I've been coming to Chocolate World for years and I feel like it's an essential part of a day at Hersheypark! You can spend the whole day here doing all of the interactive activities and shows. Honestly, I think they're pretty overpriced and you would be better off spending your time at the Hershey Story museum downtown. However, I think it's a must do if you visit the park. You can go on the free ride about how chocolate is made- and then you get a free sample at the end! They have food options but I think they're pretty overpriced. I would only go if you're on a bus trip and don't have any other options. The gift shop is massive and has different merchandise than the park. They also have deals on certain chocolate items and sometimes have new products as well. The check out lines can get long but move very quickly. There is also a self checkout line than can be hard to find but is very quick. You have to stop by if you're visiting Hersheypark- don't miss it! read more

Best experience ever! Can you believe this was my first time here and it won't be my last. Loved all the Hershey experiences. You get candy treats with every one of the experiences. Loved the gift shop. I like you can pick out your favorites and buy them in mini sizes. So much delicious candy to explore. Make sure to get on the free ride and they Take your picture. We purchased the key chain. Parking is free. I am glad I finally had a chance to experience this and would not hesitate to return. Just keep in mind if you're traveling in the warm weather. Americans consume more chocolate than any other country in the world approaching a gut busting 390,000 tons per year and nowhere is that more evident than Hershey's chocolate shop in Hershey Pennsylvania. What's far less apparent here is that Hershey continually skirts the line on how much cocoa has to be present to be considered actual chocolate -- the FDA minimum is 10 percent while the average Hershey bar clocks in at 11 percent. In fact, Hershey's has the licence to produce Cadbury chocolate in the US keeping cocoa at 11 percent, while the original version still produced in the UK is 40 percent. Enough of a difference to cause Hershey to sue UK Cadbury to keep their original version out of America (Hershey won.) Nobody doesn't like a Hershey bar every once in awhile but it's nice to know this iconic brand is committed to the bare minimum on quality. Two lazy stars. FYI... We visited Hershey's Chocolate World on a Saturday around 4 PM and were pleasantly surprised to hop right on the Chocolate Tour ride with almost no wait. It's cute and worth doing, but I wouldn't wait more than 10-15 minutes for it. The real highlight? So much chocolate and fun merchandise. Prices were pretty reasonable, and we loved finding some unique and seasonal treats. Somehow, grabbing a mix of favorites and new goodies still only ran us about $30. We also tried the Reese's Oreo Club Parfait... and honestly, it didn't live up to the hype. Kind of underwhelming and lacking flavor - my homemade yogurt bowls with peanut butter protein powder are better (and that's saying something). They do offer non-dessert food like pizza, baked potatoes, and soft pretzels, which is nice if you need a break from sugar overload. We considered doing the "stuff your own Reese's," but the amount of peanut butter looked almost excessive - and that's coming from a true PB lover. So lets state the obvious, everything here is delicious....I got a Reese's Oreo Milkshake and Cherry Parfait with Twizzlers. The milkshake was out of this world! The Cherry Parfait was okay...I don't know if I would ever get another one. No the negatives. Hershey is insanely overpriced. Looking at the cost of all the attractions in chocolate (besides the free ride of course) will have you putting a decent amount on your credit card for a family of four. I went during the week so the crowds were not bad. But weekend crowds or summer crowds here get very bad. Parking is free for the first 3 hours I believe, but after that...a HEFTY parking fee is charged. The visuals throughout Hershey are out of this world. I was concerned that we were going to burn $100 on some tours, but we learned that they offer a free tour. After making a few selections in the gift shop, we queued up and were finally boarded in a car for the tour. A few steps here and I'm not sure how they do it for handicapped folks. The tour was a fun and whimsical journey that shows the chocolate manufacturing process as it starts from tropical cocoa bean to become a wrapped candy bar. On the cart, we glided past animated scenes of chocolate-making, we were shown how cocoa gets roasted, and we watched how candies are formed and wrapped on conveyor belts. At the end, a free Hersheys (mini) chocolate bar! The gift shop is a Walmart sized candy store with Hershey-labeled clothing and buckets of candy and unique items that are only available here. You could very easily fill a shopping cart with sugared treats. Mrs. K. and I managed to escape with just a few items, thank goodness. Overall, I'm glad we learned that the motorized ride is free and the parking was free and we did pick up some interesting gifts. We still come here every time we bring the family to Hershey. The tour is always a hit and the new(ish) make your own chocolate bar experience is a neat thing to do. We have not done the mini shows yet or the trolley tour but i am sure we will eventually. I think Hershey also stepped up the food game in this location, although if you want something more substantial the Chocolatier is right nearby. I think I found my new favorite place: Hershey's Chocolate World. From the free 'ride' to the Hershey kiss street lamp to the organization of all the goodies, I was so pleasantly surprised worth how well everything was done here. I am a HUGE chocolate lover, especially Reese's. So, when I saw that you could make your own Reese's cup, I jumped in line. You get to stuff a massive cup with peanut butter and three toppings. There were chips and chocolate and marshmallows and so much more. You even got to add in syrups. This was the best thing I've ever done! The free ride was amazing. It was a good 5 minutes, and