This salon is under new management. Really nice ladies own and operate this salon now. I have done walk in twice and have had no problems getting service. I get there early am during the week. They take a nice long time massaging your legs and feet with scrub and then lotion. The girl who did my mani was so gentle with her arm and hand massage, no pulling on your thumbs. This time I had my eyebrows waxed. They look great. I walked out one hour after I walked in looking and feeling better. Super convenient location near QFC. Highly recommend! read more

I have gone to this nail salon for several years for a pedicure because it is close to home. I always go first thing on a Monday morning and although their opening time is 9:00 a.m., they are never on time. It's irritating, but I was always pleased with the person that did my pedicure so I continued to go there. That changed today. They opened even later than normal, so at 9:20, I left and came back after 10:00. The only attendant was a different person than normal and she was so rough it was very painful. I actually made a loud 'owww' and a man even came out of the back room and looked at me, but didn't say anything. I told the gal that she was hurting me, but she didn't stop being rough. I wanted to wait until I absolutely decided that I'd never go there again. My last visit there was just the straw that broke the camels back. The attraction is the salon itself which is very large and high ceilings with lots of room, making you feel safer during these Covid times, Also the location is so convenient next to the market in the mall. In no way does that compensate for the awful people who run it. She looks like she's so miserably unhappy all the time I've never seen the woman smile. She doesn't say a word and over charges for everything and is not very good even after all these years at shaping acrylics. The husband the male owner is so hostile. You cannot request anything or ask for anything he will come up with 100 reasons not to do anything you want. When I tell him the nails he's put on my fingers are crooked and this is happened to my friend there too he says my fingers grow that way. They do not! When he gets annoyed with you he twist your arms and hands grabs you and literally hurts you. This last time though he was so hostile he kept sticking his finger nail under my nails and finally made a big cut and I bled all over. This is someone who should not be in the service business. I have gone there for many years because of the convenience and the price I don't think he's ever said more than 10 words to me in that time. No one speaks to you the only thing they say when you walk in the doors pick a color in a very nasty way. Maybe it's possible after all these years here they still don't speak or understand English I don't know. It's really hit and miss whether he does a nice job or not. Occasionally they'll come out really nice and then other times they are just awful. I guess it just depends on his mood. I can see where this is getting to be common for everyone because the place is almost always empty and all the other salons all around are busy nonstop, you need appointments to get in. The other younger woman who works there and does most of the pedicures is very sweet and does a good job. I don't think she looks very happy there it looks as if she's scared of those two. I have also experienced what other people talk about if they do have business which they used to they'll do two or three people at a time doesn't matter whether have an appointment or not they just let you sit there for a half an hour while they go start someone else in the middle of your manicure. My full set looked nothing like I asked for. The tips are all uneven. The Polish job is horrible. She cut my finger. Even left part of the Polish that she bumped unfinished. And a piece of brush hair in the Polish. When the service was done she went to the back so I couldn't even talk to her about it. Super rude. Offered no correction. Do not go here. Three stars is for my first service with a pedi no complaints and took me in right away not have a seat and sit for 30 min. However I went last week for a gel on my bare nails. The tech was hurting me with cuticle clippers but not enough to complain (?) . Then she applied polish. I asked for a snowflake pattern on two nails. One nail looks great the other looks as if she sneezed maybe it happened upon drying? I chalked that all up to my fault not saying anything. But I'm writing now because my gel is lifting I see that the gel touched my nail bed which we all know is a no no. So as my nail is growing out you can see the clumps of clear and of course if I try to push it back it tears the color. So I'll stick with the salon near Target or spa medallion does an excellent job as well but must make appt. hope this helps read more

Worst service ever!!! Don't go here!!! Took over 2 hours to get a fill and get my eyebrows waxed. Tech ignored me and my questions the entire time I was there. Refused to talk or even look at me. She kept getting up to use her cell phone, eat and generally just disappear for up to 20 minutes at a time with out explanation or apologies. Got nail polish all over my fingers and refused to fix. Several of my nails only have polish on part of my nail. Again she refused to fix when asked. During waxing the wax was boiling hot and she completely removed half of one of my eyebrows. Cheap place, I understand you get what you pay for, but come on. Me and my friend went to get her nails done. She was getting a full set (new) and I just wanted a normal manicure. Full sets take the longest and she was sat and worked on while I waited patiently across her and chatting (in an empty station) for 30 minutes. The lady then asked me to move to the station where I would be worked on and we could "talk" and she sat me at the other end of the salon with 3 customers in between me and my friend. Where I waited another 15 minutes. All they do is talk in there native language to each other and don't acknowledge me at all. She started clipping my cuticles and clipped a hangnail which bled for 10 minutes straight, even after she put stinging chemicals on it to attempt to stop the bleeding saying "so sorry, so sorry, thin skin" and then laughing. It hasn't stopped bleeding so she painted my nails anyway and pushed one of my hands in front of a fan which smudged the polish. She then pushed my bag off the counter, saying I had smudged it on my bag. Worse manicure and polish job ever. Never ever ever going back. Don't waste any money on being annoyed. read more

