I went in because I had bought a vintage competition Bear bow from a yard sale that I didn't know much about. I went in not knowing about the size or anything just looking for more info on it, maybe hoping to get it fixed and able to use. A younger guy helped me (about 22-24 years old), but kinda laughed at me and told me it wasn't able to be fixed and shrugged me off. It was bent he said and he laughed because it was too big for me I'm guessing. I went in not knowing anything and left not really knowing anything more than that. I got a deal off of Groupon for an archery group class and it was such an easy transaction. When you first arrive, you check in and send you upstairs. Once everyone arrives (they do have a good waiting period for those running a little late), the instructor introduces himself and you watch a quick video with safety instructions and an introduction to archery. From there, you are given pieces for your fingers (and instructions on how to wear them), then you line up and get sized for your bow... and then the fun starts!! They are really good at emphasizing the safety precautions you need to take without being pushy. Our instructor was really helpful with our form and adjusting our bow as we needed. There were some people in the class that definitely tested the patience of the instructor, but they kept cool and remained patient and kind. This is going to be a fun hobby! :D read more

awesome experience for the public class. the instructor was very nice and knowledgeable. he made it fun and did not make you nervous. the only one star deduction was due to the class size. it was a bit crowded and i feel that it should be less by 5 people so you can really spread out. the equipment as well is getting pretty worn down so it would be nice to have upgraded equipment. the mascot, Tobbi, was such a treat! definitely will be back! hopefully to purchase gear and rent for a day of practice. read more

I've never tried archery before and I had a great time here! Used a Groupon, but I feel like their current rate ($25/person?) for an hour lesson is not bad at all. Our instructor was great! His name started with a "J" (I think...sorry it's already been a few weeks, but I promise he was good). He did a great job of explaining proper technique and going over the safety rules. He was very observant and was able to critique and correct my form. I saw a vast improvement from my first to last shot, in an hour's time. He definitely knows his stuff. I explained to them I am brand new and they were extremely helpful educating me to all the different considerations of what bow to select for what I am looking to do. I opted for a PSE Drive NXT as it is a solid middle range bow for a beginner like myself. I was here for a group archery event. There was only one instructor to 30 people and the equipments are worn out. I think 1 more instructor will make it better, especially because the form is important here. The sight pins are also off, not sure how to adjust them. I came here to get new strings-- top notch strings are $250 for replacement. A bit pricy but they did a good job on my Hoyt xt2000 Defiant bow and they have so many colors to choose from! I've have done shooting lessons and bought a bow and some arrows from them. They are well informed and fair market value.

I had a 3-4 hours to kill in the area and thought archery would be a great activity to fill the time. I found Hi-Tech Archery on Google Maps and took an intro class, which was $20 and lasted 1 hour. They provide all the equipment you need, which is really nice. It turns out, I actually like archery--or the instructor did such a good job that I wanted to keep shooting when class was over. After finishing and returning the intro equipment, I went downstairs to the pro shop and bought a bow, some arrows, an arm guard and a tab and went to the range to keep shooting. Overall, I had a great time. My aim and technique isn't the best, so I was off the yellow rings half the time. I even shot one arrow that completely missed the target and flew toward the back wall. Oops! But learning a new skill and being extremely focused was a great way to spend a chunk of the day. I found this place with zero knowledge or interest in archery, and now I've got some equipment to shoot with and plan to go back ASAP. If you have even a faint interest in archery, and you're within an hour drive of this place, I highly recommend going. Since I was new and it must have looked obvious while I was on the range, one of the instructors named Brock helped me further improve my technique and aim. He must have spent 30 minutes or so just hanging nearby and helping me. I felt a little bad because it was bordering on getting a free private lesson, but I greatly appreciated his generosity. So, thanks, Brock! Also, huge thanks to the lady in the shop who patiently got me set up with the correct bow size, arrow length and safety equipment. I wish I remembered her name. Because I found Hi-Tech on a whim, I wasn't too keen on spending a lot on equipment and she got me set up with everything I needed to have fun at a price less than some of the fancier bows. read more

