    Smoke alarm hanging from wires

1 star for th Chalet Inn in Whitefish MT. Would NEVER go back. Would tell everyone to save your money. Motel 6 would have been better. First sign of how this experience was gonna go should have been during check-in when the owner told us not to have our dog go to the bathroom on her new plants that she planted in the back but instead have him go in the grass of the businesses next to the hotel (I'm sure they'd love that). List of issues: -We were on the 1st floor, when the people staying above us used the shower...water LITERALLY came out of a air vent in our bathroom and in to our shower!!!! Disgusting. (Video posted) -No one was ever in the office. Instead they'd hang a sign telling you to call, which they never answered and never or responded to text messages... Only hours later. Which when your asking for towels, toilet paper or a working hair dryer tends to be urgent requests. So waiting HOURS isn't appropriate, especially when you know your clientele is there for the national park which people typically want to get to early and are at all day. If you have your number on a sign for assistance, answer the damn phone. -The doorknobs on every since room were on the verge of falling off and crocked. -The smoke detector was hanging from wires in our room. -The room itself smelled. -We had 1 and 1/2 rolls of toilet paper for a 3 night reservation, when I contacted the owner I received no response which has been the same response rate for everything else that was asked about. -All of the outlets were overloaded, be careful plugging stuff in! -No breakfast offered. -Tried to have laundry done, but again since they'd take hours to respond we were not able to have any done. This is a major issue as most come here on a road trip. Calling yourself a boutique hotel is like putting lipstick on a pig. Just bc the motel is small and individually owned does not mean it's a boutique hotel. The only personality this hotel offered was loud traffic as you were right next to the main drag with a trailer park behind the place... Oh and metal chairs to sit outside on. For $230 a night you should be able to expect basic accommodations and not have someones shower water draining in to your bathroom. Turn around....Book somewhere else.

After flying into…read moreBozeman and making the 5-hour drive to Whitefish, we arrived later than expected--but the self-check-in instructions were clear, detailed, and easy to follow. Shayla, our host, texted us ahead of time to make sure we were all set for a smooth check-in. That small gesture alone made us feel genuinely cared for. Each day, Shayla prepared the most delicious homemade baked goods, which made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Since we planned to head to Glacier National Park early each day, she kindly packed to-go breakfasts for us--always thoughtful, fresh, and satisfying. On the mornings we stayed in, she served beautiful homemade breakfasts that were just as delicious. The extra touches throughout the lodge made our stay even more special--the self-serve charcuterie, fresh fruit, and beverages were such a nice bonus. The lodge itself was peaceful and quiet, which we really appreciated. We stayed for five nights and can confidently say this was one of our favorite places we've ever stayed. Thank you, Good Medicine Lodge, for such a memorable experience!

As we stepped through the front door, we were greeted by a garden full of blooming peonies--such a lovely and welcoming touch. The house was immaculate, and everything was clearly labeled with helpful instructions. Whether you were heading out for a day in Glacier National Park or relaxing at the lodge, anything you could need was available--maps, bear spray, sunscreen, coolers, even wine and snacks for the trail. There were also cool drinks, water, and freshly baked goods waiting for us each evening--such thoughtful hospitality. Our bedroom was not the largest room in the lodge, but very comfortable. After long hikes in the park, we looked forward to soaking in the hot tub each evening. The backyard had BBQs, lawn games, and picnic tables--it would be a perfect place for a family reunion or even a small wedding. Kayla, our hostess, couldn't have been more helpful. She was warm, engaging, and full of great suggestions for exploring Glacier. She and her coworker Meghan prepared the most delicious breakfasts each morning--beautifully presented and thoughtfully tailored to our dietary needs. This place is truly a treasure. The owners are lucky to have Kayla and Meghan running the lodge with such heart and care. If you're visiting Whitefish, I highly recommend staying at Good Medicine Lodge.

I used Marriott points, and even that decent redemption was more points than I would have thought. The location is fine, but it's at the edge of Whitefish, definitely not near anything.
