My mother has been a resident here for going on 3 years .. the staff is very attentive , the management is professional and caring in just the rught mix. the facilities are very well kept and clean, feeling is more of a college dorm / home environment. (residents ages vary from college mom is 80) meals are prepared on site, dietary needs are monitored and I've been there at meal time .. food looks great smell terrific (mom has mere complained about the food and she has always been a picky eater) if your family member needs the services they provide I would recommend calling and discussing your needs with them. read more

Bethany Homes care facility took in my sister under difficult circumstances. The staff are experienced with challenging residents and they are kind, thoughtful and very patient. They encourage her to take part in activities but do not push her if she declines. The staff understand the medicine regimes and are proactive in requesting refills or changes. I wish to cancel my original review of Bethany House in Livermore, Calif. Due to my misunderstanding of what Comfort Care does for a patient, I did not understand the process. I was totally caught up in the whole process of grieving and did not understand how Comfort Care works. Once I told someone by phone that my husband needed help, a caregiver came to help him. I was just so sad that he was in so much pain and crying out. He received Hospice morphine every 3 hours until he passed. I want to apologize for my negative review. A wolf in sheep's clothing is what this place is. It looks amazing for a care home but the owners and most of the people providing care there are awful people, especially the owners Ari and Richelle. They sure know how to put on a good show though and use the right buzz words when trying to get your loved onto their patient list. If you have the means I suggest audio or video surveillance for when you are not there. Or at the very least, always show up unannounced and walk right past the desk to your loved ones's room. I walked into my loved one completely naked on the bare floor in a puddle of urine. Who knows how long they were there. Likely all night. Owner Richelle's excuse? "They keep putting themselves on the floor like that." Then they should be supervised or you should discharge them to a facility who CAN care for them. Instead she just keeps patients for the money they generate. I also witnessed on multiple occasions patients unable to feed themselves sitting with a tray of food in front of them while the nurse sits with their feet on the bed on their phone for 30 mins. Then they just stand up, take the tray and leave like "I gave them 30 mins to eat." I watched a patient wheel himself out the front door, hit the curb, and fall face first on the asphalt coming within inches of having his head run over by speeding traffic. He was then wheeled back in and propped up with NO FOLLOW-UP CARE! I have watched multiple patients be violently pushed around and picked up when in areas/rooms they were not wanted. Late at night when they thought I had left and the front doors were locked was when I learned the true horror of this place. I heard the caregivers yelling loud in anger at all the other patients down the hall. "Get back in your room! Now!" and "Hey! Hey! No! What the [F word] did I tell you?!" and "Get out of this room, punk!" And the caregiver next door was going absolutely crazy for 10 mins yelling at the patient. She said a couple times "I'll kill you!" Then the staff discovered me and acted like they were all calm and normal, "Oh, you can't be here, it's time to leave." Worst of all, they will prematurely push you to put your loved one on hospice so that they can get the morphine/etc to essentially sedate them into lying in their bed all day so they do not have to care for them. This facility is nothing like the smiling caucasian faces you see in all their promotional materials and here on this review page. I strongly suggest you stay away from this horrendous place at all costs if you want quality care for your loved one. read more

