I've experienced long waits to sign in for a rental car before, but not after getting the car. During the customary check of the car, we discovered it was out of windshield fluid. After notifying the front counter, it took forty minutes for it to get filled as they kept helping other customers. The staff was rather unmotivated too. Other than that, the car itself seemed fine except for its version of Android Auto being extremely outdated and a dirty exterior. Returning the car a couple weeks later at least had no issues and was relatively quick. Inside has restrooms, provided the doors aren't accidentally locked. A couple of chairs are placed in front of the counter, but the hallway feels too narrow to sit with other customers always around. read more

The worst Hertz I have ever been to. I rented a Tesla Model 3 for a week, and had the reservation about a week in advance. I showed up 30 mins early to my reservation and filled out everything and they told me the car would be ready in just a few minutes. I didn't get the car for another HOUR AND HALF. I waited in the lobby asking where the car was while everyone in line after me was getting theirs right away. Eventually they told me there was something unexpected with it and they were vacuuming and cleaning. They also told me there would be about 30% charge on the car when it arrived, which was really low but whatever. Once I got the car I did an inspection and everything seemed normal. Except the charge was at 22%!! So not only did I have to push back my plans that I had but I had to spend even more time at a supercharger to get it to where it should have been. A day afterwards, I opened the frunk to discover a half-eaten Subway sandwich among other trash, which was absolutely disgusting. I can't believe my first experience renting an M3 (for $500+ nonetheless) was going to be this poorly managed. I'll never get a vehicle from this location ever again, and I suggest you do the same. read more

Poor, poor Tony. He was the only person working (while attempting to train a new employee) on the Friday before 4th of July. He did a stunning job of managing a line out the door of the standing-only office and the hotel it is located in. Even when the computer went down. Even when the couple in front of the couple in front of us couldn't come up with a credit card and zip code that matched. Even when a guy came back to complain of a low-tire light and wanted a new rental instead of an air-fill. Even when another guy wanted a free upgrade to a larger car. Even when another couple needed the coverages for insurance explained to them in detail several times. He remained patient, friendly and even funny. An employee (I believe his name is Chris) from this location called 4 hours before pick up time to let me know they don't have the cargo van I reserved. Closest one is in Everett and that I would have to find my own way there 2 hours earlier than reservation time as that location closed earlier than theirs. When asked if they can send the vehicle, response was no as they're just too busy. Inquired whether they would reimburse for the longer taxi ride (this location is a mile away from my house while the Everett location is 30 miles away), response was can not guarantee and maybe up to $15. Asked whether I can return to Bellevue location without additional cost, response was he thinks so. When pushed to provide an option that would guarantee that I will be reimbursed for extra cost or anything else they can do. THE EMPLOY SAID "I think I quit, sorry" AND HUNG UP! Worked with Vicente to get a rental while my car was on the shop. Excellent experience! He met me at the shop on time, processes paperwork quickly and car was in great condition. On the return, I met him at hertz and he brought me back to the shop without any issues, again, super prompt service. Really appreciate the speed an flexibility. They opened at 7:00AM and Matt (the asst mgr) was there on time to greet and take care of me. Matt also gave me a generous $20 credit for arriving via taxi. So why only two stars you ask??? Because the car I received might have been the dirtiest car (inside and out) I've ever received in more than 30 years of renting cars. To Matt's credit, when he presented the car to me, he apologized about the dirty condition on the outside, and yet, since I was in such a rush at 7:00 am, I only asked him to clean the interior door sides. AVOID! I rented a car at SeaTac, which developed engine problems on I-405. I was able to get the car to this location to return it. Although I only had the car for +/- 30 minutes and it did not perform, the employee at this location (also named Chris as in the other poor review poainsisted on charging me for an entire day. After a frustrating exchange on the topic, I took down the name of the employee to pursue a remedy with Hertz management at a later time as I had to get to a meeting. When I tried to rent a car from Hertz at another city the following week, I learned that Hertz placed me on a permanent Do Not Rent list because the employee at this Bellevue location falsely accused me of spitting on him when returning the poor performing car. No