Went to HHL for insulation in our ceiling for warmth and noise reduction coming from upstairs neighbors. Was told the job would take 4 or 5 days, ending taking over 3 weeks. Was told the sound will hopefully be reduced from anywhere between 30% - 70%, somehow, it got worse. Each time we asked when things would be completed, we were told how busy they were with other jobs, wife & I felt taken advantage of. After they were done, turns out the noise got worse, somehow, the noise feels as its more amplified, to the point where we had to move our entire bedroom, something to do with cutting into our RC channel to spray the insulation. Reached out to get some clarity, but was ensured that couldn't be possible? Anyways, this was our first experience doing any sort of contracting work & was a bummer to say the least. read more

This company was one of four that we got bids from to insulate our attic. Kris was supper communicative and punctual. He is friendly, professional and very fair. He was the best of all our estimates and did not try to sell us things we didn't need which seems to be a fairly common practice among some companies that do attic and crawl space clean outs. HHL Insulation did a complete attic insulation job for us. Some of our old insulation was put in 70 years ago. It was time for an update. They did spray foam in the attic and bat insulation in our garage. They had to start a day late, but then worked hard to get it all done in one day instead of the two originally planned. Humberto was conscientious and knew his stuff. I was impressed with him and his crew. They stuck to the bid price which had been middle of the five bids we got. I really did intent on getting more than one bid for my latest home improvement project--insulating our external walls--but, as I clicked around Yelp trying to figure out which companies would be best to get bids from, HHL seemed to rise naturally to the top. The stellar reviews the company had were enough for me to click through to the company's website and then, comfortable with what I saw, I picked up the phone and gave them the first shot. I set up an appointment for the estimator to come out and when the day and time arrived, Mike was at my door. It took him probably a half hour to get all the measurements and a few days later, the bid arrived in the mail. I had no idea what to expect, but based upon the cost of insulating my attic years ago, I felt like the HHL estimate was totally within reason. And, as an added bonus, I qualified for a $400 Puget Sound Energy rebate, which HHL said they would administer for me. The day the work was supposed to take place Seattle got a light covering of snow and for some reason that was enough to disrupt the crew's schedule. It took until early afternoon to hear from Homberto that they weren't going to make it that day. I found this very odd. After all, the snow covering was quite light and schools weren't even delayed. But, Homberto was very apologetic so I was willing to give him the benefit of a doubt even though I had specifically worked from home that day to be around for the crew. I've wavered back and forth about whether to deduct a star from my review for this incident, but based upon the end work have decided to give HHL a full five stars. We reschedule for a few days later and when that time came the crew, Rohelio and Manuel were there on time and worked almost continuously from 8:30AM to 5PM. The work started with a quick walk through of the house to look for any areas that insulation might blow though. Just as a precaution, they used some spray foam in a couple of areas, for example, around the drain under the kitchen sink. From there I pretty much left them to do their work as they meticulously moved from one end of the house to the other, one drilling 3" holes and the other filling them with blow in insulation and then resealing the hole. At one point the long hose they were using to deliver the insulation came apart and some insulation ended up in the yard. One of the guys actually went to the van, brought out a shop vac and began vacuuming the yard--in the rain. He wasn't entirely successful, but I sure appreciated the effort. Same with putting a drop cloth on the ground to catch the sawdust from the holes being cut. I didn't expect that level of meticulousness and it showed me that Homberto's crews are both hard working and well trained. They were also very personable and polite. The work HHL did was immediately noticeable throughout my house. The back bedrooms are much warmer and there seems to be less street noise. Having the work done was an easy call. I was not able to find another provider for rigid board, but they installed it. Very unreliable on days and times. Price didn't fluxuate from contracted rate. Did not complete the job when they said they were done but picked up the check without verifying completed job. Did come back to complete it after several messages and months later when I suspected issues. It took 2.5 more days of work to close open areas and foam around board. I hired HHL to insulate the walls and floor in my mid-century home. The quote that Humberto provided was competitive and called for using environmentally sustainable materials. Humberto took careful measurements of my interior space and was friendly and helpful in explaining what was needed. Because the house is brick, the HHL crew needed to drill small holes in the interior walls to blow in the insulation. The insulation is carried from their truck in flexible plastic tubes. The process is interesting to watch and somehow calls to mind (at least for me) scenes from the science fiction movie Brazil. All of this cutting holes and blowing insulation could have created a big mess, but the HHL crew was meticulous in covering all of my furniture with plastic and capturing any dust that did escape with an industrial vacuum cleaner. They were also very thorough in patching the holes in the wall so that they are now ready for painting. Now that the project is completed the house feels much more comfortable. The temperature in the different rooms is more even and I don't feel the same drafts that I did before. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend HHL for the quality of their work and their professionalism. read more

