Like others who have given reviews, if I could give zero stars, I would. First of all, the young man (Dylan) working there didn't know what he was doing because I made a reservation on Priceline that he disregarded and changed. Next, the car was a mess. There was stuff spilled all on the doors and popcorn kernels inbetween the seats and the trunk was dirty. It looked like it wasn't cleaned AT ALL. But I had to go with it because it was closing time, so I was out of options. When I called back a week later to extend my reservation, Cindy said that Dylan had been fired and didn't know what he was doing, and she gave me the original price I was supposed to have, did another authorization on my card, and at that point, I was a pretty happy customer. Well Friday rolls around, and I'm supposed to bring it back. I have a lot going on so I forgot about it and thought they were closed for the weekend and would just charge me extra on my card for the extension--no big deal. I called twice and left a voicemail and didn't hear back so thought everything was good. No. Tell me why I got the same woman Cindy from Hertz calling me and telling me they're gonna report the car stolen and that my card isn't authorized (WHEN IT WAS!) and that I have to bring it back immediately? I'm about to tell my 1500 followers on IG and my husband's 5000 followers to NEVER rent a car from this piece of garbage run place. Turns out Cindy is the owner, and she is the biggest unprofessional bitch I've ever met to run a business. ETA: She called the sheriff's department over this whole ordeal! Wow, called in in early to get my car. The only person working here also called everyone else in early so she could close shop. Now watching her rent out cars that haven't been cleaned and have been waiting thirty minutes for a car... still in line and almost to the time of my original appointment. She finally comes back and tells me forty minutes later that she has a car for me but its dirty and I wont take it. Them tried to give me an SUV and tells me it will be double my price. Better bring the car back completely spotless or they will try to charge you a $150 cleaning fee because apparently they have no employees capable of vacuuming and wiping down a car. Plus, because of their bankers hours, even if you return the car after 5pm, you're charged an additional day because they are closed. I travel all the time for work and I've never been charged a cleaning fee from a rental agency and have returned their vehicles in the exact same condition as the one I was charged for this one. No trash at all. A simple vacuum and wipe down is all that's required but this location isn't capable of that simple task. read more

Very helpful to get you into a car, but poorly run inspections. The lady who runs this put in a claim against my insurance to pay for damage that was on the vehicle prior to my taking possession. INSPECT THE ENTIRE VEHICLE YOURSELF before you sign. Do not let her inspect the inside. I was not given the opportunity to inspect the inside of the vehicle before I signed and she made the claim for a damaged windshield and there is nothing that I can do about it. I could not contact her. I originally left them a VM that she claims she claims she did not get. Then her telephone line was not set up for VM so I could not contact them again. I finally contacted Hertz directly and they gave her a message. Very difficult to deal with in a negative situation. No customer service. She is the only one that is right. No compromise. If you can avoid it, do not rent here. read more

If I could give negative I would. I walk in for a car I reserved for a family reunion and within seconds he was talking down to me. He explained insurance policies to me multiple times, all in increasingly demeaning tones, and would barely let me get a word out. He would ask questions, I would barely have time to answer before he was heaping more bull**** out to make me seem even dumber. I will never EVER go to a Hertz again. The disappointment is bad enough that I can't see my family. Having to be treated like a child is just the nail in the coffin. read more

This is THE most unprofessional car rental place I have ever dealt with. They messed the reservation up and completely disregarded our Priceline reservation. Well she fixed it so that was fine until the real issue happened. So we originally were supposed to have the car for a week. We extended it another week and she authorized our card over the phone. Well we have a lot going on between both her parents being sick in the hospital at the same time and with work and a baby that it really just slipped our mind to return it. So we realize and call at the exact time it's supposed to be returned to tell them we'd like to extend the rental until Monday. No answer, so my wife left a message. No phone calls returned until mid afternoon on Sunday when she says she's reporting the car stolen. Wow, talk about terrible business!! Then after we are ten minutes out, she tries to say she has a family emergency and has to leave early (supposed to close at 6). Well of course we're mad because the only reason we came up there was because she was threatening to report the car stolen, and it's a 40 minute drive that we were 30 minutes into! So my wife says she's dropping the car off and will have to pay her over the phone/through the mail/etc because it wasn't our fault that she had to leave early. So the rental woman owner, Cindy, calls the cops you know what they did? Made her let my wife return the car and pay for it... so what was all that for? She could have just done that from the beginning without calling the police. And she charged an extra $300 when my wife doesn't smoke and the car was cleaner than the condition it came in. read more

If it was possible to give zero stars then I would. If I had known that this location was a franchise instead of owned by Hertz I would have never rented from this location. My experience was a nightmare from the beginning, starting when the tire pressure light was on as soon as I drove the car off the lot. Two tires were over inflated and one was practically flat. Then, during my journey, the Maintenance Required light came on. I called Hertz Emergency Roadside Service. The person I spoke with tried to contact the location that I rented from (during business hours) to determine the maintenance history on the car. When no one answered, they arranged an exchange for me at the nearest airport. Upon my return, the manager of the franchise called to inform me that I would be responsible for whatever expenses were required to get the car back from the exchange location (Orlando) to the franchise location (Jackson, TN). I explained that I had simply done what ERS had told me to do, to which she replied by blaming me for driving the car further than I should have (the contract included 750 miles before being charged for extra mileage. At that point in had driven about 800 miles). It appears that the real issue is that she personally owns every car in her fleet. She pays Hertz to use their name, but cannot/chooses not to provide the service that the company itself can provide renters. Now she has a car in Orlando and is going to charge me to get it back. Learn from my mistakes!! Don't rent from this location! read more

TJ took amazing care of me today when I had a rental car snafu with one of their competitors. Our company used to only use Hertz and I've always had amazing experiences with the Jackson location. This time, they decided to try Budget and it was awful, they had my rental agreement messed up and could not fix it until Monday (when I'm supposed to be in another city in said car). So, I made a phone call, got it switched to Hertz (an hour before they closed), called TJ and he made sure everything was easy and perfect! His great personality and attitude was refreshing too! Hertz has my rental business for life, especially the Jackson, TN location, it's worth the extra 5 minutes drive! Thanks for saving the day! read more

Reasons why I would never recommend this place 1.)I booked the rental and picked up on Sunday evening and did not have proof of insurance, was told by John that I could provide proof on Monday morning, we live an hour away so my insurance faxed the proof, after we were 8 hours from home we were called and told that they would not allow us to use that and would charge 167 for the weeks insurance. 2.)we got 764 taken out of bank account because we used a debit card, we were never told about these extra charges or asked for a second card, then they refunded this amount and tried to charge us more after the car was dropped off 3.)I booked the rental online for 307.99 and was charged way more than that and was given no explanation why 4.) we were 50 miles under the allotted mileage and they tried to charge us several hundred dollars more for going over the mileage, when I presented proof of their error Cindy became upset and she did reverse the charges but said she would put me on the do not rent to list, which is fine with me because I would never recommend anyone to rent from such a fraudulent company!! 5.) we filled the tank on full, and was charged because they could still fit 1 gallon of gas in tank 6.) was told by John and he even wrote it on our brochure unlimited mileage but was told by Cindy that we booked car for 1400 miles Cindy-very rude John-very incompetent, said he was new, i think he needs more training HORRIBLE RENTAL EXPERIENCE!!! read more