Bethany Homes and Mr. Ari Nagy embody the living nightmare that all families with loved ones with Dementia try to avoid and to which they should never be subjected. Upon a trip to the ER for an accidental fall, the Kaiser Social Workers and Alternative Beginnings Senior Care Placement represented Bethany Homes as the Skilled Nursing Facility needed by my Mother (with Alzheimer's). Bethany's Admission Contract states, "This facility is a non-medical care facility which is not allowed to provide 24-hour skilled nursing care." Nor does Bethany Homes employ caretakers and/or safety protocols that would qualify it as a Memory Care Facility; and from the Yelp reviews, not sure that it is even an assisted living facility. The outside of the 3-story building is shiny and new. The interior is dark, stark, austere, and in poor condition (i.e., broken floor tiles = tripping hazard). The 'dining room' is a small wooden table with four chairs. Staff said most residents eat in their rooms. Bethany claims to have a 3:1 ratio of residents to caretakers. Observations confirmed 15:1, at best. Bethany Homes does not follow its own protocols (i.e., all visitors are to sign-in and sign-out at the front desk; over a 3-day period, no one was ever at the front desk and no signatures were required). Dementia patients are famous for eloping and the extra security measures are what make memory care facilities so expensive. Per the staff, memory care patients were on the second floor; my Mother's room was on the third floor. Mr. Nagy ("Ari") was informed within two (2) days of admittance that we were extremely disappointed in Bethany Homes and would be relocating our Mother back to her original facility. (Nobody inquired or questioned the family member that escorted my Mother out Bethany's front door; nor did the nurse's office question or require a signature for release of her medications.) Ari assured the family that we would be treated "fairly and he would make the situation right" with regards to our upfront admission payments. Ari's deceptions and stalling tactics have left us swindled out of $8,538. Text messages were exchanged re: the calculation of the refund amount demanded, and a demand letter was mailed via Certified Mail to Mr. Ari Nagy at Bethany Home Care, again outlining the calculation of the refund amount demanded. No response from Mr. Nagy has been received to date. My best advice is to STAY AWAY FROM BETHANY HOMES AND ARI NAGY. DO NOT ADMIT YOUR LOVED ONE INTO THIS AWFUL FACILITY, AND SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF GRIEF (AND MONEY) BY NOT DEALING WITH ANYONE ASSOCIATED WITH BETHANY HOMES IN LIVERMORE, CA. This business is NOT BBB Accredited and currently has a B- BBB rating, due to its failure to respond to a previous complaint filed against the business. read more

I have been a physical therapist for almost 40 years now and in that role have gone into MANY assisted living facilities over the years to treat patients. In ALL those years, I have never seen a facility this clean, with staff this competent, caring, on the ball, and unrushed. Our father lived in their Assisted Living for a few years, then transferred to the Bethany Homes Memory Care based on their correct evaluation it would be safer for him, and our mother lived in the Bethany Homes Memory Care for several years. Hospice helped out both our parents in the end with visits, while our parents still remained at Bethany Homes. The skill, respect, care, and love Bethany Homes staff, from the top all the way down, gave my parents and us siblings was wonderful. read more

It is difficult finding the perfect place to call home for an aging loved one. I relocated my father from an assisted living facility across town to Bethany Homes. Thank you words cannot express how grateful I am to the entire staff at Bethany homes. The entire staff took excellent care of my father which gave me peace on comfort. Although he chose not to leave his room, he had frequent interaction with the staff just because they care. Bethany homes felt like family and home. Mom has been living at Bethany Home since December 2021. Transition to a care home can be difficult with dementia and other health issues but everyone at the facility has been wonderful and always willing to help. Ari and his staff have all been friendly, supportive, patient and responsive to any needs or issues that have arisen. The place is clean, and bright with large single rooms and a large group areas where you can take in a Livermore High baseball game out the window. Lastly, the chef is wonderful and cooks healthy and tasty "midwest" meals that Mom loves. read more

