    In line waiting for a car felt like eternity with these guys, with limited staff being seen to took nearly an hour. The staff that l did see made your wait even longer due to them trying to up sell extras to the customers waiting for their rental. With my eagle eye I scanned the car for damage and found two areas with damage, if you are not on the ball you will be invoiced. There is an app where you can book a rental, but is hard to navigate, and when you have booked & paid for a car I found ours had canceled some how and we ended up paying again. The only good thing l did see was a free water dispenser. But be aware nothing in life is for free.

    Dishonest. Be warned. I suspect they may be under quota for damage charges. Never rent a car with alloy wheels. Awful customer service!!

I was referred to them through the visiting the UK Facebook group, everybody's recommendation was excellent, some said a little pricey, but the customer service, peace of mind and everything that went along with it made it all that more worthwhile. We rented a car, 9 days, picked up a Milton Keynes England, dropped off at Heathrow airport. Took the train from London, Steve. Our reservation guy even provided us with emailed instructions on how to get to the pickup, drop off locations and our hotel all by train until we picked up our car a few days after arrival. We out there for the full insurance even though our Visa card covers insurance, was not that expensive and worthwhile for the peace of mind. We had no mechanical issues, brand new Kia with about 15,000 mi on it. Was allotted 250 mi a day, we drove north all through Scotland, England, Wales and back to Heathrow with no issues. Definitely recommend this company if you want. Peace of mind and if you're all about customer service, which is extremely important when you're visiting a foreign country from your own. The guy who dropped us off at the airport from Heathrow was awesome as was Steve, our original guy we booked with. We opted for the dash cam and found that it did not have one when we went to drop the car off because we wanted the SD card which you are able to buy. When picking up the guy said there was one in there, pointing to the dashboard, not being familiar with their system. System I took his word for it. We truly wanted the dash cam so we can have a view of our last few hours of driving to take home with us. Other than that, absolutely perfect rental for us.

It cost about $72 USD per day, which I thought was a great value. Checking in and out was relatively easy through Arnold Clarke, their contractor. I didn't like that no one welcomed us when we came in, leaving us to stand awkwardly until they decided to pay us attention. Drop off was easy and they shuttled us to the airport. Forgot to take a picture of the car but we did love taking it up to the Highlands.

Quite the opposite, my original choice of car would have served us much better. The roads were NOT as described by the dishonest employee, not even close. Aside from the lies meant to scare us into a bigger automatic car, the 70% discount was not applied correctly (unless the price of a daily rental magically jumped 100% that day). Again, lies about how their cars regularly rent for £250/day but I can't find anything that expensive on their website, even for the busy tourist season. When I brought these issues and the general rudeness to customer service via email, I was summarily dismissed. The excuse? No one was there to witness the verbal exchange (so my account is not to be believed). If you are forced to use this company, video record all of your interactions so you have proof of mistreatment and dishonest tactics.

The car was returned undamaged on 3 August 2025. A security deposit of £1,505.00 was deducted from our credit card on 28 July 2025. This deposit has not been refunded by 15 November 2025 despite repeated requests for both refund and explanation for the delay. Green Motion have sent 2 emails on 18 August 2025 and 1 October 2025 saying the deposit will be refunded. Since then we have had no response to emails or phone calls. We are now back home in Australia and this has become very stressful and difficult to deal with given a total lack of communication and the tyranny of distance. We have been regular customers of Green Motion UK since 2018 and have never had an issue but waiting 3.5 months for a refund of a security deposit is both ridiculous and unacceptable.

I have photos of the damage (nicks, scratches, etc.) being present at the time of rental. A month later and half way around the world I'm still contesting. I suppose I can accept part of the blame for not checking Yelp beforehand. If I had, I probably would gone elsewhere given the number of outright negative reviews. After calling Sixt, they promised to get back with a solution within 60 min. After 60 minutes, they told us we will get a replacement tire within 90 min. After 90 min, they told us, that they couldn't find a replacement, they will recover us and the car within the next 90 min. After again 90 min they told us they will send us a taxi in 90 min. So in total it took more than 6 hours to wait for a taxi. They did not replace the car for the next day, so we had to cancel our tee-time at a golf course with no refund. In the end they charged the full price (incl insurance) for the second day without a car! Everybody friendly but the whole system is grossly incompetent! I am using Sixt all over Europe and in the US and never had such a bad experience! Since weeks I am trying now to get my money back for the second day. No reaction! This is incredibly poor customer service! I will need a lawyer!

First when we arrived from the US and went to the agency, we found out that our reservation was canceled. Unfortunately our flight had been delayed for 3 hours. We had no way of contacting the agency as we were on a flight. They gave our confirmed rental to someone else. The agency found a van on the site and gave that t us. That is where the problems began. Initially we were advised not to utilize the left side passenger door as it was not operational. We agreed we were on with that although not ideal. We had a 7 day rental. On the 5th day while driving back from St Andrews to Edinburgh, we experienced a flat tire. Thankfully, we were near an exit and we able to pull off the road safely. We called the age and they sent out a recovery agent. This took over 3 hours. When the recovery agent arrived he informed us that this was the 3rd time this month he as our for the same vehicle. He inspected the tire and informed us that this vehicle should never have been rented out. The tire was extremely bald and extremely dangerous to drive on. At that point we decided to return the car. We had to incur the extra expense of getting back to Edinburgh by bus. Fast forward to arriving home and trying to get a refund for the two days of rental we did not use What a nightmare!!! Due to Easirent canceling our reservation, we had to pay again. DOUBLED CHARGED FOR THIS INSAFW VEHICLE. When I called to ask for the refund the manager Scott was extremely rude. I said do you realize how unsafe this vehicle was. If the tire blew out it could have caused a very bad accident injuring or Kiki g the 5 people in the vehicle as well as others around us. He did not care and tried to blame it on our use. I booked through Expedia and I initially they could not get them to change their decision. We had to contact the credit card companies to assist. We are still waiting on their reply. Today I found out they reimbursed us $270 pounds which equates to $296 US dollars. This does not even come close to what we paid for the 7 days nor the inconvenience we had to endure and the expense for the bud tickets. We asked them to reimburse us a total of $619.95 in US dollars to make us whole. They continue to refuse even-though they received that amount twice. I am posting pictures of the bald tire on the vehicle for all to see. This company DOES NOT MAINTAIN THEIR VEHICLES. RENTERS BEWARE. I had to do one star for the review but trust me it should be 0.
