I walked around and didn't notice any plant based, allergy free options but that doesn't mean there aren't any, I just didn't see any as I made my walk through. What I did notice is that chocolate is ridiculously expensive and with all that I've learned about chocolate, I can't help but wonder if it's even chocolate. I didn't ask either... all I know for sure is that everyone says this place has the best chocolate in town so I'm here buying a few basket stuffers. Before coming here, I stopped at Fowler Chocolates around the corner and no one was there so this place must be the place to buy chocolate. I watched the ladies at the registers ask everyone before me if they were rewards members and when they said no, they asked if they'd like to be. They forgot to ask me though. I overheard someone say it was 10 percent off today, must've been for members only, I didn't get a discount. I will be enjoying my dark chocolate tonight though, thank you Wahl's.

I used to go in there for ice cream sundaes all the time with my mom and they were always so good and I'm sure they're still the same way. They have a nice selection of chocolates in there. They have all different kinds of candy, not just limited to chocolate. Like I said, they are expensive, but I think that goes with any specific candy store. I wanted to buy so many things in there, but did not have the money to do it. If you've never been in there, go and look around, have a Sunday, sit down and relax, and it's nice air conditioning.

They had a big banner hanging out front that said they sold Buffalo's famous sponge candy, so I knew I had to stop in. This small family-owned candy shop looks like it's been a neighborhood staple for years. It's been open since 1947! The sweet older lady at the counter was very welcoming to us as tourists, and even offered plenty of free samples for us to try. Now that I've tried it, I will say that sponge candy isn't my favorite. But we wanted something uniquely Buffalo to take home, and ended up purchasing a few variety bags. They also sell chocolates in pretty little designs and cookies too, all handmade! I couldn't resist a flower-shaped chocolate on a stick, which set me back about $2.50. I enjoyed it on the plane and it was very good chocolate. If you want to support a local business and shop local, Ko-Ed Candies is the place! There's limited street parking and it's located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, so be aware that it may be difficult to find a spot on busy days.

On a sunny day there is nothing like walking down Main Street in Williamsville and trying the local cuisine. For a great after dessert, I would recommend walking down to Sweet Jenny's on Spring Street just off of Main. I've done this on many occasions and their ice cream is always a delight. There's usually a long line, but it goes really fast and the service is with a smile. I like a nice scoop of strawberry ice cream, like the one you see in the picture. As an added bonus, if you get there before 6pm, there is a comic book store inside on the upper level! I scored a Dr Strange #6 from 1974. So grab your ice cream, and sit in the shade and read your comic books to the sound of a waterfall at Glen Park located just behind Sweet Jenny's. There's nothing like it.