If you're looking for an insulation company go no further than H HL they have the best price the best customer service and their workers are professional and well-trained. I use them five years ago to do the insulation under the house wrapping the heating vents and matic -airsealing register joints and today I had them do the attic insulation blowing in our 49 loose fiberglass. Puget Sound energy gives rebates for both of these jobs if you qualify and the HH L did was better and the job was done in an excellent fashion. Umberto ...the owner..is a very nice person who came and gave the bid ( he was also very easy to deal with and explain things nicely no wonder people enjoy his business ) and Kristina at the office is very nice to coordinate with in addition the two workers they came today Manuel and Rogelio were not only nonstop workers left the place very clean. Not only that, their equipment was new , the truck was new and these guys were using Owens Corning products top-of-the-line I can already tell my house is warmer and one thing they don't really tell you about it's actually quieter from the street noise. They spent a lot of time up there putting in baffles to keep the insulation from going into the soffits and also they used foam around all plumbing and electrical areas I mean these guys were very precise. Thanks Puget Sound energy for the rebate because I probably would've done it otherwise anyway HH L is who you want to use trust me I had everybody else give me bids and I've seen their work it's excellent. Umberto I hope you realize how incredible your workers on doing a job on a Saturday and not only that they're very very nice guys. I pretty much skin see the gas heating bill being cut by at least 30% to 40% every month so this job will pay for itself in about two years. read more

I called to get an estimate for insulation in my older house, in West Seattle. A very sweet woman answered my million questions, and was able to get me scheduled for an estimate the next day. Humberto was the person who came to see my funky crawl space. He was definitely one of the friendliest service providers I have ever worked with. I trusted his opinion, I felt as if he didn't exaggerate the issues, and he explained everything to me in simple terms, as this is not my area of expertise. I had HHL come to our new house in Brier, and again they did a great job that's worth raving about. Randy and Rogello came out again and they must have read my review from earlier, because Randy gave me a call to tell us what time he would be there and I felt that the communication was much better. Even though they came on time as promised, I felt as ease knowing that someone was on their way half an hour before they arrived. From start of job to end, they put in the extra effort and I believe that makes a huge difference from someone who can do the job or someone who takes pride in their work and can do the job well. I had three bids on the crawlspace, duct work and got the best value from them. (They include the basic duct cleaning service and seal all connections where other companies just refer you to other duct cleaning companies) They rodent proofed the whole crawlspace and had great attention to detail. I hope this follow up helps, and when choosing from multiple bids, I hope that you strongly consider HHL for your needs, as you will get the best value from them. This company is awesome and is an ideal insulation-contractor to work with. I met with and interviewed FOUR insulation companies-- not only was their bid price fair and the most competitive, they were the most friendly and helpful. The boss, Humberto, was very professional and we appreciated his positive attitude. They made no delays on our project, including coming back to finish on Saturday, so we could get our upstairs back to normal as soon as possible. They even did a nice clean up job inside and outside. I did get an auto-generated email reminder from them yesterday so it is on their schedule... I guess if they show up for the estimate people hire them. I don't like posting reviews but in this case I am compelled. Im starting to wonder if HHL is having people put positive reviews on for them to cover their a**. I scheduled an estimate on their website on Sunday night for weds morning and received a confirmation email almost immediately. After no one showed up during the service window I called HHL only to have Humberto answer the phone. Mind you Humberto was the one scheduled to do the estimate. He stated it must be a computer issue and asked if he could call me back in 10 min. Of course there was no call back until I left a stern message 40 mins later. Humberto then asked if they could reschedule for another day...Um, no you can't! I took the morning off of work to be home for the estimate and think I will cut my losses. Terrible customer service and completely unorganized, if you cant even do the estimate appointment I am frightened to think how the job is going to go.
