Food is great and that people are friendly. Great if you enjoy a buffet. The tomato pudding is delicious.

Worst breakfast I've ever had and I was in the Navy and thought that would be the worse ever bit this place beat navy food hands down for the worst, The service sucked and when I finally got my meal the eggs were cold and supposed to be scrambled but they were runny almost to the point of uncooked. The hash was right of of a can and the grits were un-eatable. I ordered a biscuit and got toast, when I brought to the attention of the server he got me one from the buffet bar that was hard as a brick. Yup never returning to this place ever. read more

If your passing through and think your going to get homecooked southern cooking, keep looking. this buffet was terrible, we left and still had to cook our dinner. The mashed potatoes were instant, gravy from a can. nothing on that buffet was homecooked. They opened jars and reheated frozen products. The poor local that live here I feel sorry that they are getting this quality of food. Its just terrible. read more

Stopped here on the way to the beach and it was amazing. The prices were dirt cheap, the food was home cooking, the waitress was great and it was what cracker barrel wished it could be. Will definitely be coming back this way on the ride back!! read more

Ate there today for a family gathering. Ordered off menu and my food was really good. Fried oysters were perfect and not extremely salty like some small restaurants. Service was prompt for a good size crowd that we had and she was quite friendly. Lighting is not the best but I think it has some wear and tear on building from many years of use. read more

Beware the Sunday Buffet is $25 and the same food as during the week. Nothing special at all, just $10.00 more because it's Sunday. The fried chicken is bone dry from being under the lights and we got there at 11 AM when you'd expect it to be hot out of the fryer. It wasn't even hot, just dry and tasteless. I tried dipping it in the gravy and that didn't help. There was no fish of any kind but hush puppies also dried up. The corned beef was very good but the cabbage lacked liquid. Succotash had nice small butter beans and sweet white corn. The tomato pudding was nice and sweet. I love it with blackeyed peas but there were none of those either. Cornbread would have been nice but there was none. Ribs were brought out as requested by a regular but not to everyone - what's up with dat? I was floored when the bill was $55. Southern comfort food and a step back in time. Just a good old small town restaurant, bar with a decent buffet. Reasonable pricing decent portion sizes if you're ordering off the menu and the buffet seem to be well-stocked With some good old traditional southern comfort food how could you go wrong. My wife wanted the buffet she found pigs feet and she was in hog heaven. I ordered off the menu or a steak and shrimp dish it was OK. I have been a customer for over four years. This is the second time my order has been missing part of it. I called in an order and my husband got the buffet to go. there were numerous bags on the counter. they gave him the to go order but failed to hand him the to go buffet order. He came home. without the buffet order. I called and because it was a buffet to go they would not make it good. it was a total cost of maybe $10. According to the manager Mr. Brickhouse this is how they treat their customers. They are willing to lose a customer over $10 of four years. We don't have many places to eat here in this town but a I can promise you ai will never darken their doorstep again. We order from here at least 2 times a week and spend in excess of $40 each time. They claim he left the bag. when in essence he was NOT HANDED the bag. I am not a Karen but this is just wrong. Shame on you Mr. Brickhouse. read more

This is the kind of hard to find spot that you dream of. An all you can eat lunch buffet for $9.99. Don't ask too many questions, seat yourself and grab a plate! The buffet was full of southern delights that are all homemade. It seemed like we were the only out of towners since everyone seemed to know each other. I visited Heritage House very early this morning for breakfast. They open earlier than any other place in Windsor, so if you're an early bird like me, this is the place for you. I believe they open at 6 - we were there at 6:15am They have a wonderful breakfast menu with uniquely Southern foods such as corned beef hash, fresh biscuits, etc. I ordered eggs which were cooked perfectly...as was my bacon. A delightful surprise for me were their "home fries" which are sliced super thin and almost like a breakfast potato chip. I could have eaten a giant basket of those! They are very unique. The server's name is Silvia. She's worked there forever and she really knows how to take care of her customers. read more

I love this restaurant ! I usually get the buffet, which is different everyday. The food has always been awesome ! This is mine and my husbands "date night" place. We just love the down home flavor of all the offerings ! We've never been disappointed with anything we've ordered. When you are a good cook you always look for a place to eat that has food just as good or better than what you could make yourself. This is our go to place when I want a break from cooking ! We also have never had a bad experience with any of the waitresses, the kitchen staff is also very prompt at refilling the buffet table with fresh food once the trays are empty. I came here to have dinner with my family and it was not a great experience. My mom and aunt got the Buffet, and they said most of their food choices were cold. I ordered the chicken salad and got mac and cheese. The salad was good, but the mac and cheese had no flavor and was cold. On top of that our waitress was RUDE. She just had a bad attitude. They have a daily buffet eat-in or take-out. They also offer catering. They have a private side room for parties or baby showers. The pricing is high. If not for that, would give 5 stars. had heard radio commercials of this place..decided to try...weekday, a little after the lunch "crowd', about 130 or so..very loud...the staff was yucking it up in the back, and some patrons were doing the same...found a clean table amongst the ones that were either occupied, or had not been bussed...looking at all the dirty plates, it appeared that the fried chicken or some kind of pot roast was the crowd favorite that day...plenty of chicken bones....tried the chicken..bland...found the "pot roast(?)" nothing left but gravy and peas and carrots (?)...pulled pork was ok...veggies all tasted "out of the can"...may not have any cooks in the back...but sure have their supply of canopeners......I've been in bars at midnight that had more ambiance, and less rude patrons and staff..I'll pass read more