it really told the story of the chocolate and the whole start to finish process. The ride was very clean and accessible. At the end, you get a mini hersheys bar, and this was the best chocolate I've ever had. They chocolate here is different! The store was overwhelming but very well organized. You can easily find what you were looking for. Each big 'brand' had there own section: Kit Kat, Reese's, Hersheys. Most of the things I saw can't be bought in store, so this was really cool. They even had vegan chocolate options, which were delicious. Checkout wasn't a mess either, it was very organized. They even had restaurants in here! Highly recommend hitting up Hershey's Chocolate World when visiting...Hershey. Seems like an obvious statement but I really do think they put on a good show for visitors. We opted to do the Hershey Express Train Ride (high recommend), the Make Your Own Candy Bar (highest recommend), and the free factory tour (not bad but glad I didn't pay for it) Just walking around this place and checking out all of the unique candy flavors and swag you can purchase for your favorite sweets is well worth it. We grabbed some adult beverages in the food court (try the Jolly Rancher frozen drink) and some of their food (pretzel with chocolate dipping sauce!) and enjoyed the ambiance and hustle and bustle of the place while we ate. The employees are full of energy and enthusiasm which totally makes the experience great. This experience is great for the whole family. The Hershey's complex is huge, and amazing. There's an amusement park, a waterpark, an animal park, and there is also Hershey Park Arena, a stadium, and the Hershey resort hotel that has been open since the early 30s. Hershey's also has a campground/RV park. There is a separate Hershey museum out in town, that covers the history and legacy of Milton Hershey. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to see the museum. A ticket that gets you into all three parks. Is $84.95. If you walk up to the front gate, less for seniors, military/veterans, or juniors, or if you buy your ticket online. With this ticket, you also get into any of the parks for free the last two hours before closing the night before, to give you a preview. At the center of everything, is Hershey's chocolate world. Parking for the chocolate world is free for the first three hours, which is a very good amount of time. . If you do one of the paid activities at chocolate world, your parking stays free it was fantastic lots of things to do, and of course, lots of things to buy. It is chocolate heaven. They have a huge selection of bulk chocolate, for sale at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, they don't do factory tours, just because of the large amount. Of visitors. There is a free "chocolate ride", that is a virtual factory tour. The other four activities are paid activities. The prices are a bit on the higher end, but they do offer tickets at a discount for a multiple activities. The activities are the same price for all ages, but they do offer a discount for military/veterans. I only did. The Hershey's trolley works, which is a tour of the town of Hershey, talking about the history of Hershey's, as well as the history of the town. It's a fantastic tour (see my separate review.). Hershey's chocolate world is about an hour and a half drive for me and my family, and we will come randomly on an afternoon just to ride the chocolate world ride, grab a chocolate bar, and head home. During some of our darkest days it has been the light we needed for cheering up, and during our best times, it was the happiness we shared while there. Don't miss this adorable stop right before the entrance to Hersheypark. it's a must visit! There are a few paid experiences available, but we opted for the free Hershey's chocolate tour ride, and it did not disappoint. It felt like a mini Disney ride, super cute, with lots of fun props and smooth, moving cars. The storytelling about how Hershey chocolate is made was both entertaining and informative. There were 11 of us, ranging in age from 9 to 61. Free parking for up to 3 hours was definitely appreciated. The free ride, including a mini chocolate bar at the end, was fun. Our main attraction was the Make Your Own Chocolate bar. A bit on the expensive side but the kids thought it was amazing, so it was worth it in the end. Pick your base chocolate: milk, white or dark and up to 4 "mix ins" from pretzels to chocolate chips and/or even sprinkles. The kids loved watching their bar flow along the conveyor belt. Had high expectations that weren't met. It's ok, I personally don't want to come back again but my kiddo loved it despite the hiccups in the experience. It's inside a large building which is great for the winter when it's so cold outside. However, it was super crowded. I bought a holiday package that came with 4 different activities in addition to the free chocolate factory tour. -No one really enjoyed Unwrapped, it felt so fakely enthusiastic and the jokes were not funny. My kid was not amused, she only wanted the chocolate box. After moving into the 2nd room, something was wrong with the audio we couldn't hear the lady clearly but we didn't care. -Holly Jolly trolley was ok. Kid had never been in a trolley before so she liked the ride and the visit from Santa. We did the trolley at night and I would not recommend that. The trolley goes around town and couldn't see much in the dark. It can't be helped that there was just so much enthusiasm from the guide about how great Hershey the founder is. Maybe he is a great guy but felt like brainwashing. -Create your own chocolate bar would have been a great activity except that something was wrong with one of the machines at the packaging station so the line kept getting stopped. I think this should have taken less than 30 minutes but with all the repairs the line barely moved and it took more than 2 hours from first getting into line and finally getting out. We wanted to just quit many times but kiddo really wanted her chocolate bar. We were lucky that we only paid maybe $10 for this event because the holiday package was a good deal, I can imagine someone who paid full price ($35) would be furious. --Hershey's great chocolate expedition, we actually missed this activity completely because the previous event ran over time by so much. I think could have been able to change the time at ticket counter but after waiting in line for 2 hours for Create your own Chocolate Bar we just wanted to get out of Hershey World. read more

