Agent was pretty unprofessional in both behavior and appearance. The car they put me in was filthy dirty. Windows were grimy and carpets dirty. I pointed out the dirty windows and the agent asked me -"Do you want us to clean the windows"? That tells you everything you need to know. Do better Hertz. You are not a discount agency. read more

Very disappointing experience with Hertz Delray Beach. I reserved a Tesla Model 3 through the Uber app because it showed one was available. When I arrived, there were no Teslas. Jasmine offered me a Polestar as a temporary solution until a Tesla became available. While we were inspecting the Polestar, a red Tesla actually arrived. I made it clear that I wanted that Tesla because I have a Tesla charger at home, and she said she would contact me as soon as it was ready. I emailed her my phone number when I got home so there would be no excuse for not reaching me. Instead, I later got an email saying the Tesla had already been given away and that I would be stuck with the Polestar until the following week. That mattered because the Polestar would cost me about $45 every time I needed to fully charge it at a public station. Since I rented through Uber, those extra charging costs on top of the rental made the deal nearly impossible to justify financially. Hertz did absolutely nothing to make this right. Even worse, the local branch does not answer the phone, so everything had to be documented through email. Do not advertise Teslas as available if you cannot provide them, and do not promise customers a swap if you have no intention of following through. read more

Hertz Rent A Car - Email explaining they have my Monday and there is nothing they will do to help - Car Rental Near Me - Delray Beach, Florida

This place is crazy. I reserved a car online because my car broke down. When I pulled up in my Uber, they came outside and told me there were absolutely no cars for me. I had a reservation. No compassion no anything not trying to call another Hurt. Nothing just sent me away. I would never go here and I would never send anyone to this place. read more

Hertz is AWFUL. They almost killed me. I rented a car the weekend of 4th of July. It was just bad timing for me to need a rental as I had doctors appointments and a surgery that I specifically came to town and rented the car for. They were sold out of everything except for electric vehicles so I had to go with that. All other companies were sold out. Monday morning, right after my first doctors appointment, I am driving on the highway on the way to my surgery appointment and the car just starts decelerating!! Picture this- I'm on I95 in South Florida where people are flying by 100mph+ and the car is STOPPING itself. The panel just had a big red, dead battery sign, but the battery life was showing at 80 something percent. I didn't know what was going on. The car literally just stopped working and died in the middle lane on the highway. Scariest effing thing ever. It came back on for a minute and I couldn't go more than like 10 mph, but I got it off of the highway at least. Barely though. Now I'm on a remote exit where there's nothing around and people still whizzing by. It was not safe for me to be in the car. So I get out of the car and I'm standing on the side of the road. They told me from whatever Diagnostics they could do remotely that it was not the battery as in the "gas" to the vehicle, but the actual 12 volt battery that was dead. -There was no reason for it. It made no sense. They said they would send roadside assistance out. Now here is another thing that makes no sense- roadside assistance can replace a battery if needed. But NO hertz wanted to send them out just to jump the battery so that I could take it MYSELF to a nearby store with a voucher and wait there while the battery got changed. Absolutely made no sense, but I had no other option at that time, standing on the side of the road in 100° boiling hot. Roadside assistance comes about an hour later and says I don't know what they're talking about. There's nothing wrong with this battery. You need a new alternator. And that is something that needs a tow truck for. I now have to cancel my surgery. I call Hertz back and tell them about how the roadside assistance left and we need a new company with a tow truck. I waited and waited. At this point I was over two hours in the blistering heat. There's no shade around. I can't sit in the car because it's unsafe, I'm worried about getting hit. There's also no AC because the battery's dead. It's so hot outside that I am not only burnt to a crisp already but my cell phone has overheated and I can't even text or make phone calls without problem. I called hertz back and said I need to get back to the house I'm staying at for my own safety and while I can still make a phone call to get somebody to pick me up. They said that was fine. They didn't need me there for the tow truck to get there. The entire reason for me coming to Florida was ruined. I had to cancel a surgery that I could not get for another month. And I was never even contacted to see if I was OK or to refund me or anything. That evening, I called back and had to ask THEM for my refund. They said there's a process I have to go through where they would put in a case submission for review and I would hear back within two weeks on if they were giving me a refund or not. I can't even express how I felt. Your car almost killed me. You made me sit on the side of the road in very harsh conditions for over two hours. I was made to cancel an important surgery and wasted days of my life....and you're not even sure if I'm gonna get a refund? I went back-and-forth with them over the next three weeks having to open up a couple disputes before they finally gave me my money back. I have still never been told what happened or asked if I was OK. No apology, no credit offer for almost killing me, they couldn't even cancel and refund me on their own!! I don't even think a refund makes me whole in this situation!!! Awful awful company to use. Just don't do it. read more

if i could give a lower review i would never ever will i use hertz again they will charge you massive in fees for tolls and its outragous