Want to shoot arrows like Katniss or feel the adrenaline rush like Robin Hood? Hi-Tech Archery is a great place to get you started! I came across Hi-Tech Archery on a Groupon post last year (2019). It was a 2fer deal for a lesson for under 25 bucks or so. Not a bad deal! Since they do not allow prior reservations and only have first come first serve bookings, coming in early to the time you want for your lesson is highly recommended. For a 5pm lesson (last lesson of the day) I was there around 4:15~4:20pm. You show them the redemption barcoded offer and they mark it as used for you. They then hand you the reservation cards for the time you booked. Parking wasn't too bad. It's not a huge huge parking lot, but just enough to accommodate people coming in for classes, customers who want to buy archery gear, or just hear to use their archery facility. The lesson was 1 hour long. Initially they show a quick video of the equipment you will be using and some safety tips. The staff there were really cool and helpful. Haven't done archery in years. Coming back to this activity was definitely a great refresher and super fun. All the equipment you need is provided. All you need to do is just follow instructions and just have fun! Definitely recommend trying Hi-Tech Archery if you're curious on how to shoot arrows or just want to learn a skill to save you from the zombie apocalypse-just kiddin! read more

Review is for the beginner archery class. Private parking and easy check in. The only thing is that classes max out at 12 people each hour and they're strictly first come, first serve. I showed up at 240 for the 3pm class and there were only 3 spots left. I picked up a Groupon for the best deal, but the regular $20/ person/ hour is still great. It includes all equipment and a wonderful instructor. I think my teacher's name was Michael. He was hilarious and managed to actually give one on one instruction to each person. The space feels a bit crowded if you have covid concerns. If people were still following the 6 ft rule, a class would probably only fit 4 people max. If I lived closer, I'd probably come by more often. read more

I was helped by Chris, he is very knowledgeable in the sport of Archery. I was coached by Joe for my first shot ever. This guy is beyond amazing. I have been back to the shop several times since my purchase. They have always been extremely helpful. I had a recent 'dryfire' event, (not proud). They found things that I couldn't even see until they showed me. SueAnn worked with me on this repair. She is also another one of the 'GREATS' at this facility, she goes over and above to help. Hi-Tech Archery is very spacious and has a wide variety of archery equipment. The first floor is the store and towards the inside is a shooting range for further distance shooters. On the second floor, is where we had our archery lesson. There is a Air Hockey and Ping Pong table too. We played for free while waiting for our turn. ::Experience:: Every hour they offer one hour lessons for $20 per person. After paying, the cashier gave us a plastic card indicating our 1:00 pm time slot. When it was our turn, we were asked to sit and watch a video that went over the basics. The staff and people around us were laughing and chatting so loud we couldn't hear the video. After the video was done, the instructors asked for the card that the cashier gave us. Then she gave us an arm guard (didn't protect much), a finger tab (it was too big), a bow, and three arrows. The instructors taught us how to stand, shoot, and aim. I started to aim with my dominant eye but I was told to aim with my other eye, and if I couldn't, the instructors said to keep both my eyes open; I was confused. From time to time when the instructors were not talking to other people or each other, they would point out our wrong posture and help correct it. One female instructor started talking to someone, and they were both leaning against the rack where we placed our bows, so they were in our way; they didn't care to move. The instructors spent most of their time talking to each other than guiding us; it was distracting and unprofessional. It was clear we were not the priority. Although, one instructor did pay more attention to us than the other. I like the facility, but that's about it. ::Customer Service:: -The lady in the store was amiable, helpful, and informative. We inquired about the package deals. ::"MeH" Moment:: -The instructors were talking to each other more than teaching us. -I got a big bruise because the arm guard didn't protect much. ::Rating:: This is my second archery lesson; my first lesson was somewhere else. Hi-Tech Archery is the best place to learn archery. They have daily classes from 2-6pm and varies between group class or private classes. Pricing also varies. I believe they are closed on Sunday or Monday (not 100% sure). Group class is $20 for an hour. The instructor is very knowledgeable, patience and friendly. They will show you the proper ways and safety of doing archery as well as teach you the "anatomy" of the archery. They also have indoor range that you can rent for $40 unlimited time but space is limited. This is also a store so you an buy your gears and upgrades. Pricing-wise, I think they're pretty affordable. Archery is a lot of fun and I highly recommend Hi-Tech Archery especially for the newbies. read more

It's first come first serve. They have enough spaces for 6 people per class, FYI. The class ahead of us was full but the one we went to, was just us 2 so we got a private class. You start with a 5 minute intro video and then you start shooting. I docked 1 star because the instructor did not wear a mask. I was a bit scared because he did get a bit close to show me improvements I could make. Was a lot of fun... and actually quite tiring. I'll be back once the pandemic is over. So far I have been to Hi Tech twice, and both times were great experiences. The first time was for a group archery lesson, which was really fun and our instructor was able to give us all tips which was great considering how many people there were. The second time was today, for a private lesson. I've been interested in archery for a while and was gifted a bow for Christmas so decided it was time to just go for it. The instructor (Chris I think? Ugh I'm so sorry if I'm wrong) helped me string my bow, which I didn't know how to really do. He was super helpful in guiding me on how to improve my aim and explained how to adjust my stance, hold, etc. He seriously was such a great kid, and I left feeling so positive about my experience and knowing what I needed to work on. I haven't bought anything from the shop but absolutely will in the future, and hope to come back at some point for additional lessons or just to use the range. read more

