Box 1416 Southaven, MS 38671 Re: Invoice # 1044 To whom it may concern: On October 26, 2019, four of your Coach buses arrived at Southaven High School at 11:30 am to transport our marching band students to Northwest Rankin High School in Flowood, MS. Our original departure time was 7:15 am, but due to the heavy rain our scheduled time to perform at Northwest Rankin High School was pushed back approximately 4 hours. After all busses where loaded, it was brought to the driver's attention that one of the buses was pouring water from the roof into a section of seats. The driver spoke with the other drivers and then made a phone call. He told us that they where going to be able to switch out the busses at Exit 206. Exit 206 is Grenada, MS. So at least 4 of our students had to ride in seats that where soaked with water while water continued to pour on them for 87.3 miles. The buses were switched out at Grenada. Per one of our Band Directors the 2nd bus had a very bad odor (musky & moldy), and it also had a leak in the roof, not as bad as the first one, but none the less a leak. There was obviously no walk-through check of the bus prior to the picking up of the students. We also had a parent chaperone give us several videos that she took of one of the bus drivers talking on his phone while driving and riding down the middle of the center lane on the route back to Southaven. In our opinion this is a very unsafe practice. Our original estimate with your company was $ 7020.00. A few days before we where to take the trip you came back saying we would have to pay an additional $ 3281.30 because the original itinerary had the trip spilling over into the next day. At that point in time, we decided to pay the extra amount because we were still scheduled to leave at 7:15 in the morning. The busses where used 4 hours less then we originally thought where going to have to be used due to the weather. Our original time to leave was 7:15 am and return at approximately 2:30 am, the revised schedule due to weather was Departure time 11:30 return at approximately 2:45 am. A difference of 4 hours and 15 minutes than we originally thought. Due to the revised itinerary being just barely over the 14 hour billable work day established by your company policy, and the deplorable conditions of at least one of your busses, we are at this time officially requesting a refund in the amount of $3281.30. We feel that this is fair. We understand that you made the effort to switch out the faulty bus, but the replacement was not much better and several of our students had to endure uncomfortable conditions for the remainder of the trip down and the whole trip back. Please remit payment to our address above. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Regards, Norm Arent Treasurer, Southaven Band Boosters

First, map pointer is off. Location for Megabus Terminal is 3921 American Way, Memphis, TN 38105…read more At least that's where we caught the bus from Dallas, heading to VA. I do not see this info listed on the Megabus page either. My brother and I rode the Megabus (in June 2018) from Dallas, TX all the way to Richmond, VA, with a bus changes in Memphis, TN and Atlanta, GA. I'm going to share the same review with those Megabus Yelp business pages. Our trip took around 36 hours. First, the bad: WiFi did not work on ANY of the three buses we rode. It's time consuming. Our journey was 36 hours end to end. Cleanliness of bathroom deteriorates rapidly as the journey wears on. I considered it "For emergency use only." There is no running water. There might have been hand sanitizer. Now the good. Inexpensive. Nothing beat it. Not Greyhound. Not Amtrak. If you have more time than money, or just want an adventure, Megabus is OK. Buses were clean. Buses have a bathroom, but it's nothing more than a chemical toilet. It was an adventure. 110 volt A/C power outlets did work on all buses. Oh, and since it was summer, there were no airline deals either. The bus stops about every 2 hours for a break. It generally stopped at a truck stop, where you could use a restroom with running water, and get something to eat. Our bus change in Memphis was long. It gave us enough time to take an Uber to Beale St. It was also at night. Neighborhood was kinda sketchy, but there was indoor waiting area with vending machines and bathrooms. There's a gas station next door that serves hot food. Our bus change in Atlanta was shorter, but it was long enough to search out some breakfast within walking distance. It was morning for this stop. Neighborhood was OK. There was no indoor waiting area and I think there were restrooms if you went in the MARTA station (below). We arrived in Richmond at night and walked to our hotel. I did not seeing any waiting area, though it is close to the (Amtrak) train station, in the Main Street Station, so there might be something there. There are waiting rooms, but I don't know the hours. https://www.yelp.com/biz/main-street-station-richmond About the bus: It's a double-decker bus. If you are prone to motion sickness, there is less sway on the bottom, but try to get toward the front, as the bathroom is in the back. Upper seats have a better view, and the roof is transparent. During the day it was quite enjoyable. There are reserved seats, and if they are available, will cost you a little extra. We only had reserved seats on one bus. Not having a reservation was not a problem. There are some sections, up and down, where the seats face each other (with a small table in the middle). So if you are a party of 3 or 4, it would be good to reserve these seats. You might want to hedge your bet, and reserve seats opposite of each other. This way you'll play footsies with someone you know, not a stranger. It seems obvious now, but the reserved seats are the ones with BIG numbers on them. Once the bus is loaded, it seems OK to move into those seats, but you don't know if they are going to be reserved for the next leg of your journey. The bus does drop off and pick up along the way, though not necessarily at all stops. Some stops are just breaks to stretch your legs, and last 10 to 20 minutes. You might want to bring an extension cord, or have a long charging cable. Sometimes the power is overhead. Brings snacks and drinks, but not alcohol, as it's not allowed. We asked a couple drivers what would happen if you were caught. The answer varied a bit, but it seems likely you will be kicked off the bus. Where you are asked to leave seems to depend on your attitude. If you need anything during the trip, bring it with you when you go to your seat. You can't access your checked bags en route. Consider bringing ear buds or plugs, and eye shades. My conclusion: It was just too many hours. Man this trip dragged on. I would consider it for shorter trips, in fact I'd like to see more of Memphis. And them maybe take a riverboat to New Orleans, and Megabus back to DFW. Bottom line: Good adventure. No problems. No regrets. I would rate 0 if I could. On several occasions, I have ordered from the grocery stores and…read moreconvenience stores in the Uber Eats App and the items ordered are not available. I have spoken to Uber about this. Today it culminated. They did not have my vanilla ice cream and sent me notice of the substitution of strawberry to approve. I said, "no, just cancel the order and refund". After all, why do I need chocolate chip cookies, that are sky-high anyway, without my vanilla ice cream. Uber had the nerve to say the only remedy for me was to pay the shopper who rode her bike to the store. I said no I don't pay Uber's employees. I suggested they have the store do it. Mind you, they wanted me to take strawberry as a substitute not another brand of vanilla ice cream. Can you believe that? I want my refund. The second I received the notification to substitute I responded to cancel as the shopper was still shopping. This is another example of big business who have many tax write-offs that enable them to pay, if at all, an unfair portion of their taxes wanting to steal the money of the middle class. Well, not today. Today, I am fighting back. It's not about the money. I have taken rides with Uber drivers who state that Uber takes the most of what I pay if I ride. I know that to be true because a driver showed me where he was getting paid $3.00 for a ride, and I know that was so much less than Uber quoted to me. It is the Uber corporation and its affiliated companies doing the same thing. I love supporting these workers, but it seems Uber wants to steal money at all costs from whomever. Well, not here. I plan to take this as far as it takes to stop Uber. So, take a stand. Let me know if anything similar has happened to you by responding to this post. Let's force Uber to take responsibility for their fair share. Will keep you posted. This is The Doc (Clergy Who Takes A Stand).