Get rid of Eddy. There's a reason why they only have two stars. Not only are they temperamental they're rude. If I could give zero stars, I would. It seems as if they're doing me a favor by renting me a car, leaving me on hold for almost 2 hours when I made a phone call from my condominium to let them know I wanted a zero balance on my receipt because the company fixing my car was going to pay for it , I drove all the way to Hertz sat and waited, I told Eddie it took almost 2 hours of being on hold with no answer he couldn't care less. Do not shop here. There are plenty of places within 1 mile to rent a car. read more

My reservation was for 12, they called and said it had to be switched to 12:30. I get there at 12:30 and the car isn't there yet. The cars driver side window button comes off. We return the car and I didn't get an email confirming my return. A week later someone calls me asking if I returned the car. I thought that was hilarious, I never experienced that before. There's a reason this place had like 1.5 stars on Apple Maps. I usually use enterprise but they were sold out of the car we wanted. read more

Manager has terrible attitude problem. Yelled at my elderly mother after she complained a car they tried to give us has scratches was dented up and smelt bad. I'm reading bad reviews about this place. I don't know why. The cars are new and clean The price is fair.(although it is off season). The manager is efficient , energetic and helpful. I have a reservation this Wednesday . No anxiety. They will be very fast and accomodating. read more

Steve is the rudest customer service individual I have ever encountered. We left without even getting a car because this guy was so impossible. Please make the customers feel like you want to help them , remember your in your element, we are not. Stop saying no to everything. Clean the cars that you plan on renting. The single one they had for us was dirty and had a very strong perfume odor. The gentleman who took us home was pleasant. read more

I didn't know if reviewing a rental car company but after trying a few other cheaper one I realized that the few dollars more you pay at hertz is totally worth it. The service, the speed and even the quality of cars are alway consistent and good read more

Hertz has a new scam where they open a toll processing company and charge you $10 a day convenience fee for it if you have to use a .30 cent toll daily for travel. They even try to act like the company has nothing to do with them, but have the same logo theme. Don't bother trying to call customer service unless you're trying to make a reservation. It's just an automated operator after automated operator. read more

Definitely the most unhelpful and rude experience I've had renting a car. The worker was extremely dismissive and refused to answer questions in anyway except for yelling and making us feel stupid. Made us call hertz phone number instead of actually helping us himself and the phone operator was pleasant and nice and helpful. It's a shame the actual location couldn't be. I would NEVER return here. read more

Worst experience ever. Called 30 minutes before reservation to give me a much smaller car and wouldn't accommodate me. Forced me to pay the full size rate for a completely different vehicle class. Do not do not rent from here. They are the worst kind of people. They make up lies and they try to avoid any conlifct. They should be ashamed to even be a store. You can tell none of them have experience. There was an older dude in the back who kept looking at my wife and it made her uncomfortable. I can not even begin the amount of anger I have for this location. To the owner of this place, fire your staff right now and get new ones. I promise it'll be best for everyone!!! read more

Great service, Stephanie was very professional, polite and proactive. This branch runs very smooth. Thanks Hertz Delray read more

No words to truly express how horrible my experience has been so far: * State Farm allocates $19.99 per day for coverage. My reservation confirmed this. * My wife went in to secure the $19.99 per day economy vehicle and was told she would be leaving with a Chrysler 300. My wife said no thank you, employee said, "It will only cost you $.25 more per day. The Chrysler 300 was $39 per day almost double my budget. * I went back immediately and got car #2. Car #2 lasted two days until I saw oil leak pic on my garage floor. * I went back that morning and secured vehicle #3. Vehicle #3 today had the temp control unit fall into the dash. It's going back in the morning. THIS LOCATION IS HORRIBLE!!! read more

We had a good experience renting from this location! The car we rented was unavailable so they honored our pricing and upgraded us! Car was clean, staff was friendly and we had no issues upon return. Upon our second time renting a couple weeks later location was under staffed, long wait for pick up, received a dirty car and now upon my return home have been charged almost $100 in fees for items that were not my issue or included in rental. read more

Was locked out of car due due to remote key issue. On hold 30 minutes and finally walked to auto parts store and replaced battery!!

loyal customer no more please read i'm easy going rent cars to go on trips for business or pleasure they don't check the cars when they are returned and they have given me compact cars when i pay for full size so they can use my full size to upsell someone else have had issues with cars as small as leaking tires where i have to add air one time we went through 4 cars one had j what in my opinion was a menstrual stain on the seat and then 2 other cars were out of service they don't check the cars. yesterday i ordered a full size and they told me it would be 10 min to clean i come back in 25 just vacuumed and dirty i took it as i had to leave pack the car at my house go to drive the speakers are blown so now i gave to go back an exchange it and this car shakes after 70mph and is unsafe and the tire pressure on all 4 tires are low so i have to add air i called corporate and had to get up early to exchange it and they will now get a nice new car in return awful never again avoid read more

