Where to begin? We hired Platinum Quality to replace our roof in 2020 with a new steel Decra roof…read more While they were in the process of installing the roof, a bad storm came through and did over $100,000 in water damage to our house. This review itself is not about that issue, as the owner at the time, Josh, did everything he could to help us recover and the insurance process was relatively smooth. This review is due to ongoing leak/warranty issues and the fact that the current owner, Kevin, is refusing to do any warranty work or even come look at the roof. Kevin claimed we owed them $3,500 for additional work they did. We have shown Kevin proof in our text messages with Josh that we did not indeed owe them any money. This is because their insurance did not cover roughly $5,000 of our personal belongings. Josh and I came to an agreement that we would call the money we owed each other even for the additional work and the insurance claim. Josh never said or even hinted that we would be losing our warranty coverage (they technically owed me more money that I owed them). Kevin now says that we have zero warranty now through their company (should be 50 years) on our new $28,000 roof and refuses to send someone out. As a business owner myself, it is frankly astonishing to me the way that Kevin is acting. I had been patient and polite with Kevin, proved to him that we did not owe the company any money, and he repaid us by completely and unjustly revoking our roof warranty and refusing to stand by their craftsmanship. We would have absolutely recommended Platinum Quality under their original owner, but he has since left the company. Buyer beware.

Kilker did NOT give us a new bid but verbally agreed to make this right, fight with insurance, and do what he can to help meet what insurance was paying for new damage. We discussed all repairs through him or contractors he works with. It's been 2 mos and while the roof was eventually completed, his crew took down gutters and since his bid was "roof only", we are now stuck without gutters and none of the additional repairs have been done. Horrible communication skills, asks to meet then doesn't show or say he won't be there. We have cancelled 3 medical appts and several plans over 2 months just to sign, and he never came. When we respectfully advised we need an invoice and to move on, he turned nasty. While our roof is done, we have no gutters, damage all over the exterior and are worrying about additional damage at this point due to inaction. He refused to issue an invoice, "construction doesn't work that way", his original bid was $14,200 but told us he's cutting us a deal and we finally paid $21,000 total to simply be done with him. It's very possible the only reason he stopped texting or calling is because I said I'd get a NCO if he contacts me again due to his chosen words. He has called intoxicated, told us how great he is, what exquisite work he does, and yet won't give a simple invoice, swears at you, calls you unfair, and even mentioned he hopes I'll "get therapy". This is not someone you want to work with and I'm still cleaning up nails even though his contract did say they'd clean up all debris.
