She took us to our table and we were greeted immediately by our waitress who was also a sweetheart. The decor is to die! The appetizers came out within 5-10 minutes. And they were delicious!!' The noodle bowls were so mouthwateringly delicious! We got the shrimp tempura ramen and a beef ramen dish .And the pricing won't send you home broke! So overall, 10 stars if possible. Will definitely return again.

The decor was awesome and I loved how it reminded me of Japan. The servers were also all very nice, and our food came quickly. I ordered: - Honey Lemon tea with honey boba (4/5) the tea was good but the boba itself was way too sweet. - Soy Garlic Chicken Wings (4/5) not bad - Shrimp Tempura Ramen (3/5) I loved the noodles but wish that there wasn't so much bamboo and thought the shrimp tempura was more breadcrumb than shrimp A friend also ordered the sushi tacos and mentioned the avocado was more like guacamole than real avocado -- otherwise she liked them. Also, one toilet in the women's bathroom was clogged and wouldn't flush, and the other toilet had pee all over the floor.

After a team get together, I had the munchies. My coworker and I wanted to walk around the block,…read moreand I noticed this small sushi spot. I decided to satisfy my craving with seafood! It's located across of The 'World Famous' Waiting Room and La Chula Latin Fusion on E Cherry St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. The shop was a very cute hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Upon entering, we were greeted by an older Asian chef making the rolls. I ordered their Rahway Roll with shrimp tempura for takeout, and it was amazing! The sauce was delicious, there wasn't an excessive amount of rice, and it had a generous amount of minced salmon and large shrimp, which I loved. The tempura was still very crunchy, even though it was takeout. It was just one roll to satisfy my craving, but it was really satisfying. Great prices, good food based on the one roll I had ordered. The next time I'm in Rahway, I will definitely keep this place in mind.

They don't clean their bathrooms well though, I went in and found a dirty toilet that hasn't been flushed. In terms of the food, it was average sushi. I wish the rolls were bigger, and their ginger didn't taste very fresh. My favorite roll was their salmon and avocado roll with good salmon to avocado and even rice ratio. On the menu our 3 rolls combo came with a miso soup, but when we ordered another round they asked if we wanted the second soup. That wouldn't be a problem but if I pay for what is offered, regardless if I finish it or not, should be served because it was what I payed for. Very cheap of the establishment. My service was fine, but I did notice that a woman particularly treated costumers in a condescending way. Most likely a boss or manager (not a waitress), but as I watched her serve others behind the register, her tone was off and not your average costumer service act. Seems to be a pattern within reviews I've read. Food is okay, could fix their cleanliness and professionalism for sure.

Next came a Tuna and Avocado salad the server recommended. The Yuzu dressing was fresh and citrusy. It was definitely enough for two to share. The sushi here was amazing. It was so fresh and delicious. We shared a Sashimi Deluxe which included 18 thick pieces of sashimi including 3 pieces of Amberjack fish and beautiful, deep red Tuna with a daily special called the Triple Blue Fin Tuna Roll. The Blue Fin Tuna roll was mainly fish and delish. The servers were great. They normally have just 2 seatings a night at 6pm and 8pm, but when we called and asked for a 7pm reservation they were very accommodating. This feels like a neighborhood restaurant with big city quality. The ambiance was just right for a low key Thursday night dinner. We will definitely be back and will bring friends.

The lemon salmon with mushrooms was not only delicious but also an enormous portion. The roasted duck confit with green beans and mushroom risotto was another highlight--risotto is rarely nailed, but this one was perfectly balanced and spot on. The only downside was that the duck could've used a touch more salt and arrived less hot than expected. As usual, I ordered the smoked duck appetizer, which is always beautifully presented in a smoke-filled dome. Unlike my entree which wasn't hot enough, I wish it had been served colder this time- it was a bit too warm. The miso soup and seaweed salad are always solid, but I actually prefer the spicy versions of both. They add more flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy. Desserts are delicious, the sesame ice cream that comes with the bread pudding and cheesecake is some of my favorite- I wish I could buy a pint of it to bring home. Big fan of Wasai, both their French and Japanese, but it's just missing that 5th star for me.
