He wasn't able to recover the data and I was still charged the full $80 hourly rate. He did mention more advanced (and very expensive) recovery options, but I wish the limits of what he could do himself and the cost if nothing worked had been clearer up front. For serious data recovery, I'd consider a dedicated specialist and ask detailed questions about fees and expectations in advance.

I volunteer at Hospice of Marion County and when I asked if anyone knew where I could get my laptop repaired they all said "Abba" I was not disappointed. Has a GPU issue i wanted resolved, I told them to reseat it and if that doesn't work lmk what is causing it, they did reseat it and even cleaned the PC which I appreciate but I got back home and within 48 hours it had the same exact problem it had when I brought it to them, wasting $75 in the process. I don't want to understate this, they were incredibly kind and even called to let me know how things were going, but in the end I was told it was "working just fine" and came back with the same problem I walked in with. Maybe it was an off day, but it was not the greatest first impression
