I didn't realize this until I got home. Beyond disappointed in myself for not going back and forcing them to clean it again but they were not close to me. I'm just grateful I found another dry. I picked it up only to find that they completely damaged my jumper. Not a single apology or no remorse, instead she decided to lie and said a sorry excuse, "since you are Korean I didn't think to call you about this damage that was already there" Why why I send a damaged unwearable jumper to get tailored and dry cleaned? This was a 33$ service not sure if that's a fair price or not. Anyways I do not recommend and if any reading this can direct me to someone who can fix this I would be very thankful.

I discovered the day before leaving that the movers somehow got my suit all wrinkled and dirty during the move. Eek! Called EIGHT places, nobody could actually do same-day cleaning despite many sites saying they could online. My suits look awesome and they saved the trip (how was I going to go to my Cousin's wedding with dirty clothes otherwise? no way!) My mother took her dress to Dorsey Cleaners for alterations. The dress was marked with chalk and…read morethey agreed upon the alterations that would be performed. When she returned to pick up the dress, there were blue stains throughout the top portion. She was told that another dress had bled into hers. The owner assured her to come back and the stains would be removed. She returned and the stains had indeed been removed; however, when she tried on the dress, she couldn't zip it all the way. The owner helped her zip it up, but once zipped, the dress was too tight in multiple places. He explained that he had to dry the dress twice and it may have shrunk as a result. Whether the error was due to the alterations or the drying process, the end result is that my mother's dress was ruined. She spoke with the owner about compensation since there was no way to fix the damage. He was dismissive and tried to lowball her despite their clear mistakes. This is very poor business practice, as he assumed no responsibility for what happened under his watch. My mother had used this establishment before without any issues, so this was particularly disappointing. He even tried to get the tailor to personally cover the cost of the dress instead of taking responsibility for mistakes that occurred in his business.

I had a friend's wedding to attend, and because I no longer have to dress so formally for work, most of my suits were hidden way back in the closet, crumbled on its floor, no longer fitting, or covered by little holes the moths had eaten through. I dug the best of the bunch out and took it into Columbia Palace to see what they could do. Even though the owner first exclaimed there were too many holes, she took it anyway and got to work. Two weeks later, my suit looks brand new! I can't believe what an excellent job they did! They've definitely earned five stars and a new loyal customer.

Then, after we had given them the rug, they called and asked if we would mind if they sent it out to another service that they thought would do a better job. We said sure, if you think that's a good idea. Two and a half weeks later, I was notified and picked up the rug. The edge on one entire side had been destroyed. Whoever cleaned it had stuck little tags on it saying it was damaged when they got it, but that was a straight-up lie. It was in excellent condition when I brought it in and only somewhat dirty. The other edge had some damage, but not as much. We are now pricing rug repair to the tune of $350 or more. We don't know much about rug cleaning and so, perhaps, should have known we should have taken it to a specialist. But they also should have been honest with us when we asked whether that was a service they performed. Basic honesty about what you can or can't do is a trademark of good service. So we've learned our lesson, but it's been an expensive one. I should add that during this process I called them a couple of times and was not able to leave them a message. They also have a paper sign posting COVID hours on their door, but haven't bothered to update Google search or their website. So there were a couple of extra fruitless trips and phone calls involved in this whole process, as well.
