I joined the gym in February, but shortly after, I moved just Forty-five minutes away-- I was expecting a simple process to cancel and switch to a more convenient location. I contacted ABC Fitness (the billing provider), and they informed me I needed to reach out to the gym directly to cancel. When I called Gold's Gym, I was shocked to learn that the only way to cancel is in person at the gym. I explained clearly that I no longer live in the area and asked if I could cancel via email or phone. I was told flat-out NO, with NO Exceptions and Zero Willingness to help. Despite informing them that I had moved and no longer intended to use the gym, they continued charging my account. This is unacceptable and feels like a deliberate strategy to trap members and keep billing them. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contacting my bank to block any further charges from this location. Terrible customer service. Outdated and inflexible policies. Avoid at all costs.

I decided to give them a peek myself, as I am trying to get back into a regular gym membership. I signed up for a free trial online and literally within a minute or two I received a call, haha. Talk about promptness! When I got a chance later on, I went to the gym to experience it. I love the massage area and I appreciate that they have WiFi -- it's essential when trying to listen to online music and the mobile network isn't always reliable. The layout is straightforward and every section has the disinfectant spray and towels. Their rules are clearly displayed and from the crowd everyone seems to conduct themselves pretty well. The locker room is very clean, and while I didn't use one during my visit, there are plenty to choose from -- even some smaller ones near the front. There are two desks near the front, and each one has hand sanitizer. There's also a dispenser next to the front entrance. I really like that you need to be able to scan in to enter, and you get penalized if you let people tail you. It's my first time entering a gym like that, and it's a nice sense of security. And every member gets a free towel and water bottle to use during their session -- nice! FYI, basic membership does not include the classes (they're $15 each otherwise). I do wish there was more hand sanitizer throughout the entire gym and not just in the front, but otherwise I think the spot is a great deal and worth exploring.

So far it hasn't been crowded weight area. There are quite a few pieces of cardio equipment. All in all, I'd say the gym has all you need. Maybe the equipment isn't new, but it appears to be clean and well maintained. The locker room decor is better than average with glass doors on the showers and shelves and hooks in and around the showers. The recovery zone is very relaxing. Updated 3/1/26. Ok, I've come back to give the whole truth that I was reluctant to share. I was being greedy and didn't want to share, but you guys deserve to know. Workout Anytime uses the very B E S T chair massagers and Hydromassage tables I've tried anywhere. One negative: I saw a man walk out of the sauna literally dripping with sweat. He walked directly to the massage chair and sat down. When he was done, he did not wipe down the equipment. I use the wipes before AND after using the equipment. You might like to too. I have a lot of gym experience, and this Lanham location is a solid choice. I currently belong to several gyms and frankly, Anytime Workout is my preferred gym, over Planet Fitness, the YMCA, and LA Fitness. From what I've seen, Gold's is a joke. The first membership I would drop is LA Fitness. All the employees at this Lanham location are very kind and the clientele is very supportive of other members. They are providing a great community and I'm sure you'll fit right in. I hope this helps with your decision-making process. No matter which gym you join, make sure you FULLY understand their billing and cancellation policies.

Nicky is wonderful and communicates quickly and efficiently. She is kind and supports local organizations which is what I look for in a business. She supports the Ulman foundation and hosts young people impacting by cancer so we can focus on us and escape for a bit. My expectation is not that the salt cave experience replaces my medical advice from my doctors or care team. I have been to the salt cave 4-5 times and then chose to host a birthday party in the cave with sound medication. I had the place with just my 5 girlfriends and it was so fun. Just FYI, I love the sound medication but if you have sound sensitivity know going in it's a lot of different types of sounds and can get loud or high pitched. I will absolutely go back and book a private party for the salt cave. It's an amazing atmosphere with a sauna and Nicky runs groups and has an e-mail blast with all the upcoming events. I am in no way affiliated or being compensated for this review, I honestly am just so thankful for Nicky, her support of Ulman, and her kind vibe. Can't wait for my next visit!

I'm trying to live a healthier lifestyle and the first step I'm hearing from the fitness community…read moreinvolved detoxing the system. While looking for a colonic black owned business, I stumbled upon Inspired Thru Nature. As I began browsing their website, I noticed one service I always wanted to try, the ionic foot detox (scheduled a colonic for another time). An ionic foot detox is said to work by pulling the toxins out of your body through your feet. I texted the number on the website and sent an email requesting an appointment for two and luckily, the business had a dual machine and was able to do a couple's detox. Response was quick and a few hours after my initial contact. The owner is very accommodating and helps to work around your schedule. As you walk in, you're asked to complete paper work, a quick two/three page doc. We were then escorted to the back room, sat on a comfy sofa and advised of the purpose of each device we were being connected to.... a wrist wrap, foot basin w/ sea salt, and warm waist wrap (for comfort). She started the machine and checked on us a few times throughout the process allowing us to relax and enjoy the soft music and aromatherapy smells in the air. During and after the treatment she explained what toxins was being release based on a color chart. Once done, our foots were removed from the tub and placed in a regular soaking basin to clean off followed by the owner drying our feet off and providing a quick oil rub massage. I highly recommend these and the many other ways to detox the body (cleanses/colonics). Our systems are overloaded with high levels of toxicity from the harmful chemicals in our hygiene products, cleaning products, foods we eat, and natural airborne toxins. The liver/kidneys works overtime to filter them out so detox methods are a great way to help out.

I moved to MD last November and was happy to see there was a colonic wellness center in my area…read more(literally about 8 minutes away). I was even more excited after I noticed the 5-star reviews and it was Black-owned. During my first visit, the noticed how clean the area was - which is a PLUS! Depending on what kind of person you are, Pam is not very welcoming nor does she say a lot. So if you're a person that requires that level of attention, then I'd pass on this place. The prices are a little high from what I'm used to ($85 per visit), but I was curious to inquire about any special discount packages Pam was offering. The rule is, you come three times, but on your 3rd visit, it goes from $85 to $65. What wasn't communicated to me was that you have to come within a week of each other. I spaced mine out over 2 months and was quite surprised that during my third visit, I had to pay $85. After she explained that they had to be done within a week of each service, I let it go --- and paid the $85 for the third visit although, she never communicated that to me in the beginning. I was thinking she'd meet me in the middle and have me pay $75, but nope. And I let that go... Well... I started a "new series" with her and this is when it began to get weird. I would text her and she would be late responding or would hit me up the day before an appointment that I never scheduled. Or, she wouldn't remember when you came/didn't come (she keeps a really bad time sheet in a manila envelope in a large file cabinet). There was even one time I booked with her and the next day, her assistant never showed up which was a total inconvenience to me. She kept saying she would make up for it etc etc. and when she finally did... she tried to charge me $85?!?! I went through my phone and gave her each time I came etc. She was missing a visit (of course) which brought my total from $85 to $65 -- then I looked at her like "Ummmm, didn't you say you were going to give me a discount for the no-show incident." She gave me a discount --- it was $10 off. So, I received $10 off of a service when you didn't show up for a confirmed appointment that I had to move my schedule around for? Wow! Whenever I patronize businesses, I will give you an opportunity to make it right before I make the decision to not come back. As a business owner, you have to truly ask yourself "am I doing the right thing by the customer?" or "Is there something else I should be doing to make my customer's experience better" or "If I was in their shoes, would I come back?" Maybe she was like that previously hence the 5-star reviews, but I don't think it holds in 2019. I haven't been back nor will I.
