When…read moretrying to find out why so much, he drug his feet say he's been waiting on me to finish and then dismantled transmission like a mad little boy. This "adult" couldn't even talk without ACCUSING ME of being threatening, lying, rambling, acting like a little kid. My transmission completely rebuilt just stock minus the core and delivery($500) is $900-$1100.... good thing he was gonna change out $60-$100 worth of clutches and a $100-$300 torque converter. $100 transmission lines. Called these guys up and told them they suddenly were booked for a month and couldn't get me in for $1600 leak. Found they reused the pan gasket and filter. I came back up there a couple of months later after going through chemo/ Radiation because the balls joints quite literally were ready to fall off and I was told he knock off $50 because of the earlier incident where they charged me $100 for the misdygnosis for the wheel bearings. My girlfriend went inside after I came out and tried to come to my defense and he stood by his decision that he made the right call to overtighten the wheel bearings instead of replacing the lower and upper ball joints and now he refuses to make the situation right!! I though you had to have integrity, honestly to be successful business owner in Lorain , Ohio? This Shop is located off of 254 in Lorain as well. It is reasonable to expect a normal mark-up on parts, however they charged me more than twice the price of a retail facility, and 5 times the price of RockAuto. {Their wholesale price is probably close to that of RockAuto.} Youtube shows a competent mechanic completing the repair in less than 1/2 an hour. It was an emission control part. Not including diagnostics, the labor charge was $236 which amounts to $472 an hour. Overall the repair was competent but terribly expensive.
