Haven't been back here in a long while. I bought my step-dad a felt had a long while ago and another rimmed winter felt hat for a friend. Was I. Search for a fedora for my step-dad a while ago but couldn't find one that was within my budget I liked. They still carry the Kangol hats, had no idea anyone wore them still. The man waiting on me was helpful enough but he didn't put me at ease to browse freely and made me feel more of a burden or as if his attitude was such that I wasn't going to buy anything. His attitude and personality put me off and in the end I wasn't about to make a whimsical purchase that might end up a fail. I get it, it's a small store and the salesman doesn't have much to do but be stand there and watch a customer. Still it was unnerving. I went looking for straw black hat for my husband but the large in one Stetson vs. Dobb it Broner. I wanted a straw hat with a decent size rim but the ones I found were in the $135-$145 range and I was looking for a straw hat in the $100 range but they had almost minuscule rim it wasn't worth it. They still sell hats in the $30-$40 range but they look and feel much cheaper than the ones in the $150 and up. Will be back with my husband as there's no returns, only exchanges available once purchased and it's too much to spend if he doesn't like it or wear it. read more

I stopped by the Southfield store to purchase two hats. I patiently wait for the sales people finished waiting the customer. A young man comes from the back room. Another customer comes in the store. The lady finished with her customer. The lady and the man coming from the backroom both started waiting on the customer that came in after me. They both saw me waiting and the other customer just walked in. I said are you both busy. She looked at me and rudely said "what do you want". I walked out. read more

The owner is so sweet and knows his stuff! Bought a cowgirl hat for a bachelorette party that was too big. He fixed it up with some sizing tape. It only cost $6 but he couldn't run a card for such a little amount and I only had $5 cash so he said no worries. Awesome store with lots of great stuff. :) read more

Service staff was extremely rude. I was able to find a nice summer hat, but their staff was not friendly. Almost threw the hat at me when I left. I could have bought a Kangol cap,online but I wasnt sure my precise size. An uncomfortable experience. read more

I like this place, all the ladies sit around w/ they're newsboy caps on that look great, and I think I even ran into the owner/ manager, Joe. But anyways, Ive nevr bought a hat here but I always take my vintage fedora's here to get stretched, brushed, and reshaped if need be necessary.. I like going in here because I like the experience and service. Go in there and know what you're talking about or have an idea of what you want. I've even bought a few temperary interchangeable hat bands. Next time I want a grosgrain band though, since they are much thicker. I'm very crafty so I wont pay $25 for my hat to be "sent out" for a little bit of hat stiffiner spray when I can just go online, order some stiffiner myself to do what neeeds to be done. But I love how the employee's inform you of all you're options. I've also went to the dwntown original store, but its been awhile. I seen a $375 Christy's bowler, cough cough, I'd search around online for that one, But I really like this place and I feel like they have something for everyone just about. read more
