So I have no problem with giving 5 stars, but I do think there are a few spots that could have used…read morebetter attention to detail, as noted in a couple of the photos provided. The crew was here almost two weeks. I thought it crazy that the company didn't provide them a port-a-jon. We had some other work done that took the same amount of time and that company made sure their crew had a place to use the bathroom. I certainly would not expect my crew to have to ask the homeowner. As for the work, good stuff, the crew were very professional. The company's "front office" were attentive when I asked for things, the only oddity is I never got an invoice after payment, nor the link they said I'd get to provide feedback. Like they went out of business or something. At any rate, I'd recommend this company, and would hire them again if I needed any work done. One note of recommendation, the wall lights used were $200 a piece and are fixed. Volt Lighting out of Florida has wall lights for $60 that can be adjusted to bathe the area where the $200 ones point straight down, limiting their ability to bathe the area broader. That is one change I would have made in hindsight.

Oak Valley prepared the site to install our whole house generator. The work was performed beyond my…read moreexpectations. I was surprised about two things in particular. 1). The work area was super clean when they finished. You would think the hardscape had been there for years. 2). The work crew used a wheel barrow instead of the tracked bucket loader they had on site. As a result, there was NO damage to the existing sod or yard. That caused them a LOT of extra effort and was VERY appreciated. Photos are with no generator were taken within hours of Oak Valley completing work. Notice how clean they left the work area.

I think Commonwealth Landcare has the potential to grow into a great business. The pictures that…read moreI've seen via their website and FB page are beautiful...the experience that I had was, as the Yelp stars indicate, "meh". Full disclosure: I purchased a LivingSocial deal for 1 hour of lawn care at $60. Combined, our front, side, and back lawn equal less than a quarter acre of land. We scheduled an appointment (during which the owner explained that the LivingSocial deal was meant to "drum-up business" and only included mowing, edging, leaf blowing, etc.) and three men came to our house to do the work on an early spring day. I thought it would be a nice treat for a little post-winter season yard work. I had no expectations of anything beyond the terms of the LivingSocial deal. The team was punctual, very friendly, and seemed to work well together. I was a bit disappointed, however, in the work. They asked us what we'd like to see done; my husband explained that both the front and back yard (.15 acre total) should be mowed and edges trimmed. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I knew our back yard might have needed to be cut on the long side for the first cut of the season, but it actually looked as if very little was done at all. The front yard was not touched. The work was completed in 20 minutes. For $60, this seems a bit steep. I do understand that the LivingSocial deal was meant to drum-up business, as the owner stated, and that these types of deals can overrun businesses with new customers...but when I conveyed these concerns to the owner in a follow-up email, this was one of the responses I received: "Stopped by your house. I guess you all thought the living social deal was more than a grass cutting, weed eating and blowing. There is a lot of plant maintenance work to be done. I can give you an estimate to complete the work, but that was not included. Also, I know they only spent 20 min at your house, but in a means of labor hours that equals 1 hour. Let me know if you all will need additional help." I thanked him for his diligence in following-up with my concerns, but didn't appreciate the attitude--which I read as attitude--in his email. Unfortunately, the grass cutting didn't happen in the front yard and weeds weren't destroyed in the back yard. With some more experience and time, I can see CW Landcare going places. My recommendation? Enjoy the sunshine and get some exercise by doing your own lawn care.

I want to update my review concerning Smallwood Renovation, Keith the owner of Smallwood Renovation…read morecalled me yesterday after viewing my concerns about his lack of response on Yelp. Keith could not have been nicer and was very apologetic with their delayed response to a few issues we had concerning the deck they had built for us. He immediately requested that a crew would be out this morning to address everything and the crew showed up and corrected everything and then some. Sometimes customer service is lacking in this country right now, but not with Smallwood Renovation if it isn't right they will do everything in their power to make it right. Thank you Keith and the crew at Smallwood Renovation!

I chose this company based on their online reviews, but after my experience, I seriously question…read morehow accurate those reviews are. From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted 100% communication and no misunderstandings. The salesperson assured me the entire project (windows, gutters, shutters, etc.) would take about 2-3 months. I was aware I was paying above average, but I trusted their reputation. That turned out to be a mistake. The problems started right away. I assumed measurements were taken during the initial visit, but they weren't. I had to take time off work for another appointment, and the person they sent was in and out in about 20 minutes. After that, communication completely broke down. I had to repeatedly call just to get updates. Months went by with no clear timeline for installation. Every time I spoke to someone, I got a different answer. The office staff seemed completely disorganized, and emails were confusing or contradicted each other. Eventually, I spoke with managers, and even they admitted there were mistakes and miscommunication. But nothing was actually resolved. When installation finally happened, it was poorly handled. They sent only one person to install gutters, which was inefficient and unprofessional. To make matters worse, they somehow retained my payment information and charged me without my authorization, which is extremely concerning. At one point, a manager apologized but then started mentioning that if I canceled, I could be legally responsible. That is when I completely lost confidence. It felt more like a threat than an attempt to resolve the situation--especially considering they had not fulfilled their obligations despite receiving a large deposit. They later came out to take pictures and "check" the work, but it felt like they were trying to protect themselves rather than fix the issues. I have lost an unbelievable amount of time dealing with this--taking off work, making calls, and sending emails. To this day, I still have an issue with one of the windows. I reached out again and received a response that made no sense, and I still have no real answer. Also, their "lifetime warranty" is not even through them--it's through a third party, which was never clearly explained upfront. Overall, this has been an exhausting and frustrating experience. I strongly recommend being very cautious before choosing this company and considering other options. Look for the response towards any complaints they're completely generic. They don't even give at least any kind of explanation as to why of things occurred. I would take my business elsewhere. You're gonna get robbed. They're charge you an astronomical price for something that anybody else could've done much cheaper.

The reason for my 2-star review is because when all was said and done they left a hole in our roof. Mr. Sousa came back and looked at it and one of his workers swore up and down that nothing fell on our roof. I basically said to him "Before you showed up, no hole. After you're done, hole."
