My friend in LA ordered flowers for me for my birthday (it may have been through a national chain who fields out work to local companies. The bouquet from Hibiscus arrived on time on Dec 24th and looked pretty, though she said that she ordered all purple, which the bouquet was not. Still, not the end of the world. However, it is now two days later and several of the flowers are dead. Here is what remains alive after two days, by Dec 26. They failed to deliver! Terrible service, prices shown have nothing to do with final charges. Ordered flowers on Monday morning, to be delivered to a friend who lives one block from flower shop. 1:00pm Tuesday, learned flowers never delivered!!!! I had made it clear I wanted delivery ASAP. I ordered from their pictures, price listed as 'Sale, $69.99', chose, 'Premium', $72.98. Within seconds I received an invoice for $99.60 without any explanation or breakdown of the additional 30% added on. No apology when I called or explanition. I live across the country and I've ordered flowers a few times for various occasions from Hibiscus and every time they've been delivered first thing in the morning and it's always been a gorgeous arrangement. This most recent order was pretty disappointing though. I ordered the flowers more than a week prior for a birthday and paid as always to have them locally hand delivered. By 1pm they still hadn't been delivered so I called Hibiscus, and at first they couldn't find my order which meant to me that had I not called, the order probably wouldn't have gone out. I asked if they had an estimate for when the order might be delivered so I didn't have to have my mom sit at home all day waiting. The woman I spoke to frankly wasn't very friendly and wanted to know why I wanted a time estimate at all. Finally she told me they'd be delivered before 5pm and they were at 4:30pm. I only got a quick glance at the flowers over FaceTime because my mom was rushing out the door for dinner (which again is why I wanted an delivery estimate) but in all honestly the arrangement looked fine, not as spectacular as they've looked previously. I just feel that for nearly $100 of flowers, the overall experience I had this time was subpar. read more

I went here recently to buy flowers for my girlfriend's graduation. I gave them a very rough idea of what my girlfriend likes (hydrangeas and yellow :)) and they just rolled with it and created this beautiful arrangement! The only thing I'd say is call ahead because the location is hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for. Not really a store front, just a white door that was actually locked and no sign. I really liked my experience with this company, being in this quarantined new normal. This black-owned, women-owned company was very lovely in dealing with my last minute Mother's Day order. I went online and tried to order online with a pickup. When confused, I called the number, and spoke to a very hospitable person who walked me through placing my order. When picking it up I mistakenly went to the wrong address, and them closing in an hour, they were again very nice and understanding. When getting there they came right out, placed the arrangement in my cars, with gloves and mask on. I was still able to feel her cheerful energy! I was a little upset with the size of the arrangement for the money I paid, but hey that's flowers for you. I've run into the picture vs reality issues with other florists in the past so I'll chalk that up to the industry. Overall, because of their lovely nature in this crazy time, I would come hear again. Wow I won't use any other flower shop from now on! I ordered a friend some flowers for a recent promotion. They were there in less than 24 hrs. I had a follow up question before they were delivered since I wasn't sure my friend would actually be home. When I called the woman helped me very quickly and even put a note for the driver to contact the friend to make sure she was home. So, today is Valentines day, its the 2nd time my husbands ordered from Hibiscus, and I have to say both times the flowers were fresh, and beautifully arranged, with no crappy fillers. (In Chelsea last year my husband bought a $80 arrangement that died the NEXT day) the last time from Hibiscus they lasted 15 days. So I was pleasantly surprised by their work and will definitely keep trying them out. When my nephew was born at midnight, I was suddenly scrambling to find a place to send the new family of 3 welcome home flowers. The website made it really easy to place an order. I called the next day just to make sure the order had been received. I found out that I had placed an order that ordinarily wouldn't be delivered on weekends because it wasn't local. However, whoever answered the phone told me they had realized it was for a new baby (I had added an "It's a Boy" balloon) and went ahead and made the order for me anyway and would have it delivered the very same day! It was completely unnecessary for them but they went above and beyond and I can't recommend them enough! The flowers are gorgeous and the service was excellent!!! I had bought the flowers using PayPal (my first time using it). The area I wanted the flowers delivered to was too far out of their delivery range. Christa was quick to email me to let me know that the delivery address was outside their range (super fast notification, she got back to me that day, if not the next). No problem, they made no fuss about issuing the refund. The only trouble I had was with getting PayPal to actually deposit the refund to my account. I didn't know what the deal was, so I emailed back and forth with Christa about it, and we were able to get it worked out. She was really awesome! She was super patient and understanding with me about the whole situation, and stayed in constant communication with me to make sure that everything was going as it should. She made the whole experience of dealing with Hibiscus Flowers a thoroughly pleasant one. TL;DR Wasn't able to buy anything, but because of the pleasant attitudes and the speed/high degree of communication of the staff, I will definitely be taking a trip out to this flower shop whenever I'm in Brooklyn. They're so great! I've ordered twice, for two of my friends--one in the Bronx and one in Brooklyn. Both times I ordered late the night before, or the morning of, and the flowers were delivered hours later! Customer service is also great--they are super prompt answering questions via email.
