I've been a customer of Midway Deli for 20 years and the food and service have never lacked once in all these years. The options for sandwiches are perfect and hit the spot. I love the location in Norman. Driving there through the nearby beautiful neighborhood enhances how special deli really is. I love the options, the ambiance of the seating and space. I love the accessibility of the bench outside with the solar powered phone charger, too. Basically, I love this place and you will, too.

We visited for lunch on Friday and there was a long line but it moved very quickly and we were able to find a seat with no problems. Outside there was a live musician performing and it was mainly covered. Of course we had to try the Vulcan sandwich (they're known for it) and we also tried a baked potato and another sandwich. We were SO impressed! When they came out, they looked like regular sandwiches but surpassed our expectations with the fresh and delicious flavors. Love this local, casual sandwich spot and would enjoy bringing friends back here.

I loved that the jelly and peanut butter drip from the sandwich. To. Has paper towels and wet naps to make clean up easy. The prices are very responsible. Ron is amazing, very kind, and certainly has a passion for what he does. I love the music that was playing this evening when we went, it seemed like something from the 50s. They just opened up for lunch and they are also open until nine in the evening. FIrst off, compliments to the chef because this pizza is damn good. I always get the Godfather, but experiment every time I go. The problem, however, is not the pizza. The problem is that never have I been to a restaurant where the service has been so constantly poor. Everything from slow service, to forgetting orders, to never showing up except for the check, i've experienced at Hideaway. I can't remember a time where the service was decent. Anyways, the pizza is so good that sometimes you will not notice your drink has been empty since ordering your food and your salad never arrived. I won't go to hideaway anymore after I found out that some employees are paid as little as THREE DOLLARS AN HOUR plus tips. No one's livelihood should depend on how generous a bunch of strangers are feeling that day. Stop expecting US to pay YOUR employees. What vile human beings decided that $3/hour is an acceptable amount to pay someone for their work? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Absolutely disgusting. What year do you think it is? 1975? Hideaway Pizza was the highlight of my visit to Norman! I'd heard about the pizza forever, so I was excited to finally have a chance to try it! I especially liked the half and half option! I was actually able to try two pizzas in one! I opted for the Little Kahuna on one side and a build-your-own on the other. Both were delicious! i can't put my finger on what exactly made the pizza so good, but I liked it! I would definitely recommend it and will gladly return if I'm ever in OK. I'm a new fan! read more
