I've rented from this location a handful of times. I prefer to utilize their online service option as it gets me in and out of their offices quicker. This location has far less fees than the ones at airport vicinities. If you book roughly a month in advance and have the funds to use the pay now option you will definitely save money. If you are enrolled in the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program, which I'm a member of, you will automatically earn points with each rental. If you have enough points you can redeem it for a free rental day. The program also offers special promo codes to further knock prices down as well. If you rent frequently, the best perk, you get to cut the line, a separate gold member line, and they give you option to choose your own vehicle at various locations that offer so. :) I have yet to encounter any issues with the agents at this locations. All have been polite and professional. Answered any questions I had and tried best to accommodate me with any needs. This location is small, so you're looking to rent a certain vehicle I'd suggest you call their office beforehand or check online. The only negative I have to say is the hours of operation. I wanted to follow up on my prior review as I believe that bad business should be called out. They charged me $250 for an exterior clean even though I had put the car through a car wash. I tried to call the location no answer. So I went in person. I asked to see the photos of the exterior - the lady immediately changed the story to say it was actually the interior that had been dirty, and I had to take it up with Hertz Billing. Armed with the photos of a clean vehicle exterior, and the invoice showing $250 charge for an exterior clean - they reneged and credited my card. These people are down and dirty and will do anything they can to burden you with extras after you return the car.... even if it had been dirty do you think $250 would be a reasonable fee to charge read more

I spoke to the manager on 10/9/2022 he told me I would have a car ready for the next day at 9am I come in and the sales worker Nicholle Quinones was extremely rude didn't even look up my reservation told me to my face she gave my car to the lady infront of me because they close at 12 and couldn't get another car ready when the parking lot is full of cars. At RSW airport in Ft. Myers, FL, I experienced the worst "customer service" I have ever encountered. I had reserved a rental car through Hertz using a major credit card 3-4 months in advance of our arrival in Ft. Myers. Some weeks after making the reservation, that credit card was replaced by the company due to a fraudulent transaction. Upon checking out at the Hertz booth, I was told that because I could not produce the card used at the time of the reservation, I would have to go to customer service. Two employees were there when I arrived. After explaining the situation, I was told they could not help me and was given a brochure and told to call one of several 800 numbers. Each number I called had a menu, none of which connected me to an actual person. I tried for nearly an hour, during which time I repeatedly asked if one of the on-site employees could help and was told no, while they continued to chat with each other and occasionally assist another customer. One of the employees exasperatedly told me that it was my responsibility to notify Hertz when my card was replaced and said the rudest, most inappropriate things to and about me to my husband who had joined us. Finally the other employee returned and I again pleaded for help. For whatever reason she then decided to help me after all and the whole situation was resolved within 10 minutes, although I was charged $60 over the price quoted in my confirmation email. After more than 90 minutes, we were finally allowed to leave with our rental car to begin a long awaited vacation. Needless to say, I will NEVER rent through Hertz or any of their related companies again under any circumstances. read more

5 star service from this Hertz location. The staff was friendly and courteous, and they were very prompt in servicing me. I got a Nissan Sentra and the service agent parked it right at the front door and it was fresh from their on site car wash. It was sparkling all day for my trip to Connecticut. This location offers the lowest rental prices I've ever encountered (maybe I've been getting tipped off from airport rentals?). I wish zero was an option! This location is absolute trash! And so was customer service for that matter. We rented a car in PVD but we were traveling to Nahant/Boston then back to PVD. The car we rented was rattling really bad when idling, like something was broken under the hood. We called PVD and they told us to stop at the nearest location and swap for our safety. We confirmed it could be ANY shop as we were almost 2 hours from our pick up location. When we got here and told them what was going on, he came out and listened to it, then said hold on I'll be right back. He went in, called the manager Abdi(or whatever his name was), and came back out and said the manager wouldn't swap it because he didn't want to take the hit on his branch since it had mechanical issues. I'm sorry, What? Is this real life? After 3 different calls to PVD and customer service we still have a broken car, AND no one has offered anything for the inconvenience. We rented a Hyundai sonata took it down the Maryland to see the 2016 Preakness drove it all around exploring places after two days of Maryland we then drove to Virgina Beach and explored down there aswell! point is its nice to rent another vehicle when taking on long distant road trips we had the car for almost a week so we vacuumed it out for them before giving it back but didnt have the time to wash it. Do not rent from here. I was in accident and the insurance company told me to call Hertz. I called to schedule pick up for 3:00 because I work at 4:30pm thinking an hour and 1/2 would be enough time. At 3:15 the agent was not at pick up so I called the building. A lady told me my agent was on the way. He eventually picked me up a half hour late. When I got there he asked for card for a hold on my account. I gave him the card signed papers quickly and left because I was already late for work. The car itself was fine. Few personal items left in from the previous user. (Sure no big deal). I had the rental for 2 weeks when I checked my bank statement where I saw 3 separate charges all for different amounts from Hertz, Of course it was Sunday and they were closed. I called as soon as the opened on Monday (8am) and asked about these charges and was told by the manager he "too busy to talk to me" and "I was charged for the weekend and Monday that's what those charges were and to call my agent" I spoke to my agent they didn't know why the manager would say that. I called back and they said they would send me email form that afternoon to cancel the charges with the bank. No apology. Just to be safe I called the bank myself cancelled the card they had on file. The next day I checked both my statement and my email. Hertz still had a hold on my funds, and I had no email. So I called again and spoke to the same manager Deshawn. This time his story had changed AGAIN. he told me that the charges were not for weekend rental, or Monday rental but for $10.50 a day over what insurance would cover. He was rude, loud, and did not let me speak. He was no help and has no business working with customers. I feel like he was trying to say whatever he could to get me off the phone. While holding over $300 of my money less then 3 weeks to Christmas and with 3 different explanations of why he was holding the money. I have called regional manager and hope to have the situation resolved tomorrow. read more

