I could not believe the service and the selection of scents! The employees were more than helpful, they were excited to assist. We all made our very own candles, room scents and body oils. I'm sad that they don't offer body oils anymore (not sure why they were removed) but hopefully they'll make a come back really soon. You'll have to experience Candle Lab OTR for yourself. The cost of the products is very reasonable. It's a place to go for an outing with family and friends or alone (I've visited alone several times). Men also have a wide selection to choose from. Each artist has a shelf or a little area inside the store. There were some beautiful bird baths and garden stuff. My favorite section of the store is the bookshelf in the back on the left that contains those Arcadia history books. Each one is about a certain piece of Cincinnati's history. Some talk about immigrants, others about neighborhoods, and some about families and companies that have flourished here. I like looking through these books as they are fascinating! I ended up purchasing an "I love OTR" sticker for $2 and am very happy and proud to finally own one. The owner is super sweet and is open most of the time but will open up shop if you have the shop's card and will come down and open it up for you!

We bought several of the Cincinnati history book series for my father in-law for Christmas. The first time we visited, the husband was looking for a specific Christian Moerlein beer poster, and the woman working the register was very nice about trying to help us find it. He settled for a different one, but as we walked back down the street, she had found it and even came out calling for us to see if he wanted to swap. So nice! The owner apparently is open to taking calls if you need her to open up shop for something when they are closed. This is a great store to browse on a lazy OTR walking day, or if you are looking for some interesting gifts or jewelry off the beaten path.
