Care is excellent and the facility is bright and clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming!

My parents ended up in the 800 building which is basically senior living apartments just like any other apartments-- but it's not! They have their own property manager on site. The residents are happy and active and there are so many events within their own building.. The 900 building (assisted living) has quite a few events happening as well and those from the 800 building can attend as well as dine in the dining room there. My parents LOVE dining there and feel like the meals are gourmet. Being I live minutes away, I can see how happy my parents are and can say that Heritage Estates 800, 850, and 900 buildings are very well maintained with staff that really care and remember people by name! Something huge to me because I forget my own name sometimes! LOL read more

This place is amazing the people are awesome very pleasent and helpful. My 91 yr young mom has been at two other independent living places and when she moved in here sept she said " I'm home " . She had not had any feeling like this since she sold her home over 50 yrs lived their . They have so many actives a day it's exhausting. Staff and other residents are so very nice and pleasent . Steve the mang is very involved which we had not seen elsewhere that we've been. Jeff who showed us around and set us up for moving in and keeps in touch with us he also went and saw my mom in rehab after her fall. Where do you see that . Also Karen is my go to girl she is Mrs sunshine . Very cheerful upbeat knows everyone by name and knows the answers to my questions. If not she gets back with the a. Housekeeping and maintenance also the restaurant Alex and his staff are very kind helpful to all the residents.it's like one big family here !!! My Stepmom lived here for 14 years and had a wonderful experience. The community is strong! Residents check on each other, visit each other when someone is sick or hospitalized, and are really bonded. The staff has been fantastic. Karen really looked out for my stepmom and accommodated her changing circumstances with compassion and flexibility. Additional benefits are doctors offices and a rehab center across the street, 2 grocery stores within a block, and a pharmacy within a block. All helpful to have in a senior community! read more

We began looking at Heritage Estates a little over a year ago as a place for my parents, who lived in Houston at the time, to move to in order to lessen the toll that taking care of my mom was taking on mostly, my dad, but also the rest of us. We worked with Jeff Katz, who was so helpful, kind, & friendly. My dad would just call him at the drop of a hat & chat about who knows what, but Jeff would listen. My parents were so excited about moving there. But then disaster struck, & my mom passed away in April. Dad was so devastated that he moved in with my brother & his family in Tracy, CA until just recently, when he was finally able to get into an apartment, and earlier than we had anticipated. All this time before, we would troop in from different parts of the country & take tours, have meals, etc., to get a feel for this place that is now home to our dad. Through all those visits, Jeff & the staff at Heritage Estates were very accommodating, & would quickly answer our many texts & emails, asking for more info or updates on when apartments might be coming available. When it finally happened, the entire experience was just wonderful. I wasn't able to be there for the move, but the family that was kept saying how great the staff was, how friendly & welcoming, & how beautiful this place is (my dad's words "it's like a 5-star hotel around here!"). Now I'm headed there to help my dad decorate his new 'nest' & HE staff have been very helpful getting me a suite to stay in while doing so. Can't wait! The only way the last year of finding this new home for my dad could have been better was if my mom could have made it there with him. But since that was not to be, I can rest easier knowing my dad is in the best place possible to begin this next phase of his life. My brother lived by himself in San Francisco when he had a stroke that impaired his vision and speech. I had to move him closer to me so I could help him. This is what I would like to share with you, The woman that came out to evaluate my brother for physical and speech therapy told me, "I visit a lot of these places and Heritage is a good one". This woman didn't have to say that. It was a gift and I just want to pass it on to all of you looking for a place for their loved one. I'm a resident of Heritage Estates and have been here since it opened 10 years ago. I was happy my mother and sister left their big house in San Francisco to move here at the same time. Having a bay, bridge, and traffic between us meant a long, worried drive to reach them in an emergency. We adjusted to community living, apartment dwelling, smaller housing thanks to the staff's professionalism and enthusiasm. They were so generous and kind with genuine affection and help for us. In addition to many activities - dominoes, pool, bridge, poker, arts and crafts, movies, holiday celebrations, entertainment - a major plus was bus service for appointments, library, Sunday services, excursions to interesting and exciting places. HE is a great place to live. I am as independent as I want to be and ask for help when I need it. Residents are friendly and there's always a good gab when you walk from room to room. "Old timers" like me are aware of personal changes when others move in and find ways to make "newbies" feel at home. Come visit us. read more