doubt this was a preventive move to avoid my follow-up with management on how he handled my situation. I rented from Hertz almost weekly for 20 years with no incidents, was a member of the Presidents Circle, etc... Hertz management refuses to consider any appeal of my situation or to follow-up further. AVOID Update: I have recently learned that Chris Plummer, an employee at this Bellevue location, filed a false police report against me. Moreover, he told the police that the incident that caused him to file the report may have been an accident. Then why file a report? Hertz management continues to refuse to investigate and will not tell me who I can discuss this with. Again, I am a twenty-year Hertz customer, Presidents Circle, etc... If they ignore me, then everyone who interacts with this employee is vulnerable to this type of character assassination. read more

No Stars to Hertz. Very bad experience with Hertz. Most of the time they will give you car with nearly empty tank and ask you to return it empty. Which is a ridiculous thing . You can fill the tank while returning but how you will give a car with empty tank. So in this case the remaining fuel is their profit. Again the car cost is very high here. I will suggest enterprise. Don't rent a car from here. I always rent a car now-a-days from enterprise. I went to LA and for 7 days I rent a car. No such issues. The price was much cheaper than Hertz. Wow! This was the greatest car rental experience of my life. Tony was very gracious and helpful. He let me know that there was a delay in the previous owners car return, so I didn't have to waste my time going down to the hotel until it was ready . He also provided me with a list of awesome things to do around the area. I will not be using another company from now on! I originally rented with EZ car and was denied service even though I made a reservation months in advance. EZ car has a lot to learn, and they can take notes from Hertz. Dishonest! I was given an upgrade to a small SUV for the price of a sedan since at that time they did not have a sedan. The car was dirty and full of flies but still I happily accepted an upgrade. Later I was surprised to see a 200+ upgrade charge on my Visa. I tried to resolve an issue but was told they have no record of this and this is not what I signed. Watch their hands carefully and make sure you have it on paper. I'm surprise Hertz would use such lame tactics a result to dishonesty, extortion and theft. The manager on duty was totally unprofessional and rude. I would not continue my business with them because my purchase was legit and the supervisor completely denied it and he was extremely rude. This is what happened: I rented/pre-booked a car from Expedia from 5/8 (10:30 AM) - 5/11 (11:00PM) and then went in on Hertz on 5/08/2016 to rent a car. Without any issues, I was able to rent a car (please see a screenshot attached). The person who rented me a car circled all the important information and the date of purchased and returned time was one of them he circled. He then walked me to car and we did regular check-up and I took the car. On 5/10/2016 - I called Hertz to extend the car and instead of their representative helping me with my issue, I was informed that I will be charged extra if I return the car after 6Pm (PST); I will be charged an additional $60-$70. So this means, my current purchase with Expedia was invalid and I would need to keep the car till 11:00 PM today. I would have to return the car 5 hours prior to the time, which I did because they would have charged me extra. The fact that their manager was so rude and inconsiderate and his tone was unbelievable - I would not consider them at all. I think even if they had made a mistake with my purchase, he could have at least been nice about it. read more

He knows nothing about coverage and discounts so beware when he said he has given you discounts. What a headache to deal with this place from the start, at the end he closed our rental contract without double checking the numbers. In the lot, the staff didn't say the car only have half tank of gas until I left the lot. My first negative Yelp review for poor business practices offered by polite and seemingly professional employees. I do not blame the people. I had a fixed corporate rate and was told that only more expensive cars were available. When I refused they "discovered" and offered a car for just about $1/day over my fixed rate. I accepted but turned the car down when it was 31,000+ miles with a dent in the driver's door and other signs of wear & tear. I gave them negative feedback for their business practices and I went to a different rental car company. I will not return to this location; I will not rent from Hertz. This has been my first experience with Hertz and it has been very frustrating. I double booked a reservation but could not cancel this without a penalty of $50. I was told by a booking agent that they would cancel the reservation and then transfer me to someone who could waive the fee. I was transferred 5 times and the 5th time I learned that she could not waive the penalty. I was the redirected to the website. I hired a car on