This review is long overdue. I went over to Healthy Phone Tech in July 2024 to fix my wife's broken phone screen. Tom seemed very helpful at first, said he can fix the screen for about $200 dollars. It was an iPhone 13 Pro Max and we just wanted to get it done so we said okay. He said he ran a test on her battery - said that it was needing to be replaced. We never came in for any battery problem. He then pressured us into replacing it, claiming that we need it and he only gets "authentic" batteries so there's nothing to worry about. We ended up getting the battery replaced as well. After some time we noticed that her phone is dying incredibly fast. It got so bad that she had to keep the phone plugged in most of the day to just keep it on. What's funny is, she even started getting notifications on her screen that Apple couldn't verify the battery percentage because it isn't a genuine part. (see pics attached) After prolonged frustrations, we finally decided to give him a call. He repeatedly dismissed our concerns and insisted the battery could not be the issue. He said it can't be the new battery, it's your phone's board. After insisting he should check it out - he finally said to come to his shop on the weekend around a specific time so he can take a look. When we arrived at the agreed time during posted business hours, the shop was closed. So to sum things up, if you're looking to support a small business that provides honest, quality work - this isn't the place. I paid $280 and an additional 20 dollars for a screen protector just to end up replacing the phone after a few months anyway. If you end up going to his shop, expect him to give you a hard time if you have any problems with your repair. I'll also add a picture of the receipt incase he tries to say my review is fake. Update: The phone is at 100% battery because it needed to stay on a charger all day to even be used. The problem wasn't the fact that it couldn't charge up all the way, it was the fact that it drains to 0 within less than a hour of screen time. Walked in with a cracked cellphone screen. Even though it wasn't cheap I knew what I was in for before I went in and knew anywhere I went it was going to be expensive. He gave me 2 options and I opted for the Samsung brand screen which was more money. Only had to wait a short time, actually same day service and it was fixed. The owner is super nice and very honest. took my I pad there with cracked screen cost 250.00 to repair it when picked up went home didn't work so two days later I went to tom and he said I did something to it and screamed and held at me that I was crazy left there losing the 250.00 and a still broken I pad at least when I took it there I could still use it will contact the better buss bureau read more

3/4/23, we went to HPT, CR for a screen repair. We purchased the screen for $281.75 and Tom had quoted us $85 flat rate for the repair. 3/8/23, our daughter dropped off the phone. 3/9/23 we went to pick up our phone. My husband went in - Tom told him that he had broken something on the phone and asked if my husband wanted him to repair it. He said no and that he just wanted his phone. Tom asked for the sim card; which we did not have. Tom was adamant that he did not have the sim card or tray that was with our phone. After several minutes, I entered the store, we were at an impasse, and I stated that we call the police to determine the next steps. This seemed to agitate Tom and he started yelling that he should kick us both out of the store "right now". I stepped out to call the CCSO. During the call - Tom grabbed my husband by the neck and arm and shoved him out of the store (scraping my husband's arm on the brick). I found out later, it was because my husband was frustrated because Tom has now stolen our sim card and tray, and when I walked out he called me a b!+Ch - so my husband, smacked his fists on the counter, causing no damage. We waited inside our locked vehicle for the Sheriff to arrive. We also requested that the Sheriff get our phone case from Tom; however, Tom stated that he also did not have that. We were informed that we'd have to take Tom to civil court for restitution for the stolen items and we left to deactivate our sim card. At some point Tom realized HIS mistake -he had mixed up our phone with another customer's. Why didn't Tom realize he had two of the same phones? Why did Tom not call the number he had on the paperwork (my number) He stated he had already taken the paperwork to Chiefland. This was a lie because he stated he found the mistake prior to going to Chiefland. He also stated that their practice is to take the phone number of the phone being repaired so that they can call after the repair to make sure that it was functioning; however, he also stated that removing the sim card was common practice, so how would they call the phone? He took my phone number so he could contact me should an issue arise. Why didn't Tom call the CCSO and have them call us? It wasn't until my daughter left a negative review that someone "affiliated with" HPT, reached out to her. I requested a CCSO deputy escort me. Tom offered no apology and refused to provide a refund for the money that we had spent on the repair. My husband did leave a review and Healthy Phone Tech only gaslighted him and provided additional lies. He claims to have provided us with a free repair; however, we paid $281.75. He claims that there is a no trespass order against us; however, that is not true. He had requested there be an order; however, the Sheriff laughed and said that would not happen. The Sheriff also stated that if my husband was physically injured that he would "be happy to arrest him [Tom]". We decided to be the bigger people and not have him arrested. He claims that there are 5 witnesses to his side of the story; during the altercation, there was my husband, Tom, and two customers (one left prior to Tom getting physical). I was on the phone with the CCSO and there is a recording of that. There is a woman that works at the Allstate next door, that is claiming to know what happened; however, she was inside her office until after my husband was thrown out. We have three CCSO Deputies that can corroborate our story. If Tom felt unsafe, you would think he would welcome the assistance from the CCSO and not become aggressive when I stated I was going to call them. Additional concerns: Tom left the store unlocked, with customers' phones easily accessible and was gone for several minutes. Trying to locate an employee, the Sheriff went to the back room and found a bed. Tom confirmed that he sleeps there. It's a revolving door of people that go to the back room: people from the vape shop, the Allstate company and MANY more have access to your equipment and personal information. read more

While on vacation, and traveling south towards the gulf to see the Wildlife Refuge and Manatees, my Apple Iphone stopped working. Not familiar with the Chrystal River Area, I stopped and asked if there were any local phone repair stores. A local person told me about the Healthy Phone Tech Store in the Pine View Plaza shopping center on West Gulf to Lake Hwy. I walked in to to most amazing shop and was greeted by a phone teck named Tom. he actually met me at the door when I arrived. After our meeting , he took his time evaluating my phone and explaining what he thought was the problem. I told him I was on my vacation and really needed my phone. Tom then said that if I could wait, he would fix it now. He invited me to sit in his front waiting room , and then asked if I wanted something to drink. he then went to work swiftly, and kept me informed along the process. I was quoted a price beforehand and the repair came out cheaper, so I got the better of the two prices. Tom is am honest business person, and I am so grateful his store was in my path! I would not hesitate to use his services again. I would urge everyone to try out his phone repair store without hesitation. No matter what, Tom will make things right! read more

I would definitely not recommend this place for your cellphone repair. My daughter dropped off my Pixel 6 with its case so we could pick up the phone the next day. The repair was not complete because of a part that was broken during the repair, and the tech did not have my sim card or my case. The tech became hostile when we insisted that the phone had a case and its sim card when we dropped it off, then proceeded to give us the unrepaired phone and the screen (for which we had to prepay nearly $300), and threw us out of the store. We called the police and were told it would be a civil matter, so we decided to get a replacement phone through Verizon, who were very accommodating and helpful. The next day a representative of the shop contacted us to let us know that we were given the wrong phone and asked that we bring it back and pick up our phone, which was repaired. We did not pay for labor but we did not receive any other compensation or even an apology from the tech for his extreme behavior or his mistake. I've worked in the service industry and this shop lacks any customer service and technical integrity. The tech was still offensive and also stated that we would have had to pay $150 for the labor, but originally stated $85 before we dropped off the phone. A horrible experience. read more