I cannot be more pleased with the positive experience that my parents and I have received at Heritage Estates! My parents lived out of state, and it was time to move them back home to Livermore. They were not able to travel to Livermore to check out Heritage Estates, but the second I walked in I knew they would be happy there. My parents moved into the independent living wing at Heritage Estates on February 1, 2014. The whole process of applying and qualifying for an Affordable Apartment, then getting them moved in took some time, but it was all worth it. The whole staff at Heritage Estates was great throughout the process. A special shout-out to Kyle Cabral, Jenny Howatt, and Jeff Katz for their efforts on our behalf! After moving in It took my parents some time to adjust to living in an apartment compared to a single family home. Mostly the change in the "routines" that comes with moving. But the staff, and most everyone at Heritage Estates, seems understanding, caring, and helpful. It wasn't long before they were experiencing the advantages of having made the move. They only have to go out their front door before they find someone to chat with. And although they can cook in their apartment, they find it very easy to go down to the restaurant and get a good meal when they just don't feel like cooking. They are lucky to have been married and have each others company for 60 years, but living at Heritage Estates has allowed them to be part of a community that is available to them by just going out their apartment door. Thank you Heritage Estates staff and community for welcoming my parents! The balloon bouquet and card delivered to the door on my dad's birthday was quite a surprise for him! I am seriously looking at Heritage Estates for my mother who will be moving from another town to be closer to her family. I have spent many weeks assisting a very difficult client (with some mental health/ personality challanges) who lived at Heritage Estates and even though she made life difficult for herself and the Heritage staff, they were always patient and kind to her, her family & friends. The facilities are beautiful, well kept and well located. I also like the fact that she can eat in the dining room or cook in her apartment, or she can reserve the private dining room when family visits. It is next door to Trader Joe's, shopping,close to Dr's offices and excellent medical care and they have events and transportation for the residence. Overall, I am very happy with what I have seen and I feel that I have done my research well to help choose the best choice for my Mother. read more

My in-laws were living in Orange County, CA and we were always worried; if anything happened we were a seven hour drive away. When they finally agreed that their house was too much to maintain and that it would be better to live close to us, we looked at a lot of options. We looked at 'regular' apartments, senior apartments and having them move in with us. We are so happy that they selected Heritage Estates. It is a beautiful facility and everyone there from the residents to the staff are so friendly. We are there a couple of times a week and I don't think I have ever been in the building when I did not see at least a couple of residents meet in the elevator or hall and exchange warm greeting and go on to chit-chat. There are lots of activities but even if you are not taking advantage of an organized activity, there are always plenty of friendly people around. I really like the security of the morning check in- the residents flip a switch in their apartment each morning as an "all is good" signal, if the switch is not flipped, staff check on the resident to make sure they are ok. The staff at HE is fantastic. They always go the extra mile, they know the residents by name, they send birthday greetings- they even brought us sandwiches and drinks while we were unloading the moving truck into the apartment. So many housing options for seniors are sad and depressing, HE is definitely different. My youngest daughter refers to HE as "Nana and Pops hotel" and she says she wants to live there when she grows up. read more

My mother has been living at Heritage Estates for about 2 years. The staff is consistently compassionate, well trained, and attentive to the needs of residents and their support system. Yesterday, my mother fell and cut her head. The staff at the front desk responded as trained, immediately coming to help Mom, calling 911, and alerting us at home. Their response time was excellent and lived up to every expectation. The staff follow-up the next day was very much appreciated. We are very confident that the staff can deal with any emergency that might come their way. Well done! read more

My mom has been living at Heritage Estates for the past year and a half. It was a difficult decision to move out of her home and away from her neighbors and friends. However, once she settled in to life at Heritage, it has been wonderful! The staff is amazing. I am much less anxious now, knowing my mom is surrounded by such dedicated and caring people. The concierge and front desk staff (Lynn, Leslie, Elizabeth, Rachel, Melissa and Amanda) are the BEST! Nancy and the other activity coordinators always ensure there are plenty of fun outings and get-togethers. My mom loves to go on the casino excursions each month. She enjoys meeting her friends for meals in the restaurant, Bingo, afternoon socials, Bunco, movies, etc. Heritage is a great place to live! read more