Chocolate world which I would'be mixed up with the museum , has the bigger venue and store and the free ride. Sadly the ride no longer shows the live chocolate making because it cannot handle the million crowd. I think World made a good move on this but it makes me less interested to do the ride except I was with friends that wanted me to go with them to the ride. When I researched the website, I was going to do the tasting and the chocolate lab but it seems I could not book individually in advance based on my research and they were both booked when we arrived at the museum first. The museum and chocolate world being different from each other wasn't obvious to me from the website . Maybe I looked wrong or maybe not as apparently others have made this mistake. My dreams of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" came true! It was my first time in Hershey and Hershey's Chocolate World. The city smells like chocolate! The town is so clean and feels like a magical getaway. I was here for work but had an evening to explore before making it to Chocolate World. Chocolate World does not require admission, so if you're in town and want to explore a little bit of Hershey history, check this place out! We had a very fun day at Hershey World! We did all 4 of the paid experiences as well as the free tour. I would HIGHLY recommend if you don't have children with you to SKIP the tasting & the movie. Both are highly geared towards children and I wish we would have been warned. Even with children I wouldn't recommend those two, but definitely not without them. The tasting was probably the worst one. You get a tin of snack sized chocolates (plain Hershey, rolo, dark Hershey, cookies and cream, and I think some other basic one) And idk, it just wasn't good, the show they put on for it is for kids. But the trolley was AMAZING, the host was just awesome and you got the story and history of Milton Hershey and it's quite remarkable. The create your own chocolate bar was fun too! Hershey's Chocolate World was all but a given place to check out during our time in Hershey. Since we were in the area for a short amount of time and the park itself was closed, we wanted to soak in as much of the other attractions as we could. That being said, after checking out a nearby museum we took the short drive over here to check it out. HCW strategically located close to other attractions on the grounds of Hersheypark. As such, there's plenty of parking and likely because we were there in the offseason we found a spot super close to entrance. From what I can gather, HCW is several different things in one - a ride, a factory tour, an interactive space where you can make your own sweets, and of course a retailer where they sell Hershey products. The space was large upon entry, and even though it was buzzing I could only imagine how much busier it gets during peak season. Anyway, our time was limited so we didn't get a chance to do many of the attractions, but of course we wanted to check out the merch. So many Hershey products in a variety of sizes - including some confections that were only available here. I ended up getting a few of my favorite candies, as well as some souvenirs. Overall, Hershey's Chocolate World was a fun way to spend some time. The kids will love it here, but there's enough to keep adults entertained too; we barely scratched the surface here but I imagine you can spend a good chunk of time taking in all it has to offer. It's definitely worth a stop in during your Hershey explorations. read more

A very large Hershey's store with a bunch of exclusive merchandise, but I do wish they had the old timey wrapped Hershey Bars we had seen in the Hershey Story Museum gift shop but held off on purchasing because we figured they'd have them here (labelled from Chocolatetown USA). Lots of variety and countless hours you could spend there - and plenty of treats as well from milkshakes to Jolly Rancher inspired refresher beverages. We visited during the off-season and weren't interested in Hershey Park, but we were excited to check out the Chocolate Tour. If you're hoping to learn in-depth history, this isn't the place, but they do offer a free ride that gives a quick overview of how Hershey got started. There's plenty of parking, and if you're also visiting the park, I'd recommend getting the ticket bundle for the best deal. I paid extra to create my own Reese's Cup, and it turned out gigantic! I think the price was $22 with tax... The store is packed with souvenirs and exclusive chocolate varieties you won't find in regular grocery stores. I don't think anyone walked out empty-handed! There are four different restaurants, plus a few dessert spots, with plenty of seating in the food court. Chocolate World is a fun place to visit at Hershey Park. There's lots of activities. You can purchase individual tickets or bundles. We did the Chocolate Tour and The Hershey Great Candy Expedition. The Chocolate Tour was a cute ride that takes you through the process of making chocolate. It's free and the lines move fast. The Great Candy Expedition requires a ticket (it was $20). It's interactive and is sort of a choose your adventure type of activity. The candy store and gift shop are huge! They have so many chocolate candy and confections and they come in massive sizes (we're talking 1 lb. Hershey Bars). They have unique flavors like Churro Kit Kats and Chocolate Hazelnut Hershey Bars. I also purchased a Whozeewhatzit which I've never heard of. It was good, but I think I like the Whatchamacallit more. I bought so many candy bars that it took me a month to eat all of them. We didn't get a chance to explore some of the other activities like making your own candy bar. There's so much to see at Chocolate World, and one can easily spend an entire day exploring. read more