Zero stars would be to many for this place! I reserved a mid size suv and they tried to give me a small suv. Instead of admitting the mistake they tried to tell me this was a mid size suv. When I did not agree, the agent asked if I was some auto expert and how would I know the difference between an small or mid size suv. Then the agent said things could be different if I didn't have such a attitude. I told him I wouldn't have a problem if you just gave me the car I made a reservation for. This agent would know about bad attitudes, he also works next door at Thrifty and he wasn't very pleasant when I rented there a few weeks ago either. In fact I went with Hertz this time wanting to avoid him again. Stay away from this location at 600 Se 5th ave I walked down the street to Enterprise and got a free upgrade! read more

The best customer service. I know times are tough but, Harvey and Cody are amazing guys! They returned a wallet that was thrown out

I've been here twice and both times they didn't have enough cars so I was given a smaller car than I wanted. Need more cars

prices can be good for rentals, just make sure you NEVER accidently leave anything in car. there is no lost & found. my girlfriend left her prescription eyeglasses. did not realize until following morning. go back this am to see if they have them & get rudely told to go where car cleaner is to check for herself. they had already been thrown in the trash & thankfully car cleaner could dig them out before all trash was emptied. not even the common courtesy to call a customer & let them know they left something of value in their vehicle. very poor customer service. they must keep anything worth something to them & throw out the rest. definitely will not use this rental company in the future. read more

Very bad experience at this rental car . Harvey I guess is the owner or manager of this Hertz facility . Run don't rent from here they didn't have many cars to choose from and I was charged over 150.00 more because the insurance was handled poorly . I will never rent from Hertz again read more

I had rented a car from Hertz on Jan 9,2022 for my 2 week stay in Delray Beach. On Jan 11th the passenger side wiper was not functioning properly. I found a local Hertz at SE 5th Ave in Delray and walked in. The Branch Manager Harvey Bello met me at the door and assessed the situation. He then offered me a replacement rental car and after a short time I had new rental paper work in hand and was on the road again, problem solved. Needless to say I was very impressed. Great customer care service!!! I'll be a Hertz customer from now on. Thanks Harvey, keep up the good work and much appreciated. read more

We rented a full size car, but when we got there they only had a mid size SUV. For some that may be better, but not in our case and let me tell you why. So we were traveling for my birthday to Tampa and we each had luggage that obviously needed to be in a trunk space, but they gave us a huge truck with no cover for the hood so we each had to put our luggage in garbage trash bags half way through our road trip because it started pouring raining. The car was pretty small inside. They tried to convince us that our AAA insurance wasn't good when it covered a lot more than theirs and saved us money. Thank goodness for the other guy who was being honest and telling us to keep ours. read more

I recently used this location with my mother who is having a large surgery. She rented a vehicle that was far too large to get in and out of and we really needed to swap to a different vehicle. While we did have to call regularly to check the stock of vehicles on hand, as they change hourly, we were able to get the car we needed in exchange for the previous vehicle. Cody was actually very accommodating and after having spoken to a few folks at this location, Cody and Stephen were very helpful. No issues, pretty easy transaction and was thankful beyond measure for the more suitable vehicle. read more

I wish that I could give this a ZERO RATING. I am a platinum member and needed help with a reservation and was treated so poorly, the supposed manager hung up on me today and still have no resolution with the rental. Everyone seemed very nice and helpful until the end. We were renting a car thru insurance as our car was stolen and had an apparent miscommunication with insurance thru Hertz. We were asked which plan we would like to purchase and weren't given the option of not taking their insurance. This is especially prudent because as a part of our auto insurance we pay for rental insurance monthly. We feel extremely slighted and taken advantage of especially bc it ended up costing us over $800, it was like being violated all over again. read more

This location is terrible. We rented a truck for temporary use while our new truck was being sent to us from being repaired. We've done business in this capacity multiple times at other rental agencies. The other place didn't have a box truck available so we went to this group. Really sketchy office with a rude guy behind the counter. Selling greyhound tickets, yelling in a thick Brooklyn accent and it smelled like a sewer inside. Signed the rental agreement and went to inspect. Guy plays bumper cars trying to get truck out of undersized lot. After 3 weeks we return no problems. We get a random bill months later saying we owe for damage! Even after we returned and have paperwork saying "No Damage upon return" they try to randomly bill us $1500! Talked to office they all were rude. I show the paperwork and then they don't call me back. Then get a call out of nowhere from hertz billing saying we have an outstanding invoice!!! We'll never use hertz again and we rent long term at multiple locations throughout the state! Lost a great customer due to lying and incompetence. Buyer beware!! read more
