It's the biggest comic book store I have ever been in by far, and I have been in many; in fact, it's almost like Comic Con minus a million jostling people in cosplay. And pretty much, if they don't have it, it's not out there (well, almost: we found their Godzilla merch to be a bit thin). About half the store is staff only because it's the stacks of back issues of comics, but there's still a ton to see in the part the public can access: toys, games, comics, graphic novels, figurines, collectibles, and so on. I got a Sailor Moon lunch box, and he got a graphic novel. There are buttons everywhere to push if you need aid from staff, and the guy who assisted us in getting something from a case was indeed helpful. Overall, worth a stop!

I've been to comic shops all across the country (I used to travel 2 weeks a month across the US for about 4 years for a job). It's no exaggeration to say that I Want More Comics is one of the best shops I've ever been to. When I purchase brand new books I'm a stickler when it comes to minty freshness. Most comic shops have plastic dividers/bins that are wall mounted or situated on a shelf. These are the worst as people who are looking through them can damage the books by pulling them forward. IWMC does not have this problem whatsoever. The way they display their books is how every shop should. The books are safe. The best part about IWMC isn't the fact that all the books are reasonably priced and that the selection is fantastic (those are also great if you just want a review about prices and stock)--no, the best part of this store is its staff. I am a regular at this shop for a good reason. When I first started going to the shop, I was impressed with the enthusiasm and attention to detail by everyone who works there. I was also impressed with how friendly and accommodating everyone was--they don't make you feel like you're inferior if you ask questions. So while now I feel like I get to visit friends a few times a week when I visit, my review is based on first impression and overall kindness and knowledge put together for a customer who won't know the employees like a regular would. I frequent a few other local comic stores and the staff there is friendly too but they go the extra mile at IWMC. A fantastic example is when Naomi #5 came from DC comics with a printing error--the inside of the book had creased pages. They let their customers know that they were damaged and had a plan to replace them, which they did. My girlfriend and I wondered if it was isolated to IWMC and out of curiosity, tried some other shops. We found that their copies were also damaged and the owners didn't care whatsoever with one even saying basically "oh well, it happens." So for IWMC to tell their customers the books were damaged and then go above and beyond with a replacement program is something that goes a very long way in terms of customer service. Even after going to the shop only a few times, the staff remembered my girlfriend and I by name, which is impressive considering the traffic that comes in and out of that place. IWMC is more than just a comic shop. IWMC is a community. They do fun things like live stream sales on Facebook where even on there, you get to know other customers and their tastes. My girlfriend will sometimes comment "it's too bad so and so isn't on tonight. That's totally their kind of book!" You can also buy toys, video games, statues/collectibles, magic the gathering, board games, card supplies, single cards, dice, manga, trade paperbacks. They also buy the same stuff they sell. One thing you have to keep in mind is that this is a store, not a guy off the street. You need to expect less than what it's worth as they need to sell it to make a profit. I've taken comics here in the past when they were at their previous location and decided not to take what was offered. It's that simple. There are no hard feelings on either side, that's business. I mention this because I've seen so many reviews for establishments such as this where not being offered what they were asking is a negative rating, which isn't fair. No one forces anyone to accept offers--this is a business that needs to profit. I've sold many funko pops to IWMC for less than what they're worth for store credit completely understanding how selling to a shop results in less than what I could sell John Smith off the street and I couldn't be happier with my choice! My girlfriend and I are planning to move to the other side of the city next year but we both decided that IWMC is going to be our home no matter where in Colorado we move--it's worth the weekly trip.

What we actually found was a frustrating barrier to entry, not just into the store's event, but into the hobby itself. Let's talk about the Gundam TCG beta event. You'd think being physically present, cash in hand, eager to participate would be enough. Nope. The real gatekeeper? A smartphone. No phone, no game. It doesn't matter if you're a dedicated player or a teen excited to get into the hobby--if you don't have the app, you're out. And let's not forget, to even use the app, you have to hand over your personal data and jump through digital hoops. When I called ahead to confirm, I was given a workaround: "Just emulate the app on a computer." Sounds simple, right? Except, if you actually read the terms of service, that's a violation of the rules. So, the store's solution? Encourage rule-breaking just to participate in an event they're hosting. Yikes. This is exactly how you alienate an audience. Five eager teens, $70 per player, all turned away because they didn't meet a completely unnecessary tech requirement. And that's just us. We have a group of dads and teens always wanting to dabble in new games to see if they hold their weight. There were plenty of other potential players in the same boat. Imagine the revenue lost. Imagine the enthusiasm squashed. All because we agree smart phones dont belong in our teens hands. Now we got this store trying to tell us our kids need smart phones. This store, like its now-closed predecessor in the Mills, seems to have forgotten a key business principle: know your customer. Not every hobbyist is glued to a smartphone, and forcing a tech barrier on a physical card game is absurd. We play these games because we would rather play these than sit on a phone.
