Amazing customer service every time. I had to return a pump we use for our well that failed and it was a very easy exchange to get a new pump. We go to Princess Auto as they always have what we are looking for and then they carry to parts to fix all our equipment. We are a small farm and a campground/Eco Village that always needs lots of parts and equipment so Princess Auto is our go to store. Come on you pipe fitters, electricians, welders, tradespeople, plumbers and home handymen. (Oops women). This store has been the mainstay of alberta oil and has been the go to place for 65 years for farmers and war surplus repurposed. If you can give them a resounding six stars why shop here? It is the best store across Canada for hydraulics, air fittings, and hard to find items. I love this place. The prices are unbelievable and the staff are pleasant and chatty . They planted one guy to be grumpy but i bet you can't find him. OMG SIX Stars. 30 times better than Canadian Tire, 65 times better than NAPA, 12 times better than tim hortons, and 3 times better than the damn neighbor that can't return tools. Although Princess Auto is obviously an equal opportunity employer, I have a tendency to think of this place as 'A Guy Store'. Having said that, I intend to send my husband here, because I would LOVE a new meat grinder or bone saw for Christmas. This store holds all kinds of things that aren't vehicle related. They carry a lot of tools, work accessories, hunting supplies, cooking gear, camping supplies, sausage making and barbecuing spices and marinades, plus heating and cooling units. All at what looks like decent prices. I like to come here for stocking stuffers for my husband. Today I picked up bungie cords, gas-line anti-freeze, a battery powered camp light with compass, portable screen cleaner, hand warmers, and a waterproof cord connection protector. The selection of various anythings is HUGE. This place can be a little overwhelming, but if you can't find something, go ahead and ask someone. They're good that way. BUYER BEWARE: Some of this stuff is made in China and if it's too cheap, check the label. Some of it isn't worth the plastic it's packaged in. read more

A well stocked store in the industrial area. The area is busy and parking is limited, but worth the visit.

Being from out East, whenever I needed some random tool or automotive thing, I tended to head straight to Canadian Tire. When looking for something specific that wasn't at Canadian Tire, people kept suggesting Princess Auto. Most people assumed that I knew what they were talking about, so it was like pulling teeth to find out what the deal was with Princess Auto. So one day, I just went. Wow...now I understand. It's kind of like CT but without all the extraneous stuff...like kitcheware, sports, clothing. It's TOOLS and HARDWARE but more in depth. I needed a pulley of sorts; Princess Auto had about 20 different types and sizes along with (forget twice) the aircraft cable to go with it. I've subsequently visited Princess Auto a bunch more times and usually find the items I'm looking for. The quality of some of their stuff isn't great so you have to be choosy and test before you buy. The good news is that a lot of the items aren't packaged. read more

100x better than Canadian tire, and 85% cheaper! The sales are kept on the computer system so if you lose your receipt, it's not an issue at all. The staff is always friendly and ready to help you get what you need. The only issue I have is I am a Class 1 operator (drive a big rig) and there not a whole lot for that department, besides bungies, flagging, warning markers, grease for my 5th wheel etc, I'd love to see more of a trucker section. Found an item online but was not interested in paying $128.00 for shipping. I spoke to customer service in the store and they told me they would order it to the store for pick up. After 3 weeks I called and they looked it up and said it was not in yet. This happened twice. I went to customer service and the order was still listed under my phone number. A team leader told me they had 5 of these items coming in but were not available until the next sale in 3 more weeks. one would not be held even though mine was ordered 3 weeks ago. first come first serve so be here at 8:00am. I'm looking for a pdr tool everywhere and can't see to find one, I asked one of the staff and asks if they have a hotbox pdr, they checked in the computer, nothing. Ok I asked for some pdr tools, they have some but it's out of stock and the other selections are not what I'm looking for, so they told me they "probably" have it in the "other" store, so I went and looked for it, found nothing, asked another person, but this time the staff tells me "sorry but we don't sell those at all, you might wanna try eBay or Kijiji..." I am a long time Princess Auto's customer. I still remember the first time I went to Princess Auto to buy Army Surplus Equipment and parts, They went through lot change over the years, from selling Farm Equipment and surplus to sell tools and more. This place was great and the price was good even though most of their tools are average quality from China, but up to about 1 1/2 year ago, Princess Auto starts deliver flyer to every household, things went downhill from here. Price is more expensive and they carry less selection than before. Their price (even it is on sale) is not competitive enough to be attractive compare to others like Canadian Tire (Better Quality of Tool), BusyBee and KMS tools (more specialize on metalworks equiment and tools and better price) etc. Let's face it, most of us you don't go to Princess Auto to buy Quality Tools, we went here to buy tool with low ticket price. I hope Princess Auto's Management read this and stop wasting money delivery the flyer to every household, and concentrate on bringing more new tools and lower their price to be more competitive with others. read more

Princess Auto is a heaven for handymen, car mechanics or just do-it-yourself type of people. The store has a wide variety of tools, gismos and miscellaneous items: from the regular car tools to the water pumps and heater vents - it got it all. The prices are reasonable, even low, one might say. But despite the low prices, the quality of items sometimes is not the best. The nice option this store has is the 30 day return or exchange policy that came in handy when my husband and I bought a couple of socket ratchets. I am giving this store 4 out of 5 stars because of its nice selection of items, good location and a friendly and trouble free customer support. read more

Either way, the prices are low and to be fair, I've never had a problem with anything I've bought there. I am writing about princess auto and their online ordering. Are used to like princess auto and now I will never recommend it or shop there. I Purchased some items online, next day part of my order wasn't available. I phoned and asked to be contacted about this as her being charged a very large shipping fee. The reason for my order was to purchase the items that were now not available. The items were available when I place my purchase. I have not received a callback from princess auto, I know found out that only one of the items is available and I'm being charged an extremely large shipping fee. I love this place!! I am here once to twice a week. Always has a great flier that makes me buy if needed or not. If something is wrong or not good they take it back no prob. If Princess Auto were a real girl, I'd ask her to marry me. I've been coming here for years for my own needs and for work. The boss likes that I'm saving the company money, and I don't think I've ever had any serious quality-related failure with any of my purchases. In any event, the customer service is first-rate, so they've got me covered there, too.There are lots of knowledgeable staff-members, so it's usually quite easy to find help. My only problem is that I'll go in to buy one specific item, and then find myself wandering around picking up five other things that I didn't actually need. My first and prob last time I will go into this store , I had a flyer which made me go and get something cheaper on sale, I asked for help and one person pointed me to the next and then so on .. I felt like no one knew what was going on here ... Finally i was directed to a parts guy to get some fuel injector cleaner .... he didnt even know what it was? He said he has to go help someone else and jus left me standing there... I will never go here agian. I work at (insert company name), went to pick up parts with a p.o number. The pick up/ return desk didn't even have my parts ready when I got there and they had 24 hours to have it ready. The lady with a very bad attitude sent someone away and just went back to what she was doing before, completely ignoring me standing there and would not tell me what was going on. They handed me my stuff and told me to go pay for it somewhere else. What do I have a purchase order number for? Not impressed. Maybe if their attitude was as good as their disorganization it might make up for the fact they have no idea what they are doing.