Honestly this place is ridiculous. I called 5 times today and was told it was fine to come for the 5pm slot. I even spoke to the person who answered and told them I was driving from Riverside and wanted to make sure I could be seen. They told me if I was okay using only the time left even if we were late it would be okay. I get here explain we drove from riverside and I spoke to them 5 times on the phone since this morning and yet still they were not willing to work with me. That right there is how you lose customers. Stay away from a place that does not accommodate you and gives you false information and hope. I will never be back to this place and recommend others just to try a different archery place where customer service is their number one priority. This review is long over due. At first I liked the JOAD classes they offered to youth. And I have to say it's all about which instructor you get on the day you go . I do have to say instructor Brock was really attentive to kids there and correct/show techniques as need. He actually put in the time when he is teaching. On the other hand if you get the instructor Art, all he does there is chit chat with other parents and does not care if you are there or not since you already paid your monthly dues. My son has attended the JOAD classes for about a year, both on Saturdays as well as one of the weekday afternoon sessions weekly and not once was acknowledged by Art or has he showed my son some tricks or techniques, and all he does is stand around to wait for class to be over. Also there are no information from the instructors such as announcements like when competition opportunities are available etc ... if you are new , I wouldn't know how that information would be communicated. There are very nice people down by cashiering and I did spend a lot of money buying equipments but I would not recommend the JOAD class if Art is still the instructor , you won't get much out of it . Finally after a year of not much learning, we moved on to another archery school and it's sooo much better. 4 stars for Brock and facility 0 stars for Art = 2 stars total read more

We spent the Friday in a 1 hour class and working on our Rambo 1st Blood- Hawk Eye/ Legolas skills! Ha ha ha!!! This review is on the customer service experience. Came back here recently to purchase my first bow and arrows. A buddy of mine suggested I get a compound bow over a recurve and another buddy suggested a crossbow. I wasn't sure what would be a good fit for me, so I decided to drop in and ask. The older female staff saw me browsing and came over to assist. She explained the difference between the bows and recommended going with a recurve then switching to a compound after I master the recurve. I also did my research, so I already knew I wanted to start with a recurve and her suggestion only helped the process. Since I'm only a beginner, I decided to go with target arrows versus hunting arrows. The woman assisting me explained the difference between the feathers, the material of the stick and the effect it has on the motion of the arrow. She also explained how to disassemble and reassemble my bow and even took the time to show me the process. After I purchased my first bow and arrows, she gave me a card with a number of complimentary use of the indoor range, then took me there to test out my new recurve bow at no charge. She set up a 10 yard target, stationed me at lane 3 and went back to assist the other customers. This older Asian man, who I think works there, came over to assess my form and reminded me how to pull back the string. He also waited to see where my groupings would be to help me adjust my sight. I have to say, he was also quite impressed by my grouping. And at one point, he was telling me to keep my anchor point consistent and to pull back the string to wherever feels comfortable for me. Right after that, I shot a bullseye and we just looked at each other and I laughed. I definitely appreciated the help I received from him and the other woman (I should have asked for their names). The customer service here is excellent! The staff members will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable with your first purchase and even take the time to go over the basics of shooting arrows. Hi-Tech also has a variety of bows and arrows to choose from, so it is definitely a fun playground for enthusiastic archers, like myself. read more

10.10.2017 Hubby bought a couple of Groupons for archery lessons here. We FINALLY used them....because they were going to expire in a few days! LOL! ‍ Jonathan showed us a safety video first in addition to explain to us the important parts of the bow and arrow. I liked it because I'm a visual and kinesthetic person. If he talked and talked (like some gun class we took) I would've been . He was patient with four newbies--two adults, a teen and a child. He would explain why our arrows went a certain way and would offer pointers on the next shot to help correct it. When we started getting the hang of it we easily fell into a pattern of shooting, waiting to retrieve and then restarting. He even played some music for us as to break up the silence. It wasn't distracting music but nice, mellow background music. If it wasn't so far from us, it would be fun to go back. It really isn't that far but getting there on a weeknight during rush hour traffic made it seem REALLY far. LOL! Seriously though, we all enjoyed it and it is possible we could come back again. read more