January 2015 for two days at the Hertz location at Red Lion in Bellevue, WA for two days. I made the reservation on their web site and was charged USD 35.64 as a deposit to be deducted from my total bill. Later I discovered that I was charged the total amount. The deposit was not deducted. I found about this after I returned back to Istanbul. I called and left a message with them several times and sent mails about my complaint to no avail. I scanned the ticket/ receipt I was given when I returned the car and attached it to my e-mails. My deposit of USD 5.64 is clearly shown on the ticket. I am visiting Bellevue, WA again now. Last week I called their call center and finally managed to talk to someone as opposed o the tape the previous times. But our conversation wouldnt last till the end as each time I called the "real" person I talked to transferred me to a recorded message. The message advised that I visited the office I hire the car from. I was not going to give up as I have been pursuing the issue over a year. So I visited Hertz's office in the Red Lion hotel in Bellevue. I talked to the only person in charge at the office, named Devin Gros Ventre. He declined helping me claiming that it was not him that overcharged me in the first place!!! Complete waste of my time apart from the aggravation it caused. Recently I have had a use Hertz for local rental for business purposes. These guys are so supportive and helpful that I feel like it's better than Airport treatment. I would give this company negative stars if that was an option. I had a horrible previous experience renting a moving truck from Hertz, and had already sworn never to rent from them again due to the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. I was forced to rent from them again because Toyota of Bellevue gave away my loaner car, and this is who they contract with, so they shuttled me to over to get a vehicle, which they paid most of the cost of. I was responsible only for an additional $10 a day insurance fee. I had the car for four days, and they authorized my card first for $72, then for an additional $182 when they didn't hear back from Toyota about the extra days (without notifying me first, of course). I still cannot get the initial $72 charge reversed despite the fact that I returned the vehicle like ten days ago. They promised to "look into it" and didn't return my call. They also overcharged me by $22 when they actually charged my card, and today I finally found out that was for 1/8 of a tank (two gallons) of gas they claim I didn't refuel. They gave the car to me with 7/8 of a tank. I dropped it off to Toyota of Bellevue (as instructed), with OVER 7/8 of a tank. Now they are saying they got it back with 6/8 of a tank, and "they don't know what to tell me", and "the information they have doesn't support what I am saying". So basically, they are calling me a liar, and then proceeded to additionally lie to me saying they told me to put my fuel receipt in the cupholder as proof that I refueled. I have rented MANY cars in my lifetime, and never have I heard of such a thing, or did this Lying McLiarson, Tony, tell me to do that when he rented me the car. What kind of policy is that, anyway? Put it in the cupholder!?!? Why don't I just throw it on the floorboard to be extra super organized and professional about it. Anyway, rent at your own risk here, they are ridiculous, unprofessional, and have absolutely no honor or respect for good customer service. I ended up getting the charge reversed by my credit card company, because at least THEY appreciate my business. I will be a loyal customer to Alamo from here on out. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! I rented a small compact car and got the $11 insurance, I returned it 3 days later. I spoke with Tony and told him directly that I was dropping off the rental, I asked them if they wanted me to drop it off at their place of business or at the Bellevue Collision Service he said the car shop was fine and to let the car shop call them, which I did. A few days later I see a charge for $60 on my card which totally threw me for a loop since I thought I was gonna get charged the $33. So I called Hertz and spoke to the same man Tony to explain the charges and he said that they charged me for four days at the total amount of $47 and then the rest in fuel. He then said there was some sort of miscommunication and I asked what miscommunication? I called YOU and spoke to YOU directly and informed YOU that I was leaving my work and dropping off the car? what kind of communication do you need? If a customer tells you that they are dropping the car off it usually means that they are dropping the car off. I think that's plain perfect English to me. And then the fuel charge? the tank was full!!!! what the heck??? Why would I fill up the gas tank when the tank was full???? After explaining this to him all he kept repeating was that the shop didn't call him until the next day and that there was a miscommunication. I've worked in customer service before and this by far was very very very bad service. There was no apology at all or we'll fix it or anything to that nature.
