I thought the empanadas were pretty good, as well as the Peruvian chicken and rocket salad! Not pictured but the seafood pasta was delicious. Our order time start to finish was roughly 30 minutes. Went in on a Thursday mid morning and was advised there would be a 45 minute wait (somewhat expected from other reviews). That said, it seemed like the wait was much less. Two in our party ordered the Big Wolf breakfast. I had mine with eggs over easy, sausage patties (came with 3 I believe), tavern potatoes and a single Johnny cake. Everything was delicious. The sausage was juicy and flavorful. The potatoes were like grilled whole potatoes that were then smashed down a bit. They were delicious. The Johnny cake was huge (size of a full sized dinner plate). Another in our party had the chicken biscuit which he said was very good, and that the chicken was very juicy (thigh), that also came with tavern potatoes. The last in our party ordered the Johnny cakes which came with 3 of the huge (think Uncle Buck sized) cornmeal pancakes. (2 togo boxes of them ended up coming with us), and a side of eggs. Everything was delicious and servings were very generous. Street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Service was very attentive. Like many places in the area it seemed like a house that had been converted to a restaurant. Definitely recommend and be prepared for a wait depending on when you go. But it's worth it.

There was a little bit of a wait, but this wasn't anything unexpected, as brunch time on a Sunday is always going to be busy. They had a little area outside to sit and order drinks, so I ordered an ube chai. We were called in fairly quickly, and first off, the vibe is super fun. The music that was playing was also right up my alley. Second, the servers and service was quick, and third, the food was AMAZE. We had the steak and eggs, brunch burger, biscuits and gravy, and a side of Johnny cakes (they were bigger than our hands!). Everything was delish! The place sits kind of randomly in the middle of the neighborhood, so it definitely felt unique, and we were super happy to support. I hope to return sooner than later!

Staff was not prepared at all, actually telling people the guy who usually does speech did not come and they do not know what to say actually. For any alcohol you will buy you will pay in addition which is fine BUT the price for that drink(s) will be surprising you a lot. For 5 sake drinks the bill was around $370. Last two glasses were having less sake than first glasses we were provided, probably because people who already drunk something would not notice the difference. It's ok to have expensive alcohol pairing with high end dinner but in this case the sake was very regular. By the way, at bar 10 steps away from the Dark room (same hotel, same floor, same the floor area) the same sake did cost $23 for two glasses. Well... I understand people try to run business and earn money but everything should not cross some decency borders. These guys did cross the line in my opinion. Alcohol prices are not mentioned in Menu by the way. I do not recommend this place not only due to drinks pricing policy but due to "ok" food/service/price ratio

For entrées, I tried the pork chop and it was actually to die for. It was so tender and flavorful, I would definitely order it again. My friend had the ricotta cavatelli which was also super yummy! I definitely want to go back and try their famous burger at some point and they have a tasting menu that looks like a really fun time. 10/10 will be going back for the vibes and the food!

The tartare was memorable and yummy, though the bread could've been crispier. The burger was phenomenal, truly outstandingly delicious. But the star of the show was the peanut butter pie, I would come back just for the pie! Unfortunately, I found a hair in the bottom of my drink, just as I was enjoying the muddled fruit from my old fashioned. I remain confused by the fact the hair didn't appear to belong to myself or the bartender - how did it get there in the first place? And what if I hadn't taken the time to enjoy the fruit at the bottom of my cup? Though the bartender and another staff person agreed to remove the price of the drink from my tab, perhaps management may benefit from a conversation not only about maintaining high standards and love for the food served, but also in moments where errors (like hair in food) occur, how to go above and beyond rather than doing what I consider to be bare minimum.

Fucking love this place…read more If there is a highly rated small plates place in a location we are visiting, you can count on us to find it. We walked literally thirty minutes to this place from our hotel. It was a lovely walk in early August. We had a 5:45pm reservation on a Thursday (we are old now) and we were seated immediately. Service was excellent. Ok so they have a fantastic cocktail menu. I appreciate any cocktail menu that is more complex than vodka and cranberry juice but this takes it to another level of creativity. I also like how they name them with numbers. It's so much easier to say "I'll have a 42" rather than "I will have a duperbeamerscicle". I started with an "88" with pisco, rose-poached strawberry, amontillado sherry, verjus, rose port, and pink peppercorn. Served in a highball glass and garnished with berries. Very refreshing. GF started with the "91" mezcal, passion fruit, poblano, pineapple, amaro, lime. Gorgeous and chic. Very strong, smoky flavor. When in Rome, so the cheese plate did not feel like an option. Four fantastic cheeses were served with very tasty candied nuts, some jam business, grapes, and some of the best bread I have had on a cheese plate. Thick, soft, and fluffy. Paired absolutely perfectly with cheese. Only complaint is that I wish there was more of it. I haven't had deviled eggs in a minute so I went wild and also had the chili crisp deviled eggs which were SPECTACULAR. I also got the Egyptian fried cauliflower which is served on a smear of harissa and lemon tahini. Very flavorful. Star of the show tbh was the tagliatelle with squash, tomato, these fried cheese crisps. The noodles were al dente and SO GOOD in such a wonderful sauce. GF also got the steak, she says "very good seasoning". I helped her out with the kimchi pancake. Wonderful. Such a great sauce. For our second round of dranks we both went with the "77" makrut lime vodka, tamarind, bird's eye chili, cilantro, lime, lemongrass. Very tamarind forward. Very unique. I can see why it's our server's favorite drink on the menu. The desserts looked really good (something with sticky rice I think it was a cocktail and a bread budding that looked fantastic) but we just weren't feeling it.

The deviled eggs were easily our favorite and are an absolute must-order. We also loved the flatbread with fiddleheads, which featured a delicious curry-inspired flavor that reminded us of an Indian dish. My husband couldn't stop talking about the bread pudding and said it was one of the best desserts he's had. Everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. If we lived in Milwaukee, Odd Duck would absolutely become one of our regular spots. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in town.

Sanford is a tradition for us. We love getting dressed up and enjoying a coursed dining experience. We did some bubbly drinks and then perused the menu. Course 1 is an appetizer. As a pear and Roquefort tart junkie, I never try anything new and it's so unfortunate. I do wish they had the option of adding à la carte items, as there are so many app options I would have loved to try. But the tart just has my heart. My husband got the cheddar Boreg and it was amazing! Course 2 is soup. Normally you get to choose your second course between soup or salad, but Valentine's Day it's usually set. I do with they've provide another option in case the soup isn't really to your liking. The curry soup was delicious, but as someone whole doesn't really love shellfish, I would've appreciated a different option. Course 3: I got the duck and poblano stew, my husband got the pomegranate swordfish, both were great! Duck was tender and not too gamey. Stew was fantastic. I do wish they would have at least one vegetarian option though. Course 4: dessert! I had the macadamia tart and my husband had the chilled mango and passionfruit soup. Both were great! I am obsessed with their breadsticks and would like to take them home by the handful though. Seriously, can I buy them all?! lol
