Magnolia Manor & Chapel, owned and operated by Lee and Lyne Sands, is one of those magnificent places. Lee and Lyne bought this old church and turned it into, not just overnight lodging, but a real event venue. The rooms where you stay are so charming and are each decorated individually and made inviting, warm and comfortable. Our room included absolutely everything we would need for a stay. We felt very spoiled. From the comfortable bed, cozy bathrooms and extra blankets, to the delicious cookie and the nighttime chocolates, it was a real winner. But, more wonderful things had yet to come. Our stay included breakfast. We weren't expecting anything big. The evening before Lee and Lyne asked us if we had any food allergies. Well my husband needs egg whites and I'm gluten intolerant. When we walked down the stairs into the dining room, it blew our minds. It was decorated so delightfully, and again so very invitingly. I loved the tablecloth and napkins at each place setting. We smelled something good cooking, but weren't sure what it would be. Oh my gosh, our drinks arrived along with a little appetizer plate of french toast sticks. When I found out they were gluten-free I was in seventh heaven. Next came the glass of enticing mixed fruit. We then enjoyed scrambled eggs (and yes, my husband had egg whites), bacon, and the most delicious hash brown casserole I've ever had. Now that, is A BREAKFAST. They serve lunch and offer brunch on Saturday & Sunday We also found out they have a building in the back with a beautiful patio to listen to different bands while you have drinks and light food. Right now I believe it operates on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. They also have the most splendidly redone chapel. Wonderful place to have a small wedding or celebration. All in all, we will definitely be back and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling through that area. It's not far off the highway between Memphis and Nashville.

The lodging is located in a former church, which has been desanctified. The rooms are big, and clean, and the decor fit the vibe. The lodging is located directly across the street from the coffee shop in town, which has live music on Friday and Saturday nights. If I ever get back to Humboldt, I will definitely stay here again.

Giving 5 stars as this is an excellent, low key park to spend the weekend. We stayed in one of the…read morevintage cabins, which was less-rustic than I had feared. It was very clean. The bathroom was updated with more modern equipment. The kitchen of course is small, but still great for preparing a meal. We enjoyed the charcoal grill and the Adirondack rocking chairs. The trails are nice. The lake is quite charming. The only downside is the amount of goose poop near the beach area and leading to the walkway across the water. It would be great to put some sort of goose deterrent or power wash the sidewalks on a regular basis in order to fix this issue. The check in process was quick and easy and the rangers were helpful. It is nice being off the grid. The Wi-Fi is very weak in the cabins, but we actually appreciated that because technology shouldn't be the focus of your weekend away from home.

I've never seen a hotel breakfast without a muffin or Danish option. Front desk staff never asked how my stay was when checking out. When checking in front desk staff didn't know if there was coffee makers in the room. I am a Hilton Honors member and expect more from Hilton. I definitely do not expect to be lied to. Before you move to this park please do some research or talk to people within the community of…read moreParkway so they can give you the real run down. There are simply not enough words in this world to describe what the new management has done and is currently doing to destroy this park. The new management has been very dishonest with the current residents. For example: I watched new management roam around the park for weeks without saying anything to anybody about any problems on their property. As soon as we signed, the new leases that we were required to sign or you were going to be evicted, they wanted to start putting notices up on the door for things they thought needed to be taken down on our lot. Never once with a Old Management did they have a problem with the things on my lot but I completely understood new management was taking over the park and the rules would be different. My problem with the entire situation was they gave me 24 hours to take down a fence. It took a week to build. And I had to get hateful over the phone with the office manager (which she told me "I'm just the office manager"), and somebody else who's over the property who doesn't even live relatively close to a Parkway Village to get an extended amount of time to take down my fence. They simply could've knocked on my door on the weeks prior, and said once we take over management, this is going to have to come down. The fence was built so my dogs would actually have somewhere to play and be able to run. New management does not seem interested in building any accommodations for people with pets there. So if you have a dog that likes to play and run you'll have to take them to the park down the road. I say all that to say if you move into this park and sign their lease you will shortly start to have problems as well. I'm not the only one in the park who's had problems due to new management. Cars are no longer allowed to be parked in the extra parking by the office, new campers are not to be welcomed at this park, because they are not going to allow them anymore, and so on. It just never ends with this place . And if you think I'm lying just add yourself to their little Facebook group within the community you'll see it all! Let me add: most of the people within this community are great people! And the park is BEYOND safe for the area. I truly never had one problem in this park when it comes to my property being stolen/damaged (which says a lot because the park isn't on the best side of town).