This location is horrible and should honestly get shut down. My insurance covers my rental. When I went in to get a vehicle while mine is in the shop all the employees were extremely unprofessional, always walking away and switching the people helping me. They had told me because of my insurance it's a $200 hold on my card and said to me I won't get charged besides that because they have my insurance information. (Which now I don't feel comfortable with them having personal information of mine) and now I'm getting charged DAILY about double what it is supposed to cost anyways. All of the employees were all visibly high off some drugs. They were telling other employees that they can lend out all the nicer cars within the company because they don't have reservations. So when I said which car I wanted they gave me dirty car and the not nicest looking on the lot. Not even close to the car I personally own. I had some issues with this location in the past (disorganized, maybe even a little shady) BUT they must be under new management now (fall of 2018) because after renting there recently, I have to say they were great. Staff was wonderful, friendly, efficient. Not a huge selection of cars, but they let me pick the one I want. And I got a great rate. I had the best experience! My car was down the street at Lynn automotive being worked on. The manager Abdi? I think. The really dark black guy with perfect straight white teeth helped me. He was so helpful and got everything done quickly and efficiently. He even sent a co worker over to pick me up down the street. I got a brand new 2018 Toyota. It was spotless and clean as a whistle both inside and out. I still have to return the car, but if it goes as well as my pick up experience, I give this location 5 stars! I am an attorney for a person who had to rent due to an accident. I am sorry I sent client to this rip off place. She was given a car at $74.00/day even though the website advertised as little as $23/day. When I called the manager said the Thursday rate (she was renting for at least a week) was $74/day. Their FRIDAY rate was $50/day. If she had rental reimbursement under her auto policy it would have been $29/day. DO NOT GO HERE they mislead with different rates on different days. read more