Oh my God I went in for a manicure and a pedicure and it took them an hour to get my pedicure. At first I was OK with that since I was a walk-in and did not make an appointment. When she started my pedicure I was happy until I saw her grab the callus remover from the tub next to her last client and then she started using the same tools I was her last client. She was doing my nails at the same time other ladies that walked in after me and I saw pedicurist use the same tool she just used on me on the two other ladies. I am in awe and shock at this point. I'm grateful she didn't cut my cuticles otherwise I'd be soaking my feet in disinfectant at the moment. I paid her for her service but walked out I was definitely not getting a manicure. read more

Me and My mom came and wanted a cheap good ManiPedi and we were very impressed. They were very clean and friendly. My nails looked great for 35 dollars. I would completely recommend because there was no time that the lady doing my hands and feet didn't have her full attention. I would 10/10 recommend. Great salon, great staff, great price. read more

First a little background information. I live in Stanwood so this would really be the ideal place for me to have my nails done regularly. I've worked in customer service for most of my life so I really won't leave a bad review unless it's really warranted. I've spent hundreds of dollars at this salon because of the convenience. It's moments from my home so it saves the time and gas of going out of town. I typically get my acrylic nails filled and painted with Gel polish every two weeks often with nail art. I also get pedicures for myself and my kids about once a month. I've given this establishment many chances with my business but I need to inform others not to waste their time. I'm a believer that everyone has a bad day and sometimes it's just a one off. I started a new job out of retail and celebrated by getting acrylic nails. I've never had much luck keeping them nice and not cracking them in my previous line of work. I had them done by the man that works there. I asked for them in French style. I also like them very short so they look pretty but not get into my way. He left them longer than I like but my bad for not telling him that they still were too long. After I got home I noticed that he left few jagged pieces on the underside on my nail. This was more irritating because I would catch it things for the next couple weeks. After two weeks I went back to get them filled. I had a woman this time and she did a better job at their overall appearance. She spent a good deal of time on the phone while she worked on my fill. This time they yellowed and looked terrible after a few days. I happened to visit a different salon two weeks later who recommended gel polish and did a great job. The kids and I decided to go treat ourselves to pedicures. I wear sandal 99% of the time in the summer so my feet were desperately in need to some attention. I paid for a deluxe pedicure. I must have had a small wound from some dry skin peeling. A couple days after my pedicure my foot was extremely tender and pussy around the wound. I don't know if it was directly related to the pedicure but I have never experienced this before. So I'm ready to need another fill. I had an event that evening and was limited on time so instead of using my better judgement I decided to go here again. I got the man again. He first tried using nail polish remover on my polish until I told him it was gel polish. He started using his grinder to remove it. Several times it felt like I could feel the grinder either getting too hot or too close to my nail bed. My feelings were confirmed when I had to jerk my hand away and yelled ouch. He said sorry and kept going. I asked for a Seahawks theme. He picked out a blue and green polish, but never offered gel polish. If you have a customer with gel polish......wouldn't you want to upsell?! I obviously have it because I like that it doesn't chip. He apparently didn't want to deal with painting and doing my nail art because he made another woman step in to do that. After leaving and really looking at them she did a sloppy job and the colors weren't on spot at all. The green looked like puke green when outside. I feel like this business is only interested in making a buck and not interested in doing a good job or their reputation. We will not be returning. I'm happy enough with pedi. But I had my eyebrows waxed and am just leaving urgent clinic due to contact dermatitis! My eye is swollen shut! I'm used to a bit of redness and even minor puffiness but the itching started within 2 hours and the swelling continued for 24 hours. I'm wondering about the cleanliness of the tools as well as the wax "pen" they used. Never seen this used before and if they are rubbing wax on different clients from same pen then this is not hygienic. STAY AWAY!!!! I'm now on steroids and prescription strength antihistamines. I used to come to this nail salon cuz they were great and my nails always came out fantastic and exactly the way I wanted them! Made an appointment for 4pm to get a whole new set done cuz my natural nails grew out so much and looked gross. As I was waiting more people came in without an appointment and so they finally called me over to sit down and the gentleman working there started to do my nails and using the machine to file them down but he was filing them so much I could feel my nailbed start to burn. I had some missing nails that's how bad I needed them done so he put tips on the ones that were gone but didn't on the ones that were falling off and then he started to put the powder on top and I told him I wanted a whole new set and he tried to tell me my natural nail was strong but I told him I don't want to have half of them fake and half of them real nail that's not what I asked for. Then he leaves me sitting there for 10 minutes to go work on one of the other people that didn't have an appointment. He was filing and shaping the nail to the point where my finger started to bleed on the side. I showed him the design I wanted and tried to make me feel bad cuz I know he didn't want to do it so I changed it Wich I didn't want to. I'm so unhappy and not pleased at all!!! I went to this place because of the convenience factor i just moved to the area and didn't have time to go to my regular nail place not only were they extremely rude but they did a quick job and the letter who painted my nails was terrible,three days later my nails crumbled and literally fell off underneath they were green and.it took weeks for.it to.go away awful will never recommend or go there again #!!! read more

