My husband and I went here for a quick Saturday lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We shared the Pre-Game Combo Platter and everything there was so delicious. I got the Power Bowl as my meal and the sauce in it was so tangy and delicious and the rice was the perfect temperature and texture. It was incredibly filling and went great with my side of street corn. My husband inhaled his wings and broccoli. They no longer offer the veggie burgers, but the salads, mac & cheese entree, power bowl entree, and a build your own flatbread are still good options for me as a vegetarian. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. He always made sure we had plenty to drink at our table. The booths were nice and comfortable and the TV screens definitely give you multiple options for sports to watch while you are eating. I also enjoyed how the lights were slightly dimmed, which helped because it was so bright and hot outside. It was a great time all around. read more

I ordered tonight small salad,12 wings and mozzarella stick.I stay in Clover I had looked at my food but didn't think I had to count my wings out.I get all the way home and only have 11 wings.I called back to speak to manager I forgot his name.But all he was offering me was if and when I come that way ask for a extra wing or he could try and tap back in on the card we use to pay to take off one wing.For all I paid and my time there that's unacceptable.This is not the 1st time I had a issue last time my mozzarella sticks were over cooked and I had to have them cooked over before I left.I want be back to this location. In town visiting family and we decided to stop here last night (5/18/26). Everyone is super nice. Must make up for the awful food/service. Order wings/fries...emphasized SEVERAL times please fry crispy. Received my food and wings were pink on the inside!!! I'm good don't want anything. Son-in-law ordered a sandwich and asked for no cheese...lo and behold had cheese on it. Then they forgot my grandson's apple juice. She kept walking by, then said they were out. Let me start by saying our food and service were top notch! Our experience was great, until myself and another person in our group finished our beverages at approximately the same time. The manager, (Robbie I believe) seemingly noticed at that exact moment and proceeded to scold the server (who was doing an amazing job) in front of our table to the point she was in tears. When she returned with our drinks we all let her know how great of a job she was doing and to keep her head up, she smiled and wiped tears from her face once again. We were a group of 4 ordering takeout and mostly explored HT's extensive appetizer choices. Something to definitely order again is the shrimp in a spicy sesame sauce with crispy broccoli and mushrooms. The small Tavern salad was a good size and the street corn side had a lot of flavor. Our nachos tray was huge, but toppings were mostly sauce and peppers. A bit of chili was hiding and saved it from being totally bland. Biggest disappointment: the chicken quesadillas were dry, underfilled, and cold. Mozzarella "wedges" turned out to be mozzarella "sticks" -- nothing special. And Finally, an order of fries was OVER salted, really a waste. We would go again because it's convenient and our order was complete and ready at the pickup time. Service was very slow despite small number of diners and plenty of servers. Food was good but waitress disappeared for long stretches. We got only a customer copy of bill and had to ask for merchant copy to sign. Server didn't understand why we needed merchant copy. Duh. We visit this location every couple of months. We arrived about 6:45 on a Monday. We were completely forgotten watching people who were seated after us. The explanation was having to "restart the grill". I guess their burgers didn't need to be cooked? We had previously stopped going here for several years due to poor service. Looks like history will repeat itself. Pity really, it's close to home and the food is pretty good, but 1 hour 45 minutes for a hamburger is ridiculous. read more

1-9-2026 There were large parties not enough help to run the place. My waitress didn't have time to take my order so someone else got our drinks and took our food order so basicaly I never saw our waitress until she finally stopped and asked if we needed anything.We asked for ketchup but it literally took 10 minutes. We needed refills on our drinks. My wife had to get up and go get them. My steak was overcooked on the outside. We had not eat at this restaurant for quite a few years until about a month ago and it had improved greatly at that time. I commented to the GM that night that it had changed greatly but the last several times it has gone back to the old inefficient and poor service and food quality as before. We have been several times and it has always been consistent. We usually sit at the same table at the edge of the bar area and ordered the same thing. We are that predictable! He gets the shrimp appetizer and the turkey melt for his entree. I get the pretzel bites appetizer and chicken fingers and fries for my main. It is always fresh, always hot, and we always have great service. I would not hesitate to stop in whether you want to watch a game, meet with friends, or get together with the family. Ok, when I go to hickory tavern i order the classic tavern burger. every. single. time. BUTT when i order my burger I ask for no cheese, and they put cheese on it every. single. time. honestly I don't know why they put cheese on it every single time but every single time I ask for no cheese and they still put cheese and it angers me because I hate cheese and I just they've never told me like "oh we can't make changes to orders" I tell them "hey Id like the classic Tavern burger but with NO cheese" and every single time without fail they bring it to me with cheese I don't know why because they agree to putting no cheese on it like when I tell them no cheese they're like "yeah that's no problem" but yet they still put cheese and it's a big problem because it ruins my mood and next time we go to Hickory Tavern they will be hearing about this. One thing I have noticed though is the patties themselves are super crumbly like they make all their burgers have two patties and the patties like fall apart super easily so maybe they just like put the cheese on there because they're like "is the customer gonna complain about having cheese on the burger or are they gonna complain about having a crumbly burger?" so maybe that's why, but maybe just don't sell crumbly burgers. read more

Said we wouldn't go back after the bad quality of food and service last time but wanted to give it one more chance which was a mistake. Hickory Tavern is a cute bar and grill Atmosphere. Inside the Tavern was an A+. Service was fabulous, but the wings were not so good. Starting with the fact I asked for buffalo wings with a side of fries and the wings came plain and the fries were so over seasoned with salt that you couldn't eat them. I had a couple gift cards for hickory tavern b/c I used to really like going there. However my last few experiences have been so bad. My server was fine. She brought the bill. It was $32 but $39 was taken off the card. Seemed like I had been charged a 20% tip but when she dropped off the bill she mentioned that I wouldn't be able to tip on the gift card. When I pointed out what appeared to have happened, I was told I was making a big deal out of nothing. In the end it may have been an honest mistake but the way I was treated was not. No explanation, no apology, and when I sent an email no response. I always enjoy eating here, this place has been a staple for me since childhood. I get a cheeseburger with chips every-time and it never disappoints. The service was excellent. The food was excellent. We happened to go on a day that they started using the revamped menu. This was my first time so I can't compare their selections to previous menu items, but the menu and the items I saw ... they all looked great! I had the garlic parmesan wings and they were perfectly cooked! They were seasoned very well with the flavoring ... not too overpowering at all. It was all good. Hickory Tavern used to be one of our favorite dinner spots before Covid. Last week, we were invited out with friends and landed back at your restaurant and our experience was wonderful! We returned a few days later on our own and again were very pleased! A great atmosphere for football, a true sports bar, experience with a cozy family style atmosphere. The food was delicious, as I had the cheesesteak sandwich and chili, both delicious. The only drawback is that they were not hot but lukewarm at best. The service was really good even though our waitress had a large number of tables. I'm not sure if this place will be a regular on our list, but this experience was a 2 star expierence but I will give it a three because of our waitress, Kendra.
