Do not eat here. The WORST Thai restaurant I have eaten at. After getting my food I realized it was becoming hard to get through every bite and I honestly couldn't figure out what it was. Finally realizing that something was off with the chicken... The chicken it was slippery and rubbery on the edges, like when something's burned, but because it was covered and drenched in tamarind sauce into my Pad Thai I kept constantly guessing what was off with this plate. signs, nobody inside and the menu had no prices ( My order ) - Pad Thai ( horrible ) the noodles dry and were so dark because they were drenched in what she said was tamarind sauce and then mixed with the chicken... was it even chicken ?!! The whole meal was torture -Coconut soup w chicken - the broth was okay - had to remove the chicken -Jazmine hot tea ( My husbands order ) - pad see ew beef - dry noodles and the beef was burnt on the edges almost like freezer burn - tropical Thai tea was $7!!!!! ( hence no prices ) Also!!!!!! on top of this I asked for the traditional fixings like the chill paste etc sauces NOPE they do nothing Thai style here. All she did was just shove sauce packages. I went to Herb Home today for lunch with my husband. We've been here before and have usually enjoyed it, so we went today for a special occasion. The chicken satay, and veggie soup were very good. The $24 shrimp fried rice was terrible. It was mushy, very salty, and the flavors were not balanced. It was terrible tasting. I told the waitress that it wasn't good. That we didn't like it. She smiled and listened, and then walked away. Another point I don't appreciate, they don't have sauces or spices besides little soy sauce packs. No peppers, no sauces-- nothing. Disappointing. Okay... we let it go at that, obviously she didn't care. We decided that this will probably be our last visit at this restaurant for a while or probably forever. read more

Truly the worst Thai food I've ever had and the customer service was not much better. We ordered the egg rolls and spring rolls, which were decent. I got the vegetable noodle soup with tofu; the broth was absolutely terrible. My husband ordered the chicken fried rice and it too was terrible. My friends got the pad Thai and a green curry. They both said those dishes were terrible as well. When we asked for soy sauce & hot sauce they handed us soy sauce packets and chili sauce packets. Normally in a Thai restaurant you get the little sauce tray with the chili sauce jar etc. The food was just off, I'm not sure how else to explain it. I've had a lot of Thai food from a lot of different restaurants and this was drastically different and funky. We had two small children with us, who made quite a mess. I always clean up after my son's mess at restaurants. However, I've never before had the staff approach me asking me to clean it up. We had not paid the bill, we had not yet finished our food, and the manager or owner approached our table stating, "I will bring you a napkin, please clean this up, I do not have the staff to clean". It was rude. There was only 1 other customer in the restaurant and he was not there alone, there were at least 3 other staff members present. As I said, I always clean up after my baby, he's 1 year old and makes a mess. But never have I ever had staff at a restaurant tell me to clean it up, let alone claim he didn't have staff to do it. It was weird. Anyway, the reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because there are limited options in the area, especially if you're not in the mood for Mexican food. So considering the other options in the area, I gave 2 stars. But overall the food was off and the service was off. They do have lots of vegan options, which is something that is not super prevalent in the area. If I could do it all over again I'd have just ordered the egg rolls and spring rolls. Those were the only halfway decent items. Still taken aback by the guy telling me he doesn't have staff to clean. I cleaned it of course and was planning to all along, but as a restaurant owner or employee you need to be willing to wipe down a messy table/floor. Of course it's inappropriate if I had left that mess, but it's also inappropriate to tell me to clean it up. read more

