This place is beyond cool so mystical - you will hardly believe you're in Kentucky! The hours are a little funky, so you have to check their social media and website to find out when they are opening that week. Even if you don't practice metaphysical rituals, there are plenty of things to look at, smell, read and the two shop cats are absolutely divine. I bought a couple locally made candles that smell soo good and also got a stuffed cat that looks quite eerily like mine. Shop owners are incredibly nice, helpful and they have such fun personalities on their social media accounts. What a magnificent place! The decor, shelves, cases are one of a kind and fit magnificently with the theme of the shop. It's looks small but it's definitely filled with treasure from floor to ceiling with books, candles, tarot cards, stones and so much more!! The staff was fantastic and a well oil machine! Definitely knowledgeable on all the products, their passion for this place shows! I purchased a lot of gifts for other people and a couple items for myself. At checkout it's was a breeze from the system they had set up but the best part was the packaging! They individually wrapped each item in beautiful paper, the best service I received in years! I was totally impressed by the entire experience of visiting Hierophany & Hedge. Everything about my visit felt super well crafted and high-end (in a good way!). It literally feels like the shop itself is a character, which can be hard to pull off! It's awfully easy to veer into camp with this type of immersing experience, but this brand is so well executed--from walking up to the store to opening purchases at home you can feel the intention and care put in. I was in town from Indianapolis visiting for my birthday. I didn't even know this place existed, but I am so happy it showed up in my search! I was met with lovely, welcoming vibes and friendly and engaging service. I was lucky to have the store to myself and got to admire everything and chat with the proprietors who were super pleasant and helpful. It's amazing to stumble upon a hidden gem like this, where you can find things you didn't know existed. They've got pretty much anything you can think of needing when it comes to spell-crafting and magic. I say this from the seasoned perspective of having searched for (and often, not found) some rarer ~ingredients~ and harder to find herbs. This place has everything you want in an occult shop. Materials and ingredients, lots and lots of books both fiction and non-fiction, and a very lovely shop cat. Hours do change from week to week, so you have to schedule you visits accordingly but honestly that kind of adds to the experience. Wow - was in town and a friend was like, lets walk by this bespoke arcana shop and we can look in the windows because it is never open when I go but just looking in the windows is interesting. We looked in - and there were people inside - it was open! Warmly greeted by the two staff, who also offered interesting commentary, and generally created a great welcoming atmosphere. So much fun stuff - much of it I had no idea what it was. Its like if an art museum gift shop and a M. Night Shyamalan movie had a child...its fantastic. What a gorgeous store with amazing employees. They were super busy when I stopped in, but I can tell you that this shop looks like it's out of a Harry Potter Novel. The dark shelves and the oddites are perfect. Their selection of Tarot is impressive. I wish I'd had more time to explore what was there, but the husbeast was being patient as it was, so I only got to spend a few precious moments inside, but I can tell you, if I lived there, I'd be a regular. This place is great. I'd never really been down to Covington before but a friend suggested we meet there and we spent a pleasant Saturday afternoon ambling around the stores and enjoying a drink or two. She guided me to Hierophany & Hedge, telling me I'd love it. I've always been fascinated with the arcane and like to make a point of checking out stores when I find them. So many of them try so hard to be 'witchy' but the mass market effect of everything can be a downer. Not so with H&H- the store is immediately welcoming. Most of this is due to the the two 'shopkeepers', Augur and Coil. They are not only entertaining, friendly and helpful but they really know their stuff. They offer suggestions and tips without being pushy and can offer insight on almost everything you pick up. If you pick up an item or two, you're offered an animal token in exchange for them being held at the register and you can continue to amass a pile behind the counter without being bogged down as you shop. It was busy when we went in but Auger addressed this with charm and humour as he tried to greet everyone who came in. Coil, for her part, does a phenomenal job of carefully and beautifully wrapping each purchase in it's own unique way. They're so beautifully wrapped, it's hard to feel like you want to open them! By the time I left with my stack of books, crystals and other non-essential but fun items, I still felt like I could have spent at least another hour there and still not looked at everything. For anyone looking for a hidden treasure of the arcane, Hierophany and Hedge is one of the finest stores I've been to. read more

Aesthetically perfect for the magick shoppe of your subconscious. I unfortunately did not have enough time in the store to absorb all of the delights therein. However, I must say that if you are looking for a wand, there are no better proprietors to purchase one from, outside of very specialized locales not easily accessed by the public. I noticed a nice selection of tarot cards, useful stones, and a good variety of herbs and spell components. There appear to be some interesting tomes tucked away in corners. The proprietors are exactly as they should be, with fashion sense and patience above and beyond that expectation. Although it is a longish journey for me, I plan to return again and again, as my requests for certain difficult to procure items were answered. read more
