I have many Hermes items. Handbags, scarfs, bracelets, watches, and I love them all. Today, April 15, 2025 I was downtown Vancouver to have my hair done. I arrived early and had some extra time so I went into the store to look for something special for my upcoming wedding anniversary. Our habit for special occasions is for me to browse some favourite stores, make a small list, then he chooses and surprises me. For me, the Hermes website is difficult to maneuver. They don't list a lot of their bags, and information, including price is often left out. So after browsing I did find a bag I liked. I took it off the shelf to inspect, and wanted to know the price. I took one photo of the bag and intended to photo the tag, but was interrupted by a SA who rudely asked if she could be of assistance, and that taking photos in the store was not allowed. I felt very embarrassed as the store was busy and a group of people were sitting right by us. I asked her how am I supposed to show my husband what I'd like for an anniversary gift? She said I could look on line. I explained that never in my life have I been told this in ANY high end store. I was carrying my Hermes purse and had 2 wide Clic Clac H bracelets on. She said "it's store policy". I replied that I'd been doing this for this years in this location with no issue, and that it's unfortunate I won't have a Hermes bag on my list this year. She told me "that was fine". I went into Prada, Fendi, and Cartier. All were more than happy for me to take a photo, including Cartier where I chose a Love Bracelet. If this in fact store policy, I suggest the store say so on the entrance doors, and a couple signs in the store announcing it. I will never set foot in that store again. I have never been talked down to by a sales associate. Not in New York, not in Milan or Rome, and not in France. Vancouver has attitude. This is the photo I took. I had a really good experience at Hermes. I heard a lot of stories from YouTubers about their horrible experience in Hermes but it wasn't the case for me. I ordered a few scarves for myself online and I pick them up in the store. I didn't have to make an appointment though. I was given 3 days to pick up my order and if I don't get them the order is cancelled. It was simple. The door is locked so someone had to buzz me in. I told the security person I'm picking up an online order and I was let in. I was greeted by one of the sale associates. She was very helpful. She asked for the email confirmation and my ID and she went to get my stuff. A different SA presented the scarves to me. His name is Hinson. He is officially my SA. Very nice young man. Very helpful and knowledgeable of Hermes products. Not pushy. He went to pack my items and he told me to look around for other items I might be interested in. I found the Twilly eau de parfum. The ginger scent was amazing IMO and so I added it to my items. The 4 stars is because they don't have many bag selections in the store. I was looking for a Herbag and all they have was a giant novelty Herbag. It's the size of a TV and I'm not exaggerating! Lol Hinson got me to complete a client profile. He noted that I was looking for a Herbag in earthy colours. I'm not a fan of orange. I don't look good in orange. I have yet to go up the 2nd level of the store to check out the shoes and other home/decorative items. I will definitely be back and will make an appointment with my SA. After reading reviews, I was honestly scared about coming here. My mum passed away from cancer, and while she was doing chemo, I offered to get a nice scarf for her from here, as she was always into fashion & tres chic! She declined & sadly died shortly thereafter. So I wanted to honour my mum by buying a scarf. I'm not a high-end dresser. Yes, I own nice shoes & I wear fine jewelry, but on the surface I wear old hoodies & relaxed jeans. Not exactly Hermès. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! I explained my situation to my sales associate, and she gladly let me try on many scarves, folded them for me, and even offered me a beverage (wish I could remember her name). I was treated kindly, respectfully, and not pushed to buy more product (tho I asked & was graciously shown). I told them at the end of my visit that I was intimidated due to negative reviews...they said if you want to come in on a busy time or weekend, make a reservation. They're too busy. So I understand the butt-hurt comments from old reviewers who didn't make appointments. But you should understand how high end shoppes work at busy times. All in all, I loved my experience here (coming from some one wearing old, tatty Converse, rain coat, and backpack). It took me a bit of thought in order to leave this review. Here is the thing, the store is open from 11-6, and it gets BUSY! They let people in without having an actual sales associate to help them, so there are alot of people either standing around or getting in the way of others who are already being helped. Your experience is going to depend on your sales associate, mine wasn't interested in me at all. I had to wait for a very long time, and when 15 min before closing I got a sales associate who can help me, she was angry that I was there. I came for my birthday and it's not my fault they can't get a system going or stop letting people in 30 min before closing to allow others to browse. I mentioned to her that a necklace of mine for stolen and I was looking to replace it, she told me they didn't have it. ... I asked her to please look or see if I can order it. She goes in the back and finds the necklace but in a different color, I told her mine was orange, she doesn't say anything and leaves again very annoyed. Comes back and wow she found my necklace, in the color I had!!!!! But now I want to get a bracelet to match and she's not interested. Every time I asked her about a bracelet she told me it wouldn't fit my arm. She didn't want to show me any of the balcon pieces and only brought out one plate. She wouldn't check for any sizes for the H sandals telling me we don't have your size, just take this one when the one I was trying was a size too big. (My mom was a witness to all of this) We finally decided to get "in line" to pay, yea there was an actual line of people (20 min) to pay. No one offered water or anything. I mentioned I was interested in fragrance and no samples. All the associates looked angry and frustrated, knew very little information about anything and acted annoyed. The 3 stars is for how beautiful the store is. If it wasn't for how desperate I was to find my necklace I would have never bought from this location. The environment is toxic and has a bad energy. I decided to write a review about my experiences with this store. I'm shocked at the feedback saying that you will not get a Birkin or a Kelly unless you are Asian because this was not my experience at all. I am clearly not Asian and my sales associate who happens to be Asian has been absolutely fantastic. I have been coming to the store for a little while and been dealing with Kevin who is very friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about the brand and helping me choose fantastic items. I am absolutely in love with the Twillies and the Bracelets