This is what I like! Local, authentic, aromatic cuisine. Service was friendly and timely. Full of flavor, tender cuts of meat, moist rice and noodles. So good. My wife brought some food home as a surprise. I am so glad that she did! I didn't even know this place existed, but now I think it's one of my faves! She ordered the combination fried rice, the spicy noodles with beef, and a side order of vegetables. I am looking forward to ordering from Herb Home Thai Restaurant again in the near future. This review is specific to Delivery through DoorDash - Delivery charge was $29.00. Now for the food reviews: Tom Ka Soup with Shrimp ( Coconut ) $27.20 It was good and what I expected. Red Curry w/Sticky Rice and Prok $25.70 - I could not eat it. It showed up like a faintly red/white CUSTARD. It was UNEDIBLE. You guys are NOT supposed to use a thicking agent to a curry - SHAME - And it's what I really wanted to eat. I took a spoon and put it straight up in the curry - it stayed straight up in the container- YUCK. Pad Thai with Shrimp 30.50 - INEDIBLE! it was so sweet. I just have no idea why they put so much Palm Sugar or swetener in Pad Thai. They did add little cilantro and a few scallion tips; however, there was no visible egg, or Fresh Lime in the corner to counterbalance the extremely sweet noodles. NOTE! THEY CHARGED AN EXTRA $2.00 FOR FLAT NOODLES!!!!! I ate the Shrimp. It's usually customary to put crushed peanuts and carrot shaving but I guess they don't. Summer rolls with Shrimp and peanut sauce TWO rolls $20.95 (since WHEN does a Thai restaurant charge for a little peanut sauce?). Summer rolls everywhere else give you a peanut sauce for free. And come on! It such a tiny amount, you're robbing people with these little tricks. If fact, this restaurant even has selectable Thai Ice Teas with No ice, and little Ice options THEY CHARE $2.00 EXTRA FOR A NO ICE TEA AND $1.50 FOR LITTLE ICE. Came here thanksgiving night as we were staying in Lompoc from LA... I thought we only had burger options for dinner tonight but as we drove down H Street we saw this place was open. So glad we stopped because our food was amazing!! My combo fried rice was probably one of the best I've ever had. I was a giant portion and I couldn't finish it all but it was amazing.. my wife ordered the ramen soup and it was also good. She ordered the mildly spicy soup which was just perfect for her. The server was so nice and attentive and she would check on us often even though there were more customers. The ambiance was very calming, the music playing made me feel as if we were in a spa not a restaurant. So needless to say I was relaxed. So glad we ran into this spot because my wife and I are here often and now we have another favorite spot to eat when in the Lompoc area... hope to be back soon... read more

I've been living in Lompoc for a couple of months now, thai is probably my favorite to go out for. So I started at the top and tried Herb Home first - looks like there's a few Thai restaurants to choose from. I only had the paid Thai, wish I had more pictures. It was so good! It was not dry and lacking of flavor, it was rich and very saucy with plenty of Tofu and veggies. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes here - it is not cheap! You definitely get what you pay for here at this place and it's worth every cent - if you take your meal seriously you will not be diss appointed. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. They do make the food fresh when you order it so it takes a minute but again - worth it entirely. read more

However since the pandemic, the food quality noticeably dropped. I think the secret to this place is easy: Dine in. My experience dining in has been good. I find that I get fair service, the portions appear to be better, and the food comes out hot. Came here for a date night with my wife thinking that we are gonna able to eat right away just because we were hungry, really hungry, but it took them awhile to serve us our meal. The restaurant was not crowded, few more tables were available than occupied. I understand that they take orders for take out too, probably that is why our food came out later than what we would like. I know that they can make it better by having extra cook or helper. The drinking here water is not free, either you get soda or water, but you cannot bring your own water, their water is not cheap (see my receipt). I always ask for a refill for water each time we eat out, not this time. Enough complaining, the food tastes good and $$$. Ambiance, it is cute. The restroom is located outside, with coded door. Parking is alright, needs more lighting. Overall, I wouldn't mind coming here as long I expect it would be a long wait so no disappointment. The server is nice, too. She was busy, alone, serving everyone. Btw, you can get a free thai tea if you check-in using your social media. We missed to get it because it was posted somewhere not obvious. Bummer. read more
