Perfume shopping and sampling has changed for the worse since COVID, so we would purchase hauls of samples online only to like very little out of so many. We went here to check out a few new ones and discovered a discontinued scent I was able to purchase a full bottle of. As always, I buy the samples first before making the commitment and we purchased a couple we liked. The owner and Maurice were so nice. I had some great conversations with them and I wish the other stores we went to were as friendly in LA. I would definitely come back in the future. Great customer service, knowledgeable staff and stellar selection! I was introduced to a scent I fell in love with and walked out happy!

I do wish there was a better selection of indie or artisanal houses. Scent bar is miles above in that regard. It's Beverly Hills, where are the bortnikoffs, the L'artisan parfumeur's, the zoologist, jovoy, profumum Roma? One thing I love is that you can buy samples of everything whereas scent bar only gives you 1 and they're stingy about which brands/concentrations you pick. All in all it's a good store. I love that attention to detail when it comes to business models. She told me I could purchase what I wanted and she would have it delivered by Uber. I've been to multiple Diptyque boutiques and this Beverly Hills location is consistently the worst…read moreexperience. Depending on who is there the staff come off as either confused or aloof and vaguely irritated that you're even there when you walk in. Instead of being welcoming or helpful, it feels like you're inconveniencing them by wanting to shop. What's especially uncomfortable is how closely they watch you while you're in the store, like you're about to pocket a candle. I know the store is small but either shop with me or go do something else till I have a question. I've even spoken with the manager, and unfortunately the tone starts at the top. Which is a shame, because the whole point of going to a Diptyque boutique is the experience and service. If that's missing, there's really no reason not to just buy elsewhere (department stores, online, or frankly the gray market). I get that this is Beverly Hills and a tourist-heavy area which isn't the easiest to work but so are many other Diptyque stores, and this is the only one where the service feels this cold and suspicious. Diptyque seems to have lost perspective that people come to the boutique for the service they won't get elsewhere.

They suggest smelling the scent card before taking your first sip. The pairing of scent then taste was divine. Git was better than Heavenly. But the matcha Heavenly was a really good clean cup of matcha. Ambiance was a solid 5/5. Lots of places to sit. Open airy room to sample the scents. Outdoor seating that opened with city views. This place transports you out of KTown, and not to Europe, but to a remote part of an upscale town. My wife and I both agreed we'd definitely come back to KTown for ELOREA. Word of advice, take the elevator up. It's better than the stairs.

It is not easy to describe the full essence and experience. I feel I ought to give a little more details. In our group of five, we ordered the following from the THE RESONANCE COLLECTION (in alpha order): - Bae Frais (Pear Cider) - hot tea, paired with a Light Fruity scent parfum. - Cloud Daze - Rice Creamsicle drink, paired with a Warm & Fuzzy feels parfum. - Gentle Shower - iced green tea paired with - a clean coastal scented parfum. - Silk Bouquet - iced drink paired with a Woody scent parfum. - Hazy Blue - iced drink - paired with a fresh Musk scent parfum. A growing craze (and I am definitely on board for it) is the rise of niche perfumes. Niche can mean…read morefrom a single compounder working in her garage to a large and venerated house with a long European pedigree. I would put PdM in the latter category. Niche fragrances are distinguished nowadays from designers (YSL, Dior, Chanel, etc.) and they tend to emphasize natural oils and a range of categories from gourmand or food-like to smoky and leathery. Not just for women any longer, everyone can wear just about anything as it will mingle with individual chemistry and create something signature and personal to each wearer. I have been getting up to speed on some really excellent scents for about the past year. One of my discoveries (through Sebastian Jara, The Perfume Guy) was Oajan from Parfums de Marly. Oajan is a velvety Oriental with a complex compound of flavors including Cinnamon, Honey and Osmanthus; Benzoin, Ambergris, Labdanum and Artemisia; and Vanila, Tonka Bean, Patchouli and Musk. Its delicious, sophisticated and exotic. Imagine my happiness when I noted that Parfums is right across from one of my favorite restaurants (see my Bacari, BH review from last month). Since PdM perfumes are pricey, getting a chance to smell them (or 'get my nose on them' as the fragrance cognoscenti say) before plunking down some Georges is a definite must. Parfums de Marly, BH is open on Sundays (bonus!). It is a sleek, cool, modern boutique where you might expect to see models emerge in Carolina or Oscar, but no, just it's exquisitely crafted perfumes in classic OG bottles are featured. See my photos (taken discreetly and perhaps not rising to great photographic standards as a result). Myra was our customer assistant and she was as smooth as glass. I showed her my short list to sample on blotters and she immediately handed me elegant square ragcloth cards on which to smell each one. Then she offered me a sample of each save, unfortunately, the one I truly liked best, Herod. Still, I now have Safanad, Godolphin, Delina, and Althair to try out over the next week or two, since we will be back in BH later this month. Presumably, then I can try Herod or purchase one of the others. Myra explained the scent profile of each one so I could better understand what category it falls into, liking gourmands, spices, smoky, and orientals best, personally. If you have a chance to stop in this particular (or any) PdM store, it is a delightful way to round out a day dining, people watching, and shopping. Ask for Myra on Sundays, to get the royal treatment yourselves.

After two visits back to back, this is one of my new favorite Aesop locations!…read more Had no idea this one existed until I was attending an event for their new fragrance and figured while in the area the day prior, I'd seek it out so I knew where to go. The setup is familiar where the store extends to the back starting with body/hair/candles and while the fragrances are situated throughout, they have a cool area focusing on their unique scents near the register in the center of the shop, concluding with facial care in the back. Sinks are present for the first and third room. Plenty of associates are on-hand to assist which is typical of the Aesop brand. Speaking of the different fragrances, there are distinct personalities with all of them and I even found a couple of new ones I liked. Although I left with a small cleanser, their sampling is still generous. They don't really do hair samples anymore (and they have changed/discontinued some formulations over the years) but there seem to be plenty of skincare selections available. There is a 2-hour (prior to 6p) parking garage on the same side of the street very close to this Aesop.
