Love this place but the beers are so overpriced that I doubt that we'll ever go there again. $6.50 for a Stella draft. Really?

There are much better places for happy hour than here. $1 off drafts that are normally priced at $6? Not so great. Also, we ordered the chicken strips that were supposed to be a happy hour special of $5 but were told when the bill came it was actually "buffalo" chicken strips on sale. Regular ones were $8. It does have a nice selection of draft beers but there are equivalent places in town that don't charge as much. read more

Heroes has a large draft beer selection with a few good picks that include Sierra Nevada, Flying Dog, and Heavy Seas. The bar is clean, the food is greasy but filling, and the service is friendly - if usually busy. Trivia on Thursday is pretty much the only time I head over. The difficulty really seems to fluctuate but it is always a good time. read more

I call this my "neighborhood bar" when I really live about 25 minutes away. The atmosphere is great and low key. A lot of true locals unlike myself. Great beer selection. Food can be a hit and miss. I'll never forget the "big juicy wings" that was promised to me by my bartender but when I got them, they were skinny and needed some milk, haha. Come here often for the wings- which are so good. We always get the old bay rub. Lots of choices of beer on tap. Everything we have tried off the menu has been great! Prices are affordable. Place is Always busy when we come, and the service is very fast. read more

Large draft beer selection. Hometown dive. Lots of locals but anyone welcomed if you can find it tucked away in a residential neighborhood. They've recently lowered their beer prices for Happy Hour so you can get a great beer for under $4. I find their wings to be some of the best. I've always enjoyed sandwiches there such as a turkey reuben and burgers. Had an entree there, however, that had disgusting instant cold mash potatoes with gravy from a can. Mozarella sticks are tasteless. Good for happy hour and lunch. read more

Great bar with typical pub grub. We had a burger and a chicken cheesesteak. The service was great and the food came out super hot right off the grill. Food was delicious too, for bar food of course. read more

This is a classic neighborhood pub. The service is great and it's personal. Even if we don't come in for months we are still greeted warmly and they remember our favorite beers. The food is a cut above average pub food, and the beer selection is fantastic. Try the fish tacos or some of their soups and stews. read more

Would have been 5 stars but they do NOT have a military discount. Normally that would not be a big deal but the Bar/Restaurant honors Heroe's - Firefighters & Police. Both occupations are heroes in my book and deserve a discount, but not to also offer this to military in a military town (Annapolis home to Naval Academy and thousands of retired military) doesn't sit well with me. There are plenty of other places in Annapolis that recognize the military as heroes. I think I will go to Mission BBQ next time I think of Heroes. read more

The specials are good to excellent. I've had so many different excellent specials at Heroes, that even if it doesn't seem promising, I'll try it and usually it is excellent. Sometimes adding a new dimension to the dish. The regular menu is generally good bar food with a few excellent choices. If you like steamed shrimp, they are so big and prepared so well at Heroes, you may no longer be satisfied elsewhere. They come with Old Bay and steamed onions, but they will skip either or both. Another plus is the side vegetable of the day. Not canned or over cooked and usually steamed. If you like standard beersor craft beer thay have about 50 on draft with some of each. Not much by way of desserts, in fact sometimes no desserts. read more

This is my favorite pub to go to in Annapolis! My girlfriends and I go there for lunch often and love the atmosphere. Their buffalo chicken strips and wings are EXCELLENT! Also fantastic MD style strips and wings! A huge plus for me is the cleanliness of the restaurant...bathrooms included. That is important to me. Service has always been prompt and courteous. I love the theme of the restaurant as well. You will always see "local heroes" there having lunch and meetings. Just a comfortable place to hang out! read more

I just had the worst restaurant experience of my life here at "Heroes". My party had 2 separate tabs and the waitress approached me questioning the 4$ tip on the other tab. I had not yet signed for my tab and began to tell her we loved the restaurant and would be back (I was fully intending to give her a generous tip to compensate for the mistake on the other tab) I touched her shoulder and she told me "don't f**** touch me and don't ever come back." Let me put this in perspective...my husband has a bronze star with V and teaches at the Naval Academy, but we are minorities...I am still not familiar with Maryland but if this is the way they treat their customers, let alone real life heroes-- I am heartbroken!!! We were not roudy, never did I swear or was I disrespectful in any way. read more

Nice bar to relax and watch the game. Lots of good beer on tap and good bar food. The steamed shrimp were great. Huge shrimp and not overcooked, spiced properly as well. Seems like there is always a good special. Trivia night is thurs and they have darts. The service has been very good. It is a great place to get away from the downtown crowd. read more

My favorite bar! We've been coming here for years. First as young 20 something's and closing the place down until 2 AM, now more for lunch or dinner, or a date night. The beer selection is amazing but they have plenty of wines to choose from or mixed drinks if you like those. Of all the restaurants to choose from in Annapolis near the mall, this is usually where we end up. For one, it's tucked away in a residential area away from the crowds. Everyone inside is usually so friendly. For bar food, it's awesome. Sandwiches, salads, whatever you want they have it. I love the buffalo chicken tenders. The beer battered fish sandwich is another favorite. The nachos are also really good. The decor is truly hero inspired with fire fighter and police officer memorabilia. Every time I go in I feel like I see sometime I didn't notice before. The tables and bar are copper top which just adds to the feel of the place. We've taken our kids in there too. It's not overpriced - very reasonable. read more

I have been a local and dedicated patron of Hero's since they opened 20 years ago, but not any longer! My son-in-law is a firefighter and my daughter worked in the ER for 15 + years. The waitress and staff were incredibly rude to put it mildly! We arrived to a semi-full establishment - tables were full but plenty of seating at the bar. I was with my daughter and her friend and seeing no tables open, opted to sit at the bar where there were 3 seats open. After sitting at the bar, I notice a table had opened up so we moved to the table. There wasn't anyone hoovering or seemingly waiting for the table and no line at the door, so we moved to the table. After giving up our seats at the bar and being at the table for several minutes we were told by the waitress that there was a waiting list and we needed to move, This is a bar and there was no hostess or any "list". We were told that we needed to move and then when we questioned this were told that no one would wait on us. Needless to say, we left and I hope that all you true heros that put your life on the line every day will take your business elsewhere. read more

Went into Heroes with my husband late last night. It took our server almost 20 minutes to take our drink order and 30 minutes to take our food order. It was after 10 PM and not terribly busy in there. Service was so slow and our server apparently loved to socialize with a group of men sitting at the bar. The nachos were terrible. Left under a warmer too long. My husband liked the Turkey Cuban sandwich. Side salad was very small for the price. Got the bill and it took the server another 15 minutes to come by and process. This was only after one of the men she was talking with at the bar noticed I was trying to get her attention. Really bad experience. My husband left a generous tip ($25) hoping it may make her a better server. Like the concept, support LE and first responders, etc. Take this place for what it is. Local dive bar supporting a good cause. Blew way too much money for subpar service and food. read more

Heroes is a great little secret in west annapolis. The pub food is delicious and the buffalo strips are by far the best we've ever tasted!! The service is excellent, whether you're on your lunch hour or staying to watch a football or basketball game. SHHHH...the tourists haven't found it yet. read more

It's the local bar you always wished you had. So glad I moved closer to it! It gets kind of busy on weekends, especially on winter but get there early for happy hour, especially weekdays and it's not too crowded. Also have great football food and drink specials! read more
