Nice store. So much quieter than the one on Richardson. Pleasant employees, for the most part.

I wish I had taken more photos because we were walking around oohing and aahing and saying, "Wow, look at this!" and "Look at that!" so much that we were already getting enough looks from people. This was easily one of the nicest grocery stores we've ever been in. The selection was incredible, and everything looked so fresh and appetizing. Coming from California, there were so many options we just don't have available to us back home. I was especially impressed by the huge selection of premade and pre-prepped meals. As someone who doesn't really cook, I kept thinking that if I lived in this area, I could probably eat a lot healthier simply because there were so many fresh, convenient options ready to grab and go. I also loved seeing so many individual-sized meals, which would be perfect for anyone shopping or cooking for just one person. And the prices! We obviously expected things to be less expensive than California, but we were still surprised by how reasonably priced everything seemed. It was genuinely hard not to buy one of everything. We're staying at a hotel that provides breakfast and dinner, so we showed some restraint and mostly picked up snacks, drinks, and water for our room. We did, however, venture into the dessert section, which was absolutely mouthwatering, and bought one of their gooey butter desserts. Good grief. PURE SUGAR. It may legitimately be one of the sweetest desserts we have ever eaten. This is something you need to eat in a fudge-sized portion, but ours came in what felt like a bread-sized paper tin, and they sell even bigger ones! I cannot imagine eating that much at once. Definitely a dessert to share...with several people. We also tried a Zevia cream soda and really liked it. We specifically chose it because of its ingredients and my husband's dietary restrictions, so finding a drink he could have that also tasted good was a nice surprise. We liked it enough that we'll be looking for more. If we were staying in the area longer, I absolutely would have gone back to try some of the prepared meals. Great selection, beautiful store, reasonable prices, and an impressive amount of fresh and convenient food options. We went in just to look around and left wishing we had a Dierbergs back home.

Many of the things I purchased expired 2+ months ago, so I'll begin there. I'm normally good at…read morechecking labels, but it's sad that I have to sift through every single product to find food that isn't expired. -Deli is atrocious, catch them before they pre-close around 4pm and pre-cleaned their slicer) -Meat. I can manage without produce bags, but you absolutely need bags for dripping, raw meat. (Carry hand-sanitizer, I informed the checkout employee there's raw meat on the scanner due to no meat bags- they did nothing- so not much you can do about the people checking out before you if they've left raw food) --I no longer buy meat here. All of this without getting into the scale/weights of their meat consistently being off when I did. -Produce. You'll be able to find decent produce, however, there will always be a few veggies/fruits on your list you opt to get somewhere else (bruised, way-past rotten, the "sale" lettuce and produce needs to be on sale a week prior) These leaky, rotten products will usually be placed front and center too. I know this goes with anywhere that towers their produce in a pyramid, but maybe take out those first few rows of fruit that have clearly been bouncing off onto the floor all day. Avoid the plastic wrapped produce in the foam trays you can't see the back of-- almost always rotten, mushy on the back & intentionally hidden so they don't have to mark it as sale. -It looks like they've spent a lot of money upgrading the security system connected to their carts, but forgot to upgrade the actual carts themselves. It seems like every other time I visit, some old lady is locked in the doorway, cart jammed, theft siren blaring, all because it's clearly malfunctioning (hey, as long as those thieving old women aren't running off with their heavy cart full of cat litter right?) All around just not a good look. -Parking. This place had the audacity to repave their parking lot without increasing the size of the lanes, so it's just as chaotic, compact, and unpleasant as usual. As I was leaving, a woman was almost hit by a car backing out near the cart return! Just get rid of the pregnancy/veteran spots-turn them into handicap (injured veterans and pregnant women can, and often do, get a handicap tag if needed) This would increase the amount of accessible spots without the weird "This spot is unofficially for a particular KIND of disabled person!" message. It's tacky. Like a fake service dog for parking spots. I really can't recommend other places in the area, I'm sure that's how they've been able to stay afloat. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the Super Target rumors are true, at the least, it may incentivize management to return their attention to this location.

The last 7 years we have started buying our produce at Whole Foods diets to the fact their produce is much much better than Dierbergs and for the same cost. Today I called and asked about ground veal. Spoke with the meat department and had them set aside the last 3 packages. My husband went to the store half an hour later to pick up the veal. No one knew what was going on, other than to tell him the meat person we spoke to was on lunch and he would have to wait half an hour for him to come back. Hubby had a manager get involved, who was a. Self stated "grocery guy" that was acting manager. We spoke and I pointed out the ridiculous situation . He eventually found the ground veal. Does no one have any pride anymore? My question for Dierbergs corporate "how many bad reviews will you tolerate, and lost business before someone takes notice"? Dierbergs has gotten so expensive and the quality so poor, you are better off going to Aldi and Whole Foods for your groceries. Thank you to the "grocery guy" who helped out. To Dierbergs: you should be ashamed of the prices you have for the poor quality you provide.

A woman was stocking shelves and I asked where the items I was looking for where and bless that woman for leading me around to show me where all the items I was looking for were. She showed me the petroleum jelly in various sizes and how the biggest one was the least expensive but I needed a smaller size since I was traveling. She made my experience quick and less stressful since they were announcing the time and when the store closed. The cash wrap was not busy, the person helping us was nice and we even got a free bag (bags cost money where we live) so I got a good chuckle out of that, as did the cashier. I would come to this store again if in the area as it was clean, well stocked, well organized and had friendly people willing to help an overstimulated, tired mom.

In the middle is a vision store, bathrooms for him and her, a bank, and a Subway, all opposite the registers. The store seemed well stocked. I only came to return something, though. There wasn't much of a line at Customer Service, but there were 4 people milling about behind the counter, but only one person helping customers. The return was fairly simple, as I had a receipt, and I didn't have to provide any id. I am not a lover of WalMart, as I dont think their prices are much cheaper than anywhere else, and there always seems to be so many people around. That said, sometimes I go just to see if they have any deals I cant be without.
