They told us our room was ready and then they changed their mind and said it wasn't ready and that we had to wait a half hour and we should go to the tiki bar when we tried to get couldn't because we didn't have a room key yet my needed a computer charger. They told us no problem. They'd have one sent to our room, but that never happened when we did get into the tiki bar we ordered mahi tacos and were given pork. we asked our waitress to charge our the room, she said she could not do that. The pool was wonderful. The hot tub was nice. The view of the lake was remarkable. The rooms were very comfortable. We got to see deer right outside our window. We were celebrating our 36th anniversary we checked in on Monday night. We wanted to have dinner at the boat club. They told us there was one table available. I was so excited until she came back and told me sorry we are completely full. I asked I could change the time of my reservation and she said no only two servers tonight and they could not squeeze one more table. That was a huge disappointment for us because that's why we chose the place.

The property is based on a lake with so many activities like kayaking etc . There is a gated pool area for people who are staying at the lodge itself. If I was to return, I definitely would possibly stay here as it is close to lots of different trails and amenities and access to the lake which is absolutely stunning and is a must do. The weather was not the best when we went so we couldn't enjoy much outdoors .. but would love to visit and stay at this property ! 100% recommend

Great hotel in downtown Whitefish!…read more I was in town for business and stayed 1 night at the Firebrand and had a great time! I confirmed my airport shuttle the day before with Shannon over the phone. She was kind and very informative regarding the area and how to make the most of my time there. I didn't rent a car so I loved that the Free SNOW bus was running and hopped on it to do some sightseeing at the top of the mountain. After I was finished exploring, I checked out the beautiful rooftop and hot tub.... Really nice views! And luckily there were lots of dinner options nearby also! The bed was comfy, the shower was great, and the room was quiet. The Nespresso machine pumped out a good cup of coffee in the morning, which I appreciated. Overall, really enjoyed my stay here and would love the opportunity to stay again. If you're looking for good accommodations in the downtown Whitefish area, I'd highly recommend giving the Firebrand a try! Happy Travels!

Firebrand - downtown Whitefish…read more I stayed here 6 days at the end of August. I'll start with "the good." The hotel is in a perfect location if you enjoy walking to restaurants and shops. Firebrand had an excellent breakfast. There was usually a wait for the food to arrive after ordering but it was worth it. Happy hour was also very nice. Great prices - tasty apps. The servers at both breakfast and dinner were delightful. The upstairs, outdoor area was beautiful and tranquil. The hotel was decorated in a lodge theme, which was, obviously, on point, very interesting and beautiful. Unfortunately the sofa in front of the fireplace had two long slits in the cushions. Management should definitely take time to have that repaired. It's uncomfortable and unsightly. I guess we're sliding toward "the bad." Our first night we got little sleep. Normally I don't comment on loud guests, etc. That usually has little to do with the hotel. Apparently a room across the hall had music playing loudly, which we could not hear. Another room complained to the front desk. The front desk sent an employee to request the music be turned down. There was apparently no response from the guests in the room. The employee continued to bang and beat on the door for a very long time- then said employee went outside to banged on the windows. That did not wake the guests. So the employee came back in and banged on the door more. This went on for a what seemed like an eternity. Next, our room was not clean. I can honestly say it was dirty. Everyday there would be young men (I think the hotel had an exchange program where university students in other countries could come and live / work in the US for the summer) in the hallways, blowing up cleaning gloves and hitting them to each other as a game. Even though we were not in our room, and did not have a do not disturb sign on the door, our room did not get cleaned. We finally figured it out. If they waited until we returned to the room to rest before dinner; we would just request towels. Then they could forgo the cleaning. (On our 6 day trip, our room was made up once.) The last zinger (which I brought to the attention of the very nice front desk person, Shannon) was the door hanger for do not disturb, which said, "Busy." It was a view from outside a keyhole spying in on a woman. This is totally inappropriate. Are you promoting the stalking of women? Do you think they should be spied on and unsafe in hotel rooms? This is total tone deaf in a culture where woman should feel safe traveling alone and whose safety should not be joked about. Whitefish was delightful. I do not think I'd stay at this Firebrand Hotel again because there would be no way to assure these negatives had been addressed.

Shayla, our host, texted us ahead of time to make sure we were all set for a smooth check-in. That small gesture alone made us feel genuinely cared for. Each day, Shayla prepared the most delicious homemade baked goods, which made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Since we planned to head to Glacier National Park early each day, she kindly packed to-go breakfasts for us--always thoughtful, fresh, and satisfying. On the mornings we stayed in, she served beautiful homemade breakfasts that were just as delicious. The extra touches throughout the lodge made our stay even more special--the self-serve charcuterie, fresh fruit, and beverages were such a nice bonus. The lodge itself was peaceful and quiet, which we really appreciated. We stayed for five nights and can confidently say this was one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. The inn itself is beautiful - elegant while remaining cozy and welcoming, intimate, impeccably appointed and filled with all the details that make a place feel truly special. But what sets Garden Wall Inn apart is something much harder to describe and even harder to find: the extraordinary care behind absolutely everything. Nothing feels routine. My glass of wine was beautifully presented on a silver tray. There is a wonderful selection of pillows, excellent lighting, lovely linens and chocolates waiting at bedtime. Beautiful china and silver turn breakfast into an occasion. And those breakfasts! Local fruits and yogurts, the owners incredible baking and one delicious surprise after another, all beautifully prepared and presented. I may have come home a pound or two heavier, but every single ounce was worth it! Even our departure was made special. The restaurant in the hotel is very overpriced. We looked online at their menu online before heading to the restaurant. Once there, we discovered the restaurant the prices were higher. I would think it's easier to change the prices online than print new menus. The new menus had the higher prices. The hotel is VERY CLOSE to a railroad crossing! BEWARE! Train whistles go all night. Impossible to ignore. If you must stay at this "resort" get a room on the second floor. It may be quieter. Once we just got to sleep with the train whistles, we were awakened both nights we were here with what seemed to be a stampede between 2am and 4am from thoughtless people in the room above. The ceilings/floors are thin and not noise proof. The daily resort fee is just a cash grab. They say it's for the pool (small, indoor) room amenities (foamy coffee) and WiFi and some other things. Lastly, the confirmation email I received just SIX weeks before our stay mentioned the daily breakfast buffet being $18 per person. The buffet is now $28 per person! I asked the morning front desk attendant on 9/22/26 (who looked like she just rolled out of bed, and couldn't say good morning if her life depended on it) said that "was last year's prices". Then why was is it priced at $18 in an email I received just six weeks ago? That's not last year, and they raised it 30%? That's just form! It tells me they've lost track of the details it takes to be good. "I'll tell my manager", she said. I have to doubt that.
