Somewhat like a hole-in-the-wall take-out only Korean coffee shop, I happened upon this place while going to the food court at Shops on Yonge. Located just at the entrance of the food court on the second floor, it's a small little shop beside a Korean bakery.
This time I ordered:
1. Egg and potato sandwich
2. Iced Americano (regular size)
I love Korean coffee shops in South Korea and was really excited to try their food items.
First off, I have to stress that this is a take-out only place.
The iced americano was exactly what you'd expect from a diluted iced coffee drink. There was quite a lot of coffee for the size, and if anything, the coffee itself was slightly on the sour side. The aftertaste wasn't too bad though, as I've had much much worse americanos.
Egg salad in Korea is known to be a little on the sweet side. When I traveled to Seoul, I was already accustomed to the fact that egg salad varies in taste according to the country. Whereas Japan is a little more creamy because of the mayo they use, Korean egg salad has a very distinct sweet taste. With the potato salad mixed into the egg, it balances out quite well. The bread is drier than the traditional Japanese milk bread I was used, which added to the fact that they put in the fridge, made the bread just...dry.
The only problem was the egg shells. I ate three to four while having this sandwich.
I think for $10.40 (tax included), it's an okay meal. There's a lot of egg salad in the sandwich, making it a little messy to eat. (I went home after buying this and transferred to a plate)
I recommend this place for the convenience, if you just want something quick. read more