If I hadn't been treated so abhorrently today, I probably wouldn't have felt so compelled to write this review. However, in the best interest of anyone researching the pros & cons of getting services at the Stanwood salon here is my two-cents-worth: My visit today was to get "french nails", and a full face waxing . I also brought my daughter who wanted to get basic acrylic nails. I became concerned when the following occurred within the first 15 minutes as services began. 1) My real nails were NOT cut down close to the quick, were not shaped or filed - the result, looking at the underside of the tips you can actually see the real nails, it already looks like a grow-out; 2) It appeared that the tips were adhered with "Super Glue", - however, this could just be a similar appearance relating to the container. As far as the actual adhesive application, when you look at the underside of my french tips you can actually see the adhesive that oozed out beyond my actual nails (which are too long); this was not cleaned up in the finishing stages; 3) The tips were applied, and two of them appeared crooked when you look at the smile lines; one on my thumb and the other on my ring finger both on the same hand. When I tried to mention it to the woman providing the service, she got up to GO HELP ANOTHER CLIENT who had been seated to wait at a different nail booth! She quickly said, "Don't worry they will be beautiful". She came back and as I tried to discuss it further she gave me counterpoint reasoning stating that, "[MY] real nail smiles are crooked and that this was the only way to prevent them from showing through". Result, she did not remove them and reapply new tips; I still have two nails with off-angled smile lines; 4) After clipping the french tips and proceeding to file them, she pulled out a USED emery file! Just by the look of the file, I could immediately conclude that it had been USED MORE THAN a few occasions! Let me re-clarify, that all emery instruments used on me were this way, from the manual emery boards and nail buffers to the motorized nail files and buffers. (**I immediately was concerned that their manicuring instruments were probably not sterilized as well. Based on the fact that the instruments she used on me she pulled out of the drawer on her side of booth, and then when she was done using them on me, she put them back into the drawer.) Result, actual WA State Health Code violation. I foolishly thought that this was the worst my visit could get. I also DECIDEDLY choose NOT to have anyone in the salon touch my face! I witnessed several WAC 308-20-110 violations during my visit, including not washing hands between touching customers (since they did not wear disposable gloves) and using the same cloth for more than one person that had been used to catch clippings, etc-I was one of those persons! The above all literally happened within the first 15 minutes of my visit. I apologize to you now for the lengthy review, but I am determined to make sure that I leave no stone unturned, while making every effort to be as factual as possible while leaving out personal defamation comments. 5) The woman helping me also continued to get up from my station and bounce back and forth between (not one, but) THREE other customers! I tried to communicate to her that I did NOT want squared of nail tips but rather a more rounded end. She worked one of my pinky-finger nails only halfway to my desired effect, and in between interrupting servicing me and others, she then disregarded the remaining nails, and more importantly the overall appearance that I had requested of her. the result, I ended up with the squared of nail tips that I did not want. 6) She had her 17 year old nephew finalize the final phase of applying polish to my nails while she went on to assist another customer. The result, uneven polish application where some areas on the side of the nails are thin of polish or have no polish, and on two separate nails there is bubbling. [I know her nephew is 17 years old because another customer was inquiring about them and she stated his age.] 7) Lastly, at the stage of paying for services, I presented a $50 gift card to pay for both of us. Another man informed me that my daughter had already paid for her services. I requested that they reverse the charge to her credit account as I wanted to pay for both of us. Not only did they refuse during our discussion as I insisted this be done because it was "my treat" for her, both the woman and man became very confrontational (with excuses that they were not authorized to do that, and their boss had left for Vietnam) to the point I had to ask twice why he was yelling. Result, no reverse charge and $21 left on my gift card that is of no use to me, as I will never go back to either of their locations. *Final note, I could not find the salons' Professional License(s) on the WA State Dept of Licensing. read more

