. For someone being in the Dental Field I am such a big chicken when it comes to major work. Dr.Shamoot is highly recommended by many Dental Offices including my primary dentist. I broke a tooth over the weekend, and I was sooo happy when the office was flexible, very accommodating and were able to see me on their very next business day. Dr.Shamoot has the best and most professional bedside manner. He is very detailed in explaining what he will be doing during the procedure. He puts you at ease and he does an excellent job at making smiles beautiful; I didn't even feel the injection!!!! The staff here is amazing including the office manager Janet!! She has great interpersonal communication skills & the best customer service ethic! I had a root canal here a couple of months ago and I cannot say enough about this office. First, the office staff was so nice and friendly I almost forgot why I was there. When I was walked into the treatment room, I can't describe the entire office as anything except sterile. It smelled "clean". Granted, it should be clean, but you could really tell that it was CLEAN. Then the endodontist was very professional and explained step by step what he was doing. When it was all said and done, after the anesthesia wore off, I expected to feel like... well... to feel like I had had a root canal. This is the third that I have had in my life. Although I do not find them as unbearable as some would describe, I do remember feeling quite a bit of discomfort. Not so this time. That day and the next, I would swear I had had no worse than a cavity filled. I would recommend this place to anyone. Amazing. read more

I dont know anyone that enjoys getting a root canal but this is as close as it can get! Dr Shamoot is seriously amazing! I refuse to go to anyone else, he's gentle and you don't feel a thing during the procedure and you barely feel the shot too. I'm a hot mess when it comes to dental work due to a previous bad experience but I'm fine here! The Dr explains everything In great detail before and after and makes sure you're comfortable the whole time. And the staff in the office is great, they always take great care of me! I was referred from my regular dentist here for a root canal and I can not say enough about how gracious everyone is and was. I was in horrible pain for weeks and the doctor refused to open it up and work on it until that was taken care of with antibiotics (he said he didn't want to put me thro the torture) I appreciated that and left with antibiotics and pain killers. As my week went on I called with concerns at least 4 times that week and every time the nurses, and staff were patient and kind over the phone, never seems rushed or frustrated about so many calls. When I went in to get the root canal everyone was very friendly and confident. The office was clean and didn't smell like a dentist office (I hate that smell) I went in with nerves and the doctor took time to explain every step he was taking (showing pictures and x-rays) I barely felt the shots to numb your mouth-Dr. Shammout was very professional and quick. I was in a bit of pain after and called again to check and they offered to have me come in, took me within minutes and took extra time to talk to me about the soreness. Sort of felt silly going in after because now a day later I feel like nothing happened. My mouth feels almost back to normal and zero pain! Another side note: I do have dental insurance but even so the price seems normal for a root canal and the insurance helped and I paid it off in one shot. If you need to go through a root canal I recommend this place. read more