I would give it 0 stars if I could. I signed up for yelp just to give this place a review. Super unprofessional and rude, and the manager Abdie is never willing to help you out. I recently was in a car accident about one month ago, ever since I have been in hertz's rental, they have been charging me with all these hidden fees EVERY WEEK. Not to mention that the rental I was placed in had barely any gas, and a flat tire. I brushed it off because at least I had a car, right? Well its been a constant nightmare ever since. I call the Lynn location at least once since I have been in my accident, and no one seems to know how to handle the problem or the situation. I book to the nearest city , I checked for pick up, set time and got conformation. The day of pick up no call from hertz for the pick up service . I call and was told they cant pick up because no one is there for that . I was told take a taxi after getting the taxi service I am almost ready to go the 20 plus miles over 40 dollars in charges . I call to let them know I will be there in a 45 minutes only to be told they close in 5 mins and go to the airport for pick up . Really ?that is twice as far . I call hertz 800 number only to get endless holds , refusals for supervisors and more transfers . THE BEST THEY CAN DO is get me the same rate at the airport or wave a 100 dollar cancellation fee . This was my first and last experience with Hertz. I set up a pre-paid rental with Hertz using my employers portal to get a discounted rate. Completed the online reservation entered all billing information and a messaged was promoted to look out for an email to confirm your reservation. Got the email and assumed all was good. Got up the morning of the rental to go pick up the rental. Generally I have very little faith in online reservations so I called to confirm the reservation and some one answered the phone in a rushed unfriendly manner. Gave them our name, asking to confirm the reservation the phone operator said to just come down. Once we pulled up we saw a "full size" car set aside and assumed it was ours and we would be in and out. Once we entered we had to wait 2-3 mins since all the employees were around the corner from the front desk eating and drinking I assuming their breakfast (shouldn't employees be eating on their own time?) In between their sips and bites they were also complaining and an earlier customer. Once we got the attention on an employee (while the other two just stared at us like we were the first people they have ever seen) she tried to look up our reservation in the system and was unable to find it. Another employee walked in and the person currently helping us told that employee to help us. He refused and coached her along. Long story short they could not find the reservation. I let them know that was odd as we called fifteen minutes before to confirm. They asked who we spoke to. It was the man coaching the employee on the counter system. (We knew it was this employee as the phone rang in front of us and he gave that caller the same response with out checking anything) once the gentleman realized it was he that answered our call he promptly left. The employee that started helping us said we could still make a reservation but I would not be able to get my companies rate with out reserving through our portal.... Great... I would need access to quality wifi or 4g data to access my companies VPN, create the order, wait for it to process and show up in system. My girlfriend agreed to just setup the order with them and paid full price. They then pulled up a car that had barely been cleaned, had obvious dents that were rusting. We have had enough of the level of service offered we asked to cancel the order and they agreed but said the deposit hold on the card would remain... Not wanting to deal with this place anymore we just left walked LITERALLY across the street to enterprise and rented the same quality car and the agent their offered us a very good deal after hearing what we went through with Hertz. don't rent a car from here! just go across the street to enterprise they are much more professional and accomadating. i made the worst mistake by reserving a car online. it's been a nigthmare since i walked in that place. i intially reserved a car online for a month and pre paid it to get the better deal. i work in boston so it takes me about a hour to get into lynn, i got there about 5 minutes before closing. of course the car i reserved (full size) wasn't there but a smaller car was. at first he stated he didn't have anything for me because the corolla had a expired registration. i explained to him that it was important for me to get a car that day and i didn't want to be left stranded on the lynnway. so, he agreed on letting me stay in the corolla as long as i promised to trade it in by friday.- ok so when i went to trade it in for the full size car i paid for; my rental agreement is all messed up and i paid over $700 for 2 days- this is when i guess the manager came to look at it and he stated that he doesn't know what the previous guy did but he was new. so after being there for a hour- i was all set to drive off. my car was getting repaired and ended up being done before i expected. i then called hertz to explain i no longer need the car can i be reimbursed for the rest of the month once i return the car. he said he was going to look into it and call me back and when he called back of course he states there is nothing he can do. so then i called hertz 1-800 number and they stated that hertz on the lynnway has a hold on my money and they are not sure if they are going to process it or use it as credit- they stated if they process it then i will not be eligble for a refund but i may return the car! like of course i can return the car so you scumbags can rent it out and get double the money. so as of right now i have 2 cars- i no longer need the rental but i refuse to return it with out a refund thats bullshit that they can't calculate my reimbursement! first and last time i rent with hertz. they are not for their customers. read more

I will not use this Hertz location again. I ordered a car online, and indicated that I needed pick up and drop off service. I also indicated that I needed Never Lost GPS. I called the location in the morning to check when they would pick me up. Initially, I was told that they could not pick me up. I responded that I had ordered pickup and if they could not accommodate it, they should have called. I was then put on hold, and the agent returned to the line to tell me that now they could pick me up. A very nice young woman did pick me up. This site has a very limited number of cars to choose from. My rental car did not have GPS. At first, they told me I could drive to Boston Logan Airport to pick up another car with Never Lost. When I indicated that was out of the way, they gave me a GPS that they found in a closet, but that did not work. When I returned the car, they told me they could not take me home. An agent called a cab for me for an additional fee. A very old cab pulled up with another passenger in it who was very upset that she now had to share the cab with another passenger. We will never rent from this location again, will probably never get another car from Hertz Rent A Car either. We rented a mini van in order to take our family to Maine for a long weekend. Hertz quoted us a price over the phone when we reserved our rental; however, when we went to pick up the vehicle they increased the price by $10.00, with no explanation given. As my father was in the hospital and we were in a hurry to get home in time for our son's college graduation, we decided that it would not be worth the trouble to argue about the cost. After my husband inspected the vehicle he informed the staff that it was dirty; their response was that it wasn't their fault and that there was nothing they could do about it. We hadn't noticed it at Hertz, but on the way home we discovered that there was an unpleasant odor as well - it smelled like dogs and urine. My husband called to complain about it when we got it home and the staff told us that there were no other vehicles available. We ended up having to buy three car fresheners to cover the odor. When we brought the mini van back they did reduce the price of the rental by $100.00, so I have to give them credit for that, but that was only to compensate us for their complete lack of customer service.
