The parking spots are perpendicular to the road and they back out directly onto 422. The two times I have been there I was promptly greeted and welcomed by Earl, one of the chocolatiers here. He is incredibly personable, easy to talk to, and clearly loves his job and his customers. Inside the shop, there is a foyer and two small rooms filled with different chocolate and brittle related treats all over the place. There is a counter of fancy chocolates to order from as well. Earl helped me look for what I wanted and when they didn't have it, he made a note to himself to make more to ensure that it was available for the next customer. The prices were very reasonable in my opinion for a small place with good quality chocolate and treats. Much higher quality than Hershey's or any other mass produced chocolate you can buy. Apparently their secret is mixing four types of different chocolate together to make one super chocolate (Earl told me, I hope it's ok that I shared it with you all!) I highly recommend stopping in here if you are visiting Hershey, you will actually get much better chocolate than the world famous Hershey's. And for all you local folks, don't forget to stop by occasionally and support a wonderful small business in your community.

I immediately corrected that mistake by buying a ticket the moment I saw the event posted--and then started counting down the days. The concept alone sold me: a ticketed, adults-focused stroll through downtown Carlisle, with participating small businesses offering tastings, experiences, treats, and deals. Sweethearts of all kinds were welcome--couples, besties, gal pals--and dressing in red and pink for Valentine's vibes was strongly encouraged. Say less. Ticketing was super easy, and Georgie Lou's did a fantastic job with pre-event communication, especially via social media. One post in particular deserves a shout-out: a reminder to bring a bag to carry your treats. This is something I absolutely would not have thought about until I was awkwardly shoving sweet treats into my coat pockets. I came prepared with a small reusable shopping bag (pink, obviously), and by the end of the stroll it was completely full of sweets, trinkets, and purchases. Meanwhile, others were struggling with overflowing pockets alongside gloves, hats, maps, and life regrets. Lesson learned. Excellent advice! I found parking around 1pm and headed to Georgie Lou's to check in and grab my materials. The staff were incredibly friendly, checked my name off the list, and sent me on my way with a Map of Hearts, a button identifying me as an official 2026 Sweetheart Stroller, and a small sweet treat to kick things off. I also took some time to explore the shop itself--my first visit--and wow! They have managed to pack an impressive amount of nostalgic goodness into a small space. Total blasts from the past, plus candies I'd never seen before. Super fun shop! From there, the stroll itself was a delight. Georgie Lou's clearly put a lot of care into coordinating participating businesses, and it showed. Most spots offered sweet treats, discounts, or special offerings, but every single business was warm, welcoming, and happy to have folks stopping in. Even though I've done a few downtown Carlisle walk-style events before, I still discovered shops I'd never been in--and every purchase I made that day was from a place I was visiting for the first time. That alone feels like a win. Overall, this was a fantastic way to spend a few hours on a very chilly January Saturday. It got me out of the house, walking downtown, supporting local businesses, and discovering gems I usually zoom past while driving from Point A to Point B. I had such a great time that I jokingly asked if I could pre-register for next year... apparently that's "not a thing yet." Fine. They were organized by time period and some interesting information was posted nearby and/or on the individual item. There were also gift sets. Some of the items were quite dusty and seemed as if they had been there for some time. A lot of the items were things that can be purchased in Cracker Barrel or in other old-timey candy stores elsewhere. They offer modern candy as well, but overall, I was underwhelmed. I was quite surprised to see historic candies so full of artificial dyes. That was an eye opener. I was kind of surprised at the signage throughout the store. The signs seemed basic when considered all the endorsements that the store has. Maybe the signs were made to look less modern. I didn't end up purchasing anything but was glad to visit.

(I tried a mango one myself which was beautifully painted and bursting with flavor; my husband loved his peruvian dark chocolate one). When I stopped by, the owner graciously walked me through the store, explaining the different chocolate options (they also have ice cream and macaroons). The interior was immaculate and they actively make chocolate in the back! He also mentioned on Saturday mornings (just the one day of the week) he bakes fresh pastries -- so of course I had to come back. Let me tell you, THE PASTRIES ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Don't be deceived by the name -- Frederic Loraschi doesn't just do chocolate (although those are incredible) -- the butter croissant was the best croissant I've ever had, period. Truly impressive for Harrisburg!!! You'd think you stepped into a bakery in France. I also loved the little tomato pie with herbs -- the goat cheese flavor was also perfect. I would highly highly recommend these! They sell out quick (we went around 9-9:30am and almost all of the croissants had gone -- the chocolate and ham/cheese croissants already were sold out, as were many of the other pastries in the case). First, I thought it was a great idea to have a food truck on a weekend morning, because you can tap into a different group of patrons than on a Friday night. Service was spot on with each type of croissant and food item was explained (with pride) to me while trying to choose. On this visit we sampled the ham and cheese croissant, the apple croissant, and the savory bread pudding. Everything was delicious! The croissants were some of the best ones my wife and I have eaten. So much so we contemplated walking back to the truck for seconds. If you see their food truck stop and you will not be disappointed! We are looking forward to visiting the shop and trying some of their specialty chocolates!