My father was the very first resident in the Assisted Living section of Heritage Estates and just recently had to move to a different facility due to health reasons. During his five years at the facility the staff was excellent and consistently made him feel welcome and loved. The grounds are beautiful and the facility is constantly having concerts, lectures, outings, and other activities where my father was able to connect with both the staff as well as the other residents. He especially enjoyed the Brain Fitness classes, which were a unique offering and really worked to strengthen his cognitive abilities. I can't think of a better place to put an aging parent if you have to make that decision. I have nothing but admiration and praise for the organization. Great job. read more

We recently shifted our aunt and uncle to Heritage Estates in Livermore. The staff is very caring and the lifestyle is well suited for those wishing to get involved with activities or just be a spectator. This is not a "nursing home" but has 24 by 7 oversight with a RN on duty for many hours during the day. Overall we are very impressed as is my aunt and uncle who have dubbed it a "Cruise ship on Land ". My mother lives here and loves it. She prefers the independence of having her own apartment. The staff and residents are very friendly. The food is great and service is truly like a restaurant's. There are many activities including exercise classes with the new in-house trainers. My mother appreciates the convenience of the in-house beauty salon too. Keeping the doors locked except for the main entrance is for security. Residents have a key. There is someone at the front desk 24 hours a day. read more

My mother has lived there for years and I feel so comfortable with her living there. The staff goes out of their way to assist the residents there in any way they could. I looked around the Bay area trying to find a decent place for my mother as she has just reached her 80's. This place was absolutely the best(and not to mention affordable). My mother was skeptical at first, but after a couple of weeks really started enjoying everything they had to offer to her. They have activities everyday and they have a delightful staff. My aunt has been a resident since early this year. At first she resisted because giving up her home was a difficult concept. But now she's quite happy she moved. The staff is very kind and attentive. The meals are excellent. Heritage provides so many activities that she stays busy. Sometimes when I want to take her out she has to check her activity calendar to see if she can squeeze me in! Many evenings there is a nice musical guest or a movie. I would recommend Heritage if a family can budget it. It's expensive, but a good value. read more

My mother made the decision earlier this year to make a huge life transition, Heritage Estates was there for her. Timing was divine, I attended an open house in which they shared their community. We moved my mother to Heritage Estates in July 2016. She is 90 years old and had been living in Southern California in her house since 1958 so she was a bit hesitant to make such a move away from her familiar surroundings. She broke her hip last December and after she had healed we all decided that she had to be closer to us up here in Northern California.We had tried for a long time to get her to move but she did not want to leave her home. When my wife and I first saw Heritage Estates we knew right away it would be perfect for my mother. Jeff, Jenny and Karen were fantastic from the very start of the process to getting my mother comfortably moved in. All the worries were eliminated as the whole staff at Heritage Estates made her feel welcome. After the first day she had already felt right at home. The whole operation at Heritage Estates has not only benefited my mother but also myself. I now have peace of mind knowing that she is close by and in a safe environment and eating healthy meals. Extremely happy! Heritage Estates offers assisted living as well as independent living. My mother had some serious health challenges this last year. We moved her to Heritage Estates assisted living this year. What a change in her recovery. From 24 hour care to almost back to her old self. It was a huge life transition and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. We were able to acquire the perfect unit at the perfect time. There is an exciting calendar of events each month filled with wonderful trips, games, activities, and classes. You can participate as much or as little as you like. The restaurant has wonderful food and friendly servers. Mom has made as many friends among the staff as among residents. My mother loves her apartment and the fact she can also have her dog live with her. The staff has given me the security of knowing mom is taken care of as well as being truly embraced as part of the Estates family. Her granddaughters love to visit and eat at the restaurant with mom and mom's friends like to visit and hang out at some of the games and activities with her. It is close to many stores and services. Mom has even been taking her walker and walking to Trader Joes just a short distance away. This has been a perfect new start for mom's life. One that she can enjoy and we enjoy with her. read more
