I've been to 5 different chiros in my life so far. I didn't have a very good feeling about this one but I didn't realize until the second visit. When you first walk in it's a great venue, very clean. Staff is really nice. They took my insurance info and said they usually process it the next day but since I came in with a lot of pain, they went ahead and did a very small adjustment and wanted to wait until I got Xrays to do a full treatment plan. They charged me for the initial fee for assessment and charged for one office visit/adjustment. My second visit, I walk in and I immediately ask about my insurance and coverage. The receptionist told me Dr. Hess will talk to me about it. She puts me on a table for maybe 2 mins then Dr. Hess does a small crack and then tells me that my insurance is out of network and because my deductible is so high, they don't bother processing it through insurance. The entire process took 15 minutes from the time I walked in and left. Again, I was charged the full amount for an adjustment. My question is, why wasn't I informed that my insurance is out of network before my adjustment so that I can have a choice whether or not I want to keep my second appointment? Additionally, she kept pushing to see me nearly every day of the week. Not only do I not have time to go to a Chiropractor on a daily basis, I felt like it's not necessarily the best "treatment plan." If you're not supposed to work out the same muscles daily, you shouldn't be adjusting on a daily basis either. Also, if you didn't want to do a full adjustment until you saw X-rays, why would you want to see me on a daily basis before receiving the X-rays? read more

If you remember what being a little kid was like when you woke up or went to bed with no pain then you crave the same relief I was looking for when I reached out to Amy Hess. I did not expect to find a solution but maybe some relief. I was wrong. I found two solutions Sharing a bed means it's not always perfect for your back. Dr. Amy gave me two options: one to change pillow arrangement and the second how to stiffen the mattress a little bit. I did both. No more lower back pain when I wake up. Driving around the city means my shoulders are always pulling forward and my upper back feels strained and achy. I had seen two other chiropractors before going to Dr. Amy Hess, I was very hesitant and skeptical from the information and experience I had from the first two chiropractors. When I went to see Dr. Hess she put me right at ease, not only by her personality but by the environment of the office. You walk in and you're warmly welcomed by Kayla who works the front of the office, the office is very clean and organized. Amy has clearly built her practice to inform and help the community live a healthier and more functional life. I first sought out chiropractic care when I was in so much pain I was no longer able to run. At the time I was training for a marathon and started to get sharp pains in my back shooting down my leg. After going to my primary care physician I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon due to the degeneration in my lower lumbar, which is uncommon to see in a 24 year old. I was determined to find an alternative "cure" than surgery to get me back to running, and Dr. Hess was the answer. Dr. Hess has been a blessing; she works with your goals and encourages you to live a healthy life to achieve them. She makes sure you are comfortable with the adjustments she is doing, which none of them are the crazy bending or snapping you would think a chiropractor would do. They are very minor precise, gentle, and relaxing adjustments. If you're afraid of popping noises, like I was, don't let that deter you. The popping is very minor if you can hear it at all. The most impressive thing to see is how chiropractic care has changed so many peoples' lives in her office. Whether its pain in your neck/back, trouble sleeping, feeling lethargic throughout the day, high cholesterol, or trouble focusing (Amy and her patients could list many more), but if you're having trouble with anything I would schedule an appointment to see how Dr. Hess could improve your quality of living. * I'm happy to say I'm back to running with NO PAIN :) read more

Dr. Hess and her entire staff are wonderful! The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because this is only first full visit. Dr. Hess is friendly and helpful and great at explaining issues and proposed treatment plans. The receptionist greets you by name and is warm and welcoming. I went for my first full visit today and my first 30-minute massage and left feeling truly relaxed. Dr. Hess explained the issues of concern and performed an adjustment based on the examination of x-rays that had been taken by a previous chiropractor. She was very gentle but effective with her adjustment technique and I felt instant relief in my neck and upper back. I have had several massages at various spas and felt this was by far the best I've had. I really felt like the massage therapist accurately targeted my problem areas and relieved the tension in those spots. Dr. Hess prescribed a multiple visit plan to address the problems with my neck and back so I will be updating this review as my treatment continues. Dr. Hess determined the origin of my pain when no other chiropractor had. A previous doctor had ordered an MRI, and Dr. Hess was the only one who reviewed the images and focused the adjustment to that. Her adjustments are more gentle and more effective.
