It is the best store across Canada for hydraulics, air fittings, and hard to find items. I love this place. The prices are unbelievable and the staff are pleasant and chatty . They planted one guy to be grumpy but i bet you can't find him. OMG SIX Stars. 30 times better than Canadian Tire, 65 times better than NAPA, 12 times better than tim hortons, and 3 times better than the damn neighbor that can't return tools. Ability to fix car does not = gender and they respect that here. I have seen gals behind the counter too. My truck is hardly used and I don't pull a trailer or abuse this truck. On a family vacation in July 2023 my truck broke down. Over $1000.00 to get it towed back to Edmonton just to have my mechanic tell me the transmission was shot. 21000kms!!!!!!!!! And the transmission was shot????????? I realize the warranty is for 2 years or 40000kms but 21000kms is ridiculous. The mechanics I talked to agreed that a transmission should not only last 21000kms even after the 2 year warranty expires. Needless to say , i was not impressed. I called Can west to see what they could do to help me out. Well, they didn't seem to interested because ''' it's past the two year warranty''. They said they would pay for labour but I still had to pay for parts. $2600.00 later....Can West also stated that the problem was the parts in the transmission[which they replaced in 2020]. I called another transmission company and they quoted me $2600.00-$2800.00. So I'm not really sure what I saved???? Tow truck ,mechanic, new transmission, waste of time. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I go to Napa and the gentleman instantly knows what I am talking about and there is a plethora of rivets available. Think an ocean of rivets. The right one appears before my very eyes. Price, $3. Spot on! If you know what you are looking for I would check here and compare prices, availability, etc. The shop isn't overly big, but if they have selections for things such as rivets they probably can find you something. There isn't much parking on the north side of the building and the store is on the right side going down 104th. Happy tinkering!
