After trying their ground beef on previous trips, we ordered their #1 meat special (see photo) which includes 100 pounds of various cuts of regionally sourced beef. The order was ready for pickup about a week and frozen solid as requested as my freezers would not be able to handle such a task! I was a little disappointed to see the packing done in butcher paper, scrawled with handwritten labeling- as this takes up more freezer space (a commodity at our home) and makes it harder to discern which packages you want to select to defrost, lacking a labeled weight as a plastic, vacuum packed type setup other places use for bulk. I feel this packaging is more prone to freezer burn- though hopefully we eat through it quick enough do it id not a concern for us. It's probably a matter of preference, so I did not take off a star for it- though customers should be aware that it is how the meat is prepared. Pickup was easy and they helped load it into my vehicle in 2 large cardboard boxes from their rear loading ramp. The pricing is competitive and so far the meat quality from Herrell's has been very good.

While the young man started filling my order (which was his first day, and he was very polite. "Yes sir, no sir polite) I asked him if my 2 sides were proportional to the size order I was purchasing. He stated that you get 2 1lb container per side, no matter what size chicken package you purchase. So I be an to explain that it wasn't fair that you got the same size sides for a 4 piece package or a 16 piece package. He asked another employ who stated to me that that was the policy, and if I wanted, I could use my 2 sides for the same item. I stated that I wasn't really getting two sides, just one, in two containers. So I'm hoping that anyone reading this, can understand what I was trying to get across to them. If you are advertising 2 sides, you should get two different sides, proportionate to the size package you are buying. I know this should not be a big deal, but they didn't accommodate me with my concern. This is not the way you take care of your customers, but I guess they really don't care to keeping customers. Had they helped me out, this review would have been more favorable.

The location is right off the Imperial Main St. exit and I've found it is the easiest station to enter. The interior is aged but cleanly, its organized. It ain't no QT, but it works for me as far as convenience off the HWY exit toward my office. The friendly service is what will keep me coming back here too, unless the cardinals score 6 runs then I will make the effort to cross the street median to get that 50 cent drink.

I'm normally good at…read morechecking labels, but it's sad that I have to sift through every single product to find food that isn't expired. -Deli is atrocious, catch them before they pre-close around 4pm and pre-cleaned their slicer) -Meat. I can manage without produce bags, but you absolutely need bags for dripping, raw meat. (Carry hand-sanitizer, I informed the checkout employee there's raw meat on the scanner due to no meat bags- they did nothing- so not much you can do about the people checking out before you if they've left raw food) --I no longer buy meat here. All of this without getting into the scale/weights of their meat consistently being off when I did. -Produce. You'll be able to find decent produce, however, there will always be a few veggies/fruits on your list you opt to get somewhere else (bruised, way-past rotten, the "sale" lettuce and produce needs to be on sale a week prior) These leaky, rotten products will usually be placed front and center too. I know this goes with anywhere that towers their produce in a pyramid, but maybe take out those first few rows of fruit that have clearly been bouncing off onto the floor all day. Avoid the plastic wrapped produce in the foam trays you can't see the back of-- almost always rotten, mushy on the back & intentionally hidden so they don't have to mark it as sale. -It looks like they've spent a lot of money upgrading the security system connected to their carts, but forgot to upgrade the actual carts themselves. It seems like every other time I visit, some old lady is locked in the doorway, cart jammed, theft siren blaring, all because it's clearly malfunctioning (hey, as long as those thieving old women aren't running off with their heavy cart full of cat litter right?) All around just not a good look. -Parking. This place had the audacity to repave their parking lot without increasing the size of the lanes, so it's just as chaotic, compact, and unpleasant as usual. As I was leaving, a woman was almost hit by a car backing out near the cart return! Just get rid of the pregnancy/veteran spots-turn them into handicap (injured veterans and pregnant women can, and often do, get a handicap tag if needed) This would increase the amount of accessible spots without the weird "This spot is unofficially for a particular KIND of disabled person!" message. It's tacky. Like a fake service dog for parking spots. I really can't recommend other places in the area, I'm sure that's how they've been able to stay afloat. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the Super Target rumors are true, at the least, it may incentivize management to return their attention to this location.