and my Kelly ring. Kevin also worked really hard to get me the bag I wanted as it was in very high demand and I lucked out as the store was sent my exact preference for the item. The shopping experience at Hermes is always luxurious. I was greeted twice as soon as I walked in and offered help. I indicated I was just browsing and roamed the some what small store. SA approached me to offer help and product selection. It wasn't a busy morning but couple of SAs were occupied with the sale of a birkin. I shouldn't be surprised by the lackluster and quite frankly rude encounter that was once again experienced at the Hermes boutique in Vancouver. I've been in occasionally, as it is the only local store in my area; service seems to be decent when you walk in to browse or to shop but when you have an issue to repair or if you have an item to exchange they usually bring a more "experienced" and surly person to process your request for you. The first time I had to request for my "skunk leather" birkin bag to be repaired (a known issue from some 2012-2013 bags) which I had originally purchased from New Bond Street in London when I used to live there. I had the receipt emailed to me and I had confirmed with the London store manager that I could get my bag repaired at any Hermes boutique. I also called the Hermes Vancouver store ahead of time to confirm that I could do so. Once I arrived in the Vancouver store the SA scoffed in my face and said that they never sold any bags with the skunk issue. Well that was besides the point. You are supposed to be able to repair your Hermes leather goods worldwide at any boutique. Furthermore, she looked at me as if I brought a fake bag in and she took it to the back reluctantly for an inspection that took about 15 minutes. She processed my request with very poor attitude like I had ruined her day or something. Today I had to exchange an item that was bought on the online store and gifted to me over Christmas (with a gift receipt) but I wanted to exchange it for store credit. It says on the receipt I can exchange within 30 days which I was well within the limit. The SA brought me over to a more senior associate, a middle-aged Asian lady with short hair who spoke Cantonese, to process my exchange, but I once again had to endure snotty service as if I were majorly inconveniencing her. No politeness, no smiles, looking at me as if I were the scum of the earth. The store wasn't very busy either. I've had amazing, world-class service in the Hermes boutiques in Paris, London, Tokyo, Vegas, NYC among others which have made me fall in love with the brand and company, so I don't understand why the service in Vancouver is so disappointing. They don't seem to showcase any of the values of the overall brand. I only pop in for the occasional item like scarves, shoes, SLGs and tableware; I don't actually spend enough there for a quota bag (B/K/C) because they won't sell those to anyone that is not a super VVIP. I never even bothered to ask. My friend was strongly suggested to buy a pink croc diamond H-Hour watch that cost more than a birkin just to be offered a birkin, which she did as she was desperate and that watch wasn't even her style. You have to spend 1:1 to get a quota bag. I thought the sales associates were supposed to at least find the customer things that they think they would like or things that would suit their wardrobe and lifestyle. It seems this store only wants customers to spend spend spend and doesn't actually provide service for other usual requests. So stay away if you do anything other than buying whatever they throw at you. Also don't even dream of asking for a birkin, kelly or constance, lol. read more

I remember walking in here when I was 19 and admiring all the beautiful bags and accessories. I was determined to buy something so I bought a scarf at $400, the only thing I could afford at the time. Even though I was young I always remembered them treating me very well. I never forgot that. My daughter always gets intimated walking into these places without me, and I always tell her to walk in with confidence and you'll be ok. I have come here to buy things here and there, and have never been disappointed. My Birkins are some of the things I would take from the house if it was burning down, so needless to say, I have a soft spot for things Hermes :) The quality of this brand is wonderful. I love that the brand is more understated and doesn't have logo overkill. My Birkins are total workhorse bags and still look wonderful with daily/regular use. Their silk scarves are amazing quality and there are designs to suit every personality. The only product issue I've had has been with their wallets (I've since switched to Chanel) - mine had problems after only about a year of use and I was told I was overstuffing it (not really true) and had the pleasure of spending almost $200 to fix the loose stiching and sealant. Sigh. Other classics are their enamel bracelets and fragrances are based with quality ingredients. I don't get their watches, but I got that from my parents, who always said never to buy a watch from a design house... watches should come from watchmakers! I also don't get their clothing which caters to an older market... even if I was rolling in cash, there is no way I'd spend $1K on a t-shirt or $750 on a beach towel! That being said, the Vancouver store isn't one of my favorites. It's average sized but I find the service more aloof than other locations. Prices for Hermes in Canada are worse and although this is a brand where store loyalty is important for ordering and acquiring the elusive Birkins, I have bought most of my items from the US stores since the conversion hasn't worked in our favor in the 3 years I started using the brand. Good stop for holiday shopping, although an orange box with the brown ribbon is really appreciated any time of the year :) read more

I always blame the aunties for cramping ANY fashion houses' style. The classic styles (bag and wallets) are usually sold out and the left-over colors are deserted in the display shelves. However, There's a good selection of the signature H Bracelet and if you can't find the color or the finish of your heart's desire you can always leave your contact info with the staff who'd happy to give you a ring when they see it pop up in store next. I booked an appointment, they phoned to confirm the appointment yet when I arrived they had no record of the appointment. They did "pull someone" to serve me and she clearly wasn't thrilled about it. I wanted to purchase a watch and a scarf. I felt like she didn't actually think I would buy anything and when trying on watches I felt like she did not make any sort of effort to assist me with colors, sizes, options etc. I finally moved to look at scarves as she clearly wasn't interested in helping me purchase a watch. I did purchase a scarf and then I immediately walked over to Holt Renfrew, where the girl at the Hermes counter was SO HELPFUL and I walked out with a beautiful watch within 15 minutes. I will not return to the Hermes store. I don't know if they judged me when I walked in as I was in workout clothes and non Asian but they didn't make much of an effort to welcome me to the store. read more
