In a rush to have a part overnighted to me in NYC on Friday afternoon, I had provided my wife with…read morethe address of the NYC FedEx pickup office, but I didn't realize that she was sending the package through UPS. UPS tried to deliver the package in NYC Saturday morning, but the FedEx center wasn't open when they did. After talking to UPS national customer service, they suggested that we see what happened when re-delivered Monday morning. I then contacted the Ellicott City UPS store and explained the situation to Sri. He made several calls to the national UPS and pointed out that FedEx was likely to reject the package when delivered Monday morning. Sri was able to get the national office to contact the NYC office over the weekend, pull my package off the truck, and get it tagged for pickup at the UPS office in NYC. He even gave me his cellphone number, as he wasn't working Monday, so that he could continue to assist me if something went wrong. Had Sri not been so proactive, the part would likely been rejected by FedEx Monday morning and sent back to Ellicott City. Because of his efforts, I was able to get my part Monday morning from the UPS center, saving me the time and cost of a return trip to NYC. You can't always find people interested in taking time to understand your situation and then make a special effort to work out a successful solution. That earns Sri and the EC UPS store my five-star rating.