A family member suffered a brain injury and we needed to place him in a home that was able to meet his needs. We were nervous because sometimes homes such as this can feel a little depressing or sad. When we toured this facilty it was anything but. It is fresh, clean and staff is amazing. Our family member is not the easiest person to deal with due to the brain injury and the staff here is constantly in communication with us and we have no worries about safety. My mother was in a skilled nursing facility that had basically given up on her and they stopped all therapy and we were told she had plateaued. My mom was non verbal, unable to move , unable to eat or drink on her own at this time. We found Bethany home, and within days she was eating on her own. It has been several weeks now she has been trying to stand ,shes clapping , she has been able to eat a few things with no assistance. We are grateful for the continued improvements daily. My father was cared for and he passed away in Sunrise Private Care part of Bethany Homes this year. Although his stay was rather short, the staff - specifically Gabby and Telesha were exceptional. They tended to our father with so much tenderness and compassion. Gabby handled most of his hospice care and the level of care, dignity and kindness bestowed to our dad during his final days was more than anyone of us would know how to give since she was very experienced. The staff here are very culturally sensitive, resourceful and professional. We are extremely grateful to the staff and owners at Bethany Homes, Livermore and would not hesitate at all to recommend this facility to anyone in need of such care. Please keep up the good work as there is tremendous need for the service you are providing. I will forever remember the expression of relief and peace on dad's face. I did exhaustive research into Assisted Living facilities in the Livermore area. Plus, I had voluminous questions for the various interviews, as well. I'm so pleased I moved my relative into the new Bethany facility on East Ave. Although it's brand new, the owners have been in business for multiple decades. It's clean, fresh looking and has magnificent "sky box" views of the Livermore High School playing fields in both the Social Room and Dining Room. My relative is in a single room with a private bathroom. The staff does an excellent job with care, nutrition, managing personal hygenie and grooming. I'm in regular touch with the supervisor and she's always very well prepared for our conversations and informed on how my relative is. The staff did a wonderful job of smoothing the transition for my cousin from living at home- to - acclimating to Assisted Living. Another big plus is the social aspect of Assisted Living. For those who want to visit and be social, all they have to do is leave their room. I recommend Bethany Home. read more

Bethany Homes "Sunrise House" was where my husband stayed for a while and ended his days. I have given Sunrise and Bethany Homes only a four star rating elsewhere. That is because some people think the hotel like atmosphere of a larger facility is a "five star." Sunrise is more like a home than a hotel. If I could give one rating for the care alone, it would be more than five stars. My husband was well cared for. He felt at home. Problems that came up due to his dementia were carefully and gently taken care of between the staff, the family and his doctor. Yes, I do recommend Bethany Homes. My stepfather was cared for at the East Avenue facility for the last 2 years of his life and he received excellent carefrom the Bethany Homes staff. My stepfather was not easy to care for as he had both deteriorating physical and mental capabilites. His skin remained healthy though he was not easy to move around because the staff had the diligence and patience keep my stefather from lying in one position. They responded quickly to his requests and made sure he took his medication. So hats off to the staff at Bethany Homes for caring well for my stepfather. Thanks again. read more

Bethany Homes on Rockne Drive in Concord is a wonderful, friendly, caring, understanding and kind board and care. My mother has lived there as long as she was able. She had caregivers who were compassionate and very attentive to her needs and sensitive to her family's feelings when difficulties arose. She was able to adapt easily from going from her own home to Bethany because the house is cozy and well kept. The caregivers and owners create an environment that is very family oriented. The residents are friendly and well cared for. My Mom especially liked the crafts and the homemade food was delicious and healthy with the dietary needs of all the residents considered. Mom was preceded by her husband at Bethany Homes and when Mom needed 24 hour care after his passing I didn't hesitate to call to see if they had an opening. I was so glad they did. They had offered remarkably good care to him and I knew Mom was in capable hands. read more

If I could add stars I would because Bethany Homes Assisted Living staff are angles, and they deserve it. I have visited and used services of several Assisted Living Facilities in the bay area for my brother who was diagnosed with Dementia at early age of 53. None of the facilities came close to the level of care, personal one on one attention and cleanliness of Bethany Homes.. I love my brother very much and I knew I could not care for him all by myself. So I had to find help a place, with people I could trust, and after all my research (it was my lucky day) that I came across Bethany Homes Assisted Living. When I walked into the house I could smell the home cooked meal, and the home atmosphere just felt right. Then I met Ari and the staff, and I knew it was the home I had been looking for my brother. It's been 4.5 years since then and to this day I feel an angel was looking over me to find such wonderful second family for my brother I would Highly recommend Bethany Homes to anyone who is looking to place their loved one in safe, and trusted hands. read more