First time I went to Hi-Tek nails, I was a bit irritated because I felt like I was rushed through. I thought maybe it was an off day. I returned a month or so later, and the experience was much better. I brought my 10 year old daughter and her friend for child pedicure. I was impressed because they were treated like young adults, and paid special attention to them. They created a great experience. Last month I returned for a pedicure. I was expecting to be rushed through. However, this time it was amazing. Probably the best pedicure I had in a very long time. My toenails turned out very pretty, and my skin glowed. Compared with the other nail salons in the Stanwood area... Hi-Tek is definitely better. Price is lower. Just a little inconsistent depending on how busy they are. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had. I went in for a fill. The woman did not seem very knowledgeable about what she was doing. I told her once she had done the fill that I wasn't happy. It looked like some nails hadn't been filled and the acrylic was bumpy. She filed them down a little more but they looked terrible. The filled portion of the nails all chipped off within 2 days. She also filed the nails so thin that the edges have chipped off. Would definitely not recommend going here. read more

I can now say I will definitely be a returning customer! As soon as I walked in the kind lady had me seated despite how busy they were. If I had a choice I would give this place ZERO stars! My aunt and I went in to get our nails done. I had shellac done previously at another salon that I needed to have removed. They put the foil on my nails and left me sitting there for almost 45 minutes. Taking two other clients in the meantime. When the nail tech finally came over she started with one hand and got the majority of it off. During the second hand two ladies walked in for pedicures, did not have appointments, the nail tech barely touched the second hand before proclaiming that the polish was not ready to come off, then left to start on the pedicures. The only male in the shop, who is completely worthless in my opinion, then came over to take over the process. He cut the cuticle on my pinky finger which bled profusely, blaming me for "having skin that's too thin". The manicure that day looked like it had already had the 2 week grow out. Now, a week out from that, the shellac is coming off. They have a sign next to their register that points out that they do not give refunds, they will fix their mistakes within three days. Gee I wonder why? I'm sure they would be bankrupt by now if they gave refunds. No thanks...how about y'all save yourself the trouble and drive to the next nail salon. read more

I waited awhile to write this review because I was SO angry at this salon! I'm a small business owner and HATE to give bad reviews unless I get horrible customer service, which is what happened! I paid extra money to get shellac put on my nails so they would last for 3 weeks or so. I've had shellac done at this salon before and the girl that did it ( Tina ) did a wonderful job! The polish lasted almost a month! So with that in mind I went back. I got another lady who was VERY grumpy along with the guy that sits in there on his computer. I could tell by the way she did my nails that they would probably be chipping sooner then they should. Sure enough within 3 days the polish started to chip so I promptly went back in. Grumpy man foiled the polish to take it off and told me not to move, like I was going too? Tina the nicer one there told me I could grab another polish. Short on time I just grabbed regular polish asking for just a quick manicure to clean up the nails, after all I paid to have polish for three weeks?! When someone came to finally clean up my nails I was told by grumpy guy ( through Tina ) that if I wanted the polish taken off it would be free but if I wanted a manicure and polish that would be $12!! WHAT? I paid the higher price to have polish for longer then 4 days!! Now I get to pay $12 more because they did such a BAD job? REALLY!! Dear god, I have never been treated so badly my entire life. Seeing as I've been working in the customer service field for six years now, if I had ever treated ANY of my customers even a fourth as bad as I had gotten treated today I would have been fired on the spot. Who yells at their customers, after ignoring them for a half hour. Not to mention that my nails are complete shit. I have glue on my fingers up to my knuckle. I have hang nail shavings STILL hanging off my nails (I've been working on working on getting the glue and nail remnants off for over an hour now). They cut my fingers four times. All the files they used on my nails were used. USED. That is the most unsanitary thing you could do. What if someone before me had a nail fungus, or if they had cut another person before me while filing their nails. I had two different people popping back and forth working on me and other customers. All my nails are bubbling and crooked. Majority of the fake nails that they used are too small and don't fit my nails. I am NEVER going back there again.
