Debbie at Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty in Whitefish was absolutely fantastic. We arrived at the train station to find there was no car waiting for us, despite having booked and paid through a third party. Debbie stepped up, went above and beyond, and brought a car from the airport to the train station for us. She was incredibly kind and helpful, and even gave us loads of great local tips on where to go and what to see. Exceptional customer service. Debbie truly saved the day. Thank you! read more

horrible experience. I prepaid for a rental car and felt like Jerry Seinfeld (if you know you know).

rented a car in advance. arrived at the airport and no cars available. there was a sign at the rental desk saying you need to let them know what flight you're on in order for your car to be ready on time. that would've been helpful to know when I was booking the reservation but pretty hard to see the sign from 600 miles away. staff was wildly unappologetic read more

Both Hertz and Thrifty here are operated by Rocky Mountain Transportation. I rented from Thrifty in March 2026. The car had the oil change light on at pickup. No one at this location answered when Thrifty corporate called twice on my behalf during the rental. When I returned the car and mentioned the oil issue the agent was rude. No inspection was done. I received a $0 final invoice. 48 days later a Utah debt collector contacted me for $1,138.04 -- without a single direct call or email from this location. My State Farm insurance would have covered this at $0 had they simply called me. They failed to respond to a BBB complaint. Rent here at your own risk. read more

Avoid renting from this location! They charged me for an upgrade without informing me and refused to address the issue after the fact. Hertz corporate can't do anything because this location is a franchisee. Super shady way of doing business. I am a President's Circle member with Hertz but I will never rent from this location again due to their deceptive practices. Really bad. read more

Review for Hertz - A Rocky Start Saved by Exceptional Service (Thank you so very much, Debbie P! ) Our recent experience with Hertz started off on a frustrating note. Due to a delayed flight, we called the Hertz customer service line to adjust our pickup time. Unfortunately, we were connected to an offshore representative who made changes to our reservation -- including adding an extra day by mistake. When we called back to correct it, we were routed to yet another agent from a different country. This time, the representative canceled our original reservation and rebooked it as a new one, causing the price to double since it was now treated as a same-day booking. We weren't even aware of the price change until we received the updated itinerary after the call had ended. Exhausted, stressed, and with our vacation already off to a rough start, I reached out to the local Hertz office in Kalispell and spoke with Debbie P. Despite being extremely busy (I could hear the crowd at the counter), she took the time to listen, promised to call me back -- and actually did. To our immense relief, she was able to correct the entire situation, restoring our original reservation dates and the rate we had initially booked. When we finally arrived after midnight, we were greeted by Debbie herself at the Hertz desk. After everything we had gone through, seeing her and knowing everything had been fixed was such a huge relief. She may have just been "doing her job," but to us, she turned what could have been a disastrous start to a long-anticipated vacation into a positive and reassuring experience. Thank you, Debbie P -- your dedication and follow-through made all the difference! read more

Normally I don't wrote review for these kinds of places. But since I saw lots of bad reviews of customer service when I was checking in. I decided to write my own review. The customer service I got was great and friendly. My flight came in at 1am and they stayed after hours so I could get the car. I did call two days before to see what could be done. Aside from that CSR walked through the process which I knew well as I rent a fair amount but it was still nice to see a person doing their job well. read more

First, I was happy that this Hertz location was at the airport and did not require our getting on a shuttle. The service that I received from the gentleman whose family started this Hertz franchise was both professional and friendly. The vehicle that we received exceeded our expectations as it was new and thus in excellent condition. The return information was posted, and dropping off the car was easy. Because of all this, my sons and I enjoyed our trip to Glacier and only wished that we had more time to drive! read more

A licensee location for Hertz. Not an actual corporate branch. Provided a car rental with bald tires and would not give us another car to replace it. Additionally after asking for a discount they wouldn't budge. The manager (Amanda) brought the car to the shop and said there was nothing wrong with the car. Even worse, they said they continued to rent out the car to other customers. Pray for their safety as they drive throughout Montana on those tires. read more

Hertz at Kalispell Airport - Car Rental Near Me - Kalispell, Montana

See all

I have never been treated with more disrespect and have never had a trip ruined so quickly that I have today with hurts. Especially with the manager Amanda. No help, no professionalism. No compassion, nothing. I will never use this company again and I will continue to tell Everyone not to use the service. read more

I have NEVER delta with a more unprofessional company in my life. Personally spoke to the owner of the HERTZ rental companies through Whitefish & Kalispell and he is rude, demeaning and completely unwilling to help. Not to mention DALE(the owner), after asking him since they had a contract with state farm why after 3 hours are we unable to get her(mycousin) the rental car, he told me in more words to "go back upstream...he doesn't care what I ask bc it's not my policy...& mind my own business". For someone who owns a business he is by far the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with & I would never recommended or even wish my worst enemy to deal this company up here!!!!! Worst car rental service ever! Worst owner alive. Spare yourself DONT RENT HERE! read more

We were so excited for our trip to Kalispell. Nothing ruined my trip like Amanda and another older woman at the counter. They were EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful, the worst customer service I have EVER encountered in my life and I've been to many places in my life and encountered many customer service representatives. She and the other woman should be terminated immediately or have a corrective action implemented. I cannot be passionate enough about how horrible these woman were to us. If I could leave negative stars I would. But on the bright side, Karen was very nice and I feel bad that she has to work alongside two terrible woman. read more

Go there even if you don't need a car rental just to see customer service at its finest. These guys helped my wife and I soo much I can't do it justice with a review. read more

Absolute worst Hertz location in the united states. This is apparently not a corporate location, but something called a "licensee" location. Not only are their prices REDICULOUS, but they do not participate in any of the corporate Hertz loyalty rewards programs. I have enough points to rent a car for a month, but no dice at this location. What a rip off. I'll never rent from this location, and maybe not from hertz again after this latest fiasco. read more

Great Hertz Location. However not as speedy as some hertz locations because they do not provide the express gold pickup. Check out is easy and they often give you different options for your reserved vehicle. Vehicles are usually that model year with under 15,000 miles. Staff are fast and friendly and the airport is SUPER EASY to navigate! read more

Terrible service! We rented a car on business trip and forgot our portable navigation system in the car. I called up and asked to mail it to our office. The lady (I believe she is a manager)on the phone explained they need to charge us for shipping. Understood. I gave her a credit card number, shipping address and phone number, was told "will send it via UPS tomorrow". We waited waited...... and nothing. And I called again, the person I believed to be the same lady spoke to me very rudely and said " We are missing your street address and... what is your credit card number?" . Ok... first of all, why didn't she bother calling me and asking me that??? second of all, "sorry" never came out of her mouth. What if I didn't call up today? You guys will keep our navigation system forever? I told them WE NEED IT BACK. I see they care less. Third of all, she is the one who told me she had our corporate address in her system So I didn't have to provide it. Our company uses Hartz all the time, we all hold gold membership and they treat us like this. They should learn "Customer Service" read more